Bangs Garcia with Lloydi Birchmore at El Nido, Palawan

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Valloydi is the combination of the names of Filipina sexy actress Valerie "Bangs" Garcia and Filipino-British Lloyd "Llloydi" Birchmore. We've seen the adorable couple posting their photos from their El Nido, Palawan trip and oh, boy! We are impressed with this great match.

Both are body beautiful Earthlings. The great heavens blessed the two with stunning physiques that would be the envy of many. We all want to see ourselves all hunky or sexy, and the two admittedly have the utmost advantage already of having superbly looking bodies.

Was it love at first sight for Bangs Garcia and boyfriend Lloyd Birchmon? She admits, "Parang ganun. Nagkita pa lang kami from afar, parang may konek na kaagad. Hindi pa kami magkakilala, pero may feeling na ako na siya na."

Well the couple are like perfect for each other if we are to based on their physical looks, but I'm sure their positive attributes are not limited to the physical appearance, but also perpetuates even deep within.

They seem like a god and a goddess in paradise at their recent visit in awe-inspiring El Nido, Palawan which is another great destination in the Philippines that every Filipino should be proud of. El Nido, Palawan boasts of beautiful beaches comparable to the top beaches in the world. We should all visit it every now and then, not only during summer, but whenever time permits.

Billions Worth of Illegal Drugs and Paraphernalia Seized by Police, PDEA

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Through the continuous joint operations initiated by PNP personnel from the PNP Anti- Illegal Drugs Group and Police Regional Office 3- Angeles City Police Office and team from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 3, a mega-industrial clandestine laboratory was dismantled that led to the seizure of voluminous illegal drugs and laboratory equipment used in the production of methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) earlier this morning, (May 31).

Raiding team armed with search warrant proceeded at No 2-7 Don Vicente Street, Villa Dolores, Barangay Sto. Domingo, Angeles City to serve said warrant against a certain alias CHANG and other John Does but said persons were not around during the anti-drug operation.

Said shabu laboratory is categorized as mega-industrial shabu laboratory since it can produce more than 50 kilograms of shabu in one production cycle.

Further investigation revealed that CHANG and his reported Taiwanese and Filipino cohorts entered one year lease contract from Atty. Orlando Pangilinan, owner of subject house whose contract started last July 10, 2015 to June 09, 2016.

Pangilinan said that Chang rented his house last July 2015 but failed to pay two (2) months lease from April 2016 up to present.

No More Third Telco Player, PLDT/Smart and Globe Duopoly Remains

Wazzup Pilipinas!
"A lot of Filipinos like myself were looking forward to a third player to shake up the telco market and improve competition. Knowing that this third player is far from reality again is unfortunate.
The Philippine Competition Commission needs to look into these transactions carefully and responsibly.
The Philippine Competition Act provided the Commission with wide-ranging powers and the mandate to protect the public interest. This is their first test and definitely a defining moment for them." - Bam Aquino

The telcos are now boasting that they have access to 700 Mhz frequency that will soon change the way we do "Internet." I am surprised that they are brainwashing people with the promise of a better Internet when they already could do it in the first place even without this new acquisition. They are just not allowing us to experience the full potential by intentionally capping speeds and limiting our access.

However, the duopoly remains with the absence of a third player that was supposed to make the gameplay more competitive. I don't agree with just having two telcos manipulating us. The government should let other telcos join in, and investigate what really went on with the transactions among San Miguel Corporation, Globe Telecom, andPLDT Home / Smart Communications, Inc. . Don't let the greed continue.

Baron Geisler Versus Kiko Matos in MMA Ring of URCC

Wazzup Pilipinas!

We were surprised to find out that Universal Reality Combat Championship's (URCC) invitation to settle differences inside an MMA ring  would be accepted by both Baron Geisler and Kiko Matos.
"Baron Geisler just contacted our match-maker over the phone and says that he wants to settle everything with Kiko Matos inside the cage on URCC Fight Night this coming June 25, 2016 at the Palace Pool Club." - URCC
"Professor Alvin Aguilar issues an open invitation to Baron Geisler and Kiko Matos to settle their beef in the UNIVERSAL REALITY COMBAT CHAMPIONSHIP (URCC)cage this June 25! Your thoughts?" - MMA Philippines
Is this meant to show who is the stronger man? Is this how men settle things? Suntukan agad?
So its Kiko "The Famewhore" Matos versus Baron "the Prodigal Son" Geisler! or is it Baron "The Grappler" Geisler vs Kiko "Taguro" Matos. We believe this is just two boys trying to prove nothing. They should instead be role models. They should know better than this. They are using their brawns and not their brains.

Though I am so excited to see non-MMA trained thugs battle inside an octagon, this is not the right way for these two men to settle their differences. It is not through winning a fist fight that makes a man stronger.

