#NinoyIsNotAHero Trends on Twitter the Night Before August 21

Wazzup Pilipinas!

"Growing up, we're always taught that Ninoy is the hero & Marcos is the villain. History books should be unbiased & must be rewritten. Teachers should be neutral, present only the facts & not influence the students whom to stand for. "

A staunch critic of the Marcos dictatorship, former Sen. Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr. was assassinated on Aug. 21, 1983.

Today, we remember Ninoy Aquino.

But more than this, today, we remember that Ferdinand Marcos was a tyrant, plunderer and murderer—and no amount of revisionism can change this.

Yes, Ninoy was imperfect, but his death  galvanized people into toppling Marcos’ kleptocratic rule.

#NinoyIsNotAHero is an inorganic trend activated by a few accounts yesterday and is now a top trend right in the middle of the night.

The first accounts that started posting it -- see anything in common?

You are free to evaluate the man's legacy however you choose of course; my point is to be critical of trends, these are the same mechanisms that will be used to determine the next elections.

#NinoyIsNotAHero is trending because the poon of the DDS is a Marcos fan. Mahilig sa EJK, magtago ng yaman, at  DIKTADOR.

Kahit anong pa-trend niyo diyan sa #NinoyIsNotAHero, MARCOS WILL NEVER BE A HERO, not TODAY, not TOMORROW, not FOREVER! He will be remembered as the Dictator who was thrown out of Power!

Accept the facts, idiots! You've been enjoying freedom of speech today NOT because of Marcos but because of PEOPLE POWER triggered by Ninoy's death.

"Just wanna remind everyone that despite all the syndicated propaganda, the basic element of extracting the truth out of something is to claw it down to its grassroots."

Tigilan ninyo yung ganito, please! Imagine younger generations na nabrabrain wash dahil sa pag iisip ninyo.

The IRONY with Ninoy Holiday is that the opposition—reds, yellows, church groups, their "disente" allies—have bastardized the said day by DIVIDING, instead of UNITING, Filipinos to revive the obsolete political sentiment they once enjoyed because of EDSA86.

Bakit ba kasi ginagawang hero mga politicians. Everyone should know politicians aren't that great nor trustworthy.

I actually agree with this #NinoyIsNotAHero but it's amusing that most accounts tweeting about it are Marcos apologists/Duterte supporters.

As Marcos LOYALists would say, but the love for power and money can make people evil and evil people are dictated by SATAN who's evil and the father of LIES. It's Marcos who held on to his power for many years. Everything that they say against Ninoy is a lie.

Hay nako, when you support a madman like Marcos/Duterte, you lose all credibility. Please stop.

Why Academic Freeze, Just Open Your MacBook Pro and Study!

Wazzup Pilipinas!

"Guys, bakit mag aacademic freeze? Hays can't you just, like you know, open your macbook pros and like study? It’s so simple lang naman eh, plus it’s super dali na rin when you pair your ipad pro sa mac using sidecar, then you just have to tell yaya to cook you food in bed and open the AI."

Before, I just wanted a MacBook Pro, like the one the rich kid got for his online class, but dad also bought me an ultra wide curved LED screen. I wanted a rotating office chair, too, like what he has, but dad bought me an automatic reclining chair with a touchscreen console.

Just wanna tell everyone that the previous statements were a joke based on a confession posted on DLSU FW!

Ang daming *reeks, privilege* post sa DLSU FW!

Pashare nmn ng funds para sa electric bill na aricon 24/7, MacBook Pro Air, iPad Pro, taga-luto, and malakas ng wifi.

On a serious note, DepEd and CHED should recognize that online learning only accentuates classism in education.

Classism is prejudice against or in favor of people belonging to a particular social class.
Unless everyone is well-fed, has the basic resources to comply to their requirements, and is not risking exposure to the virus, pushing school opening during this pandemic is a disservice to their constituents.

Academic freeze is for students who can't afford laptop and/or internet services for online classes; also considering the increasing number of covid cases, face to face classes are not ideal. Printed modules? Yet DepEd expects parents to go to the school to pick them up. Hello, the virus is still out there. You want parents to risk going out and get infected, and then infect their families when they get home? It's not that we don't want to our kids to study, it's the circumstance.

Why can't these people understand that the best thing to do now is to freeze the academic year?! We are not asking you to freeze it because we're lazy. We are asking because it's ineffective, there are lots of factors to consider, teachers are also having a hard time, not just us.