Many are saying that Baron needs to be committed in a psychiatric institution or a rehabilitation center. Either way he needs to be put away. An altercation he can get away with, but what if he seriously injured or worse killed somebody?

148th Memorial Day Ceremony at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial

Wazzup Pilipinas!

"Memorial Day is more than just a day off, an excellent occasion for a backyard barbeque or a chance to travel, though all of those awesome staples ultimately speak to the holiday’s true spirit. "
Memorial Day is a federal holiday in the United States observed on the last Monday of May. It was formerly known as Decoration Day and commemorates all men and women who have died in military service for the United States. Many people visit cemeteries and memorials on Memorial Day.

May 29, 2016 marked the 148th Memorial Day ceremony held at the Manila American Cemetery and Memorial.

The above photo shows U.S. Ambassador to the Philippine, Philip Goldberg visits several of the graves at Manila American Cemetery, Bonifacio Global City, Fort Bonifacio.

During the ceremony several hundred guests watched the march on of both Philippines and United States Colors, listened to heartfelt remarks honoring fallen heroes, witnessed the annual wreath laying ceremony, and took time to visit many of the over 17,000 graves located at the cemetery.

Guests also walked through the hemicycles, a memorial where the Tablets of the Missing are located, which bear more than 36,000 names of Philippine and U.S. service members who gave their lives in service of their country.

Manila X Festival: Fashion and Music on Equal Billing

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Music festivals have exhibited a plethora of casual street style looks and have become definitive guides for fashion. Despite being an occasion celebrated with others, music festivals promote a sense of individuality through a showcase of various personal styles, proving how style and music truly go hand in hand. With Manila X, expect nothing less than an explosion of outstanding musical performances fused with revolutionary fashion showcases, all by brilliant local talents.

“It all started 6 years ago. As a stylist, I saw that there’s a need for fashion shows for the general public and not just for a select few. People need to know what’s in, how to match clothes, and, in the process, embrace individuality. This awareness would, in turn, catapult the retail and music festival industries by showcasing the best and the most popular artists, DJs and stylists of our time,” Manila X Founder and Creative Director John Lozano shared.

To further push Manila X’s mission, four of Manila’s most sought-after celebrity stylists will have models walk the runway in four different fashion show themes: Bang Pineda for grunge, Myrrh Lao To for Coachella, John Paul Dizon for sleek and duo Rain Dagala and Em Millan for activewear. Hip fashion retail website Zalora will also hold its own fashion show featuring bold tribal prints and romantic night out pieces. All Zalora featured items will be ready for purchase at the website right after the show, perfect for the audience to get a closer look at each piece. Get the items right then and there and they will be delivered within 24 hours.

Each fashion show will be scored by live musical acts directed by Manila X’s Director Paolo Valenciano. “The fashion element is a huge factor. I think the fact that we've got these talented artists scoring our shows is a big deal. We've got some surprise models as well. We are working with some of the best stylists in the industry. I am excited to see the collaborations between the best of the best. I feel that style aficionados are in for a real treat and those who could use some clothing improvements will learn a lot,” Mr. Valenciano mentioned.

Metro Manila Most Problematic in Deployment of New Cell Sites

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Metro Manila is most problematic in the deployment of new cell sites with main issues ranging from social acceptability, neighbors’ opposition and homeowners associations’ restrictions due to aesthetic reasons, family conflicts and political bickering among local government officials, Globe Telecom said.

Globe plans to build more cell sites in Metro Manila as part of its initiative to continue building on its network capacities for faster internet experience of its customers nationwide. “Metro Manila is critical in the deployment of new cell sites as many of our customers are also concentrated in this area. However, there is a myriad of issues that restrains realization of our plans to establish more cell sites in the area and improve the internet experience of our customers” said Joel Agustin, Globe Senior Vice President for Program Governance, Network Technical Group.

For instance, many home owners oppose the deployment of cell sites in their villages due to a perceived health risk. To this, Agustin emphasized that the World Health Organization, cancer.org, UNICEF and the Philippine Department of Health have already addressed such concerns, emphasizing that cell sites do not pose any health hazard. In fact, these organizations have expressed support for the use of mobile phones and the technology in their various health projects.

Agustin also said that prior to installation of cell site equipment, the health department, as commissioned by the National Telecommunications Commission, also grants permits to make sure emissions from cell sites are within set standards and not harmful to health. It is also under the discretion of the health department to continuously monitor the emission settings of the cell site equipment after installation. The international exposure guidelines are set by the International Commission on Non Ionizing Radiation Protection and the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.