Your reason of not freezing is because education should not be stopped? Don't you realize ineffective is as good as nothing.

Even modular for lower years is not effective especially in rural areas, it's just burdening the parents. What if their parents don't know how to read and write? Then what?

You're doing this for the youth? For their future? Then, why are you not hearing our pleas? We are the ones having a hard time, not you. You don't get to decide for us.

NCRPO chief Debold Sinas on four-day medical leave

Wazzup Pilipinas!

PNP spokesperson Police Brig. Gen. Bernard Banac confirmed that NCRPO chief Maj. Gen. Debold Sinas is on a four-day medical leave for his "annual medical checkup."

Bathan was appointed as the OIC of the NCRPO from August 20-23, 2020.

Sinas said he was scheduled to undergo an annual medical checkup from August 20 to 22.

While Sinas goes on medical leave, BGen Nolasco Bathan takes over as officer-in-charge.

This is it pancit .... Be POSITIVE!!! Nasobrahan ng mañanita! No get well card for him? I hope there's nothing serious with his health condition..just be positive ....and stay positive, sir!

Please organize a send off or despedida party ASAP for the party animal General at his usual events place at Camp Bagong Diwa. No, better yet, set the party at the ICU, complete with lechon, booze and the usual karaoke machine. Nobody really likes hospital food, anyway?

Medical leave syndrome which seems to infect the corrupt mostly.

High ranking government officials who had been involved in several controversies have filed medical leaves for sudden illnesses. The President should urge them to retire instead since they cannot anymore perform their mandated job properly and efficiently due to their ailments. They can be replaced with very able, much better and physically fit officers/officials. Thus PMGen Sinas should file an early retirement to be with his family and loved ones and just enjoy the remaining days of his retirement years. He should always stay positive in every undertakings.

The President is even on perpetual isolation.

Once again, I say, some people can do the world a big favor by being dead than alive.

Seriously, I hope he finds time to reflect and realize that he must lead by example and have the integrity to refuse special treatment.

The JTF COVID Shield has apprehended over 300,000 quarantine violators, claiming it is proof of Filipinos' "defiance," which it expressed outrage towards.

May isang intern ng isang media outlet na pilit pinasakay sa police mobile. Hinuhuli siya dahil umano sa pagkuha ng mga litrato at napagbintangan na kasama sa mga nag-rally.

A family in Taguig has accused NCRPO chief Sinas of harassement. The Metro Manila police chief Major General shouted at a family in Taguig City that he seeks to evict amid the coronavirus pandemic. Metro Manila police intelligence chief Colonel Remus Medina snatches the phone of Arles delos Santos as he was beginning to record their conversation with Metro Manila police chief Debold Sinas.

Debold Sinas is the perfect paragon of PNP's brand of discipline. But it's not just Debold Sinas. Cordillera police chief BGen Rwin Pagkalinawan was caught on camera leading the destruction of the barrier of the Delos Santos family home. All in plainclothes. Toting a rifle. Without a mask. Under ECQ.

Reporter Howie Severino was arrested for pulling down his face mask to drink water while PNP Chief Debold Sinas wasn't given the sentence he deserved after drinking beer during the liquor ban on his birthday celebration? Bawal uminom pero pwede mag-inom? Ganon ba yon?!!

Howie was DRINKING. Was he supposed to train a spray hose on his face?! How can you allow restaurants to reopen for dine-in and then arrest someone pulling down a mask to drink?

Arbitrary, MINDLESS enforcement of rules in the new normal.

Debold Sinas wants to put up bigger prisons for quarantine violators.

You know what you could do instead, Sinas? Free political prisoners. Free vulnerable prisoners. Free the pregnant, the elderly, the sick.

Maybe then we’d have space for you, and the minions in your mañanita.

Political prisoner Ina Nasino gave birth to an adorable baby girl today at Fabella Hospital. She was a first time mother who came to the hospital without anyone but the jail guards. What a brave mother.

She could not be visited yet because she and her baby might get the virus.

Meanwhile, Police Maj. Gen. Debold Sinas' "mañanita" is already deemed a "closed issue."

While Debold Sinas goes unpunished for a clear offense, people are apprehended for non-existent offenses.

Every day, the police and other authorities are giving us reasons to reject the anti-terror law both in terms of its contents and the people who will (mis)use it.