Maria Isabel Lopez: The New Kabogera Queen in Emerald Green

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Cannes is known for its association with the rich and famous, luxury hotels and restaurants, and as a host city of the annual Cannes Film Festival.
It was big news to hear about Jaclyn Jose winning the Best Actress award at the 69th Cannes Film Festival held on May 18, 2016. This is the first time that a Filipina won this prestigious recognition, and the whole country should be very proud of this accomplishment. Thanks to award-winning director Brillante Mendoza's Ma' Rosa film, the Philippines has another significant achievement to boast to the world.

Bu it seems, there was another winning moment in France when our very own former beauty queen, Maria Isabel Lopez, stole the spotlight away from the movie's director and main stars. Even Andi Eigenmann would be envious of how the former beauty queen slayed the red carpet pictorials.

The former Pinay beauty queen still got it! Pageantry still runs in her blood. She’s still been making heads turn since she first won the Binibining Pilipinas-Universe crown in 1982, but Ma’ Rosa actress Maria Isabel Lopez proved she still has it when she struck a pose in her fabulous jaw-dropping emerald gown designed by internationally-acclaimed fashion designer Albert Andrada.

Maria Isabel Lopez did it again at the Lumina Event Fashion Show dubbed as Illuminate: Ignite the Light held at One Esplanade at the Mall of Asia Complex in Pasay city. World class Pinay beauty queens all gathered together in one event but Maribel's iconic green gown undoubtedly wowed the audience a lot more. She is truly a "kabogera" and I so love it!

Team SEA Gals Finishes Red Bull Can You Make It? Challenge

Wazzup Pilipinas!

The Philippines’ all-girls team, the SEA Gals, crossed the finish line in Paris, France together with 157 other successful teams out of the original 165 at this year’s Red Bull Can You Make It? after traveling a total of 2,424 kilometers as they passed through 5 countries in 7 days from April 12 to 19, 2016.

Throughout their week-long journey, the team only had their wits, skills, charm, and Red Bull cans to trade for food, accommodations, and transportation in European city after European city.

The three University of the Philippines Diliman architecture students – Nadine Balaccua, Alison Estabaya, and Nikki Palma – kicked off the competition in Florence, Italy and made their way northwards to Innsbruck, Austria; across Munich and Stuttgart, Germany down south to Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland; and boarded their final train straight to Paris, France.

“Every country had its own merits, but Switzerland was our favorite! For one thing, the people there spoke good English, making trades and communication so much easier. Getting to Switzerland from Germany also proved to be really easy because we met someone who gave us tickets to Basel (the French-Swiss-German border)… Getting to the Lauterbrunnen checkpoint was just so unbelievably smooth that we couldn’t believe it. And the mountain holiday park – Camping Jungfrau – that the checkpoint was located in just sealed our initial impression of Switzerland,” the SEA Gals shared.

Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2016: The Amir Sali Collection

Wazzup Pilipinas!

The Amir Sali collection during the Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2016 had everyone gawking from start to finish at the sophisticated and classy masterpieces. It was a collection of elegant and exquisite dresses done in white and high-shine gold.

It is not everyday we get to see an impressive line-up that truly captivates the senses. They were exquisitely crafted by a true visionary of the fashion industry.

European-trained Filipino designer Amir Sali is top-notch in every aspect. The industry’s “Prince of Beads” proved his right to the title by showcasing a collection that had no shortage of luster. He played around with shimmer, tassels, and feathers. No two of his gowns are alike! Each is a masterpiece of embroidery, beadwork and other embellishment.

The internationally-acclaimed Filipino master couturier from Jolo, Sulu worked for 17 years in Egypt and in Saudi Arabia, where among his loyal Middle Eastern clientele were the royal families and other Arabian elites. This is probably why his works are so regal in nature. You wouldn't want anything less.

His collection truly wowed the crowd! From royals to runway, Amir Sali lavished the 20th Philippine Fashion Week at Discovery Primea over the weekend with his intricate beadwork on varying shades of white.

Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte: Patapat Viaduct

Wazzup Pilipinas!

The Patapat Viaduct is a 1.3 km long concrete coastal bridge that's 31 m above sea level making it the fourth longest bridge in the country. It can be found in the municipality of Pagudpud in Ilocos Norte to connect the Maharlika Highway in Laoag to the Cagayan Valley region.

This bridge, built during the 80s, is around 16 kilometers from Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte. That's between 30 minutes to 1 hour of travel depending on the speed of your vehicle. Pagudpud, on the other hand, is around 570 kilometers from Manila. But the computations would be different because we all know the traffic congestion coming out of Manila is devastating.

Not surprising, the bridge has become a tourist attraction not just because of its length or snake-like shape, but also because of the scenic surroundings as it is situated between the greenish mountain and the bluish sea.

Since the country is composed primarily of several islands, bridges are necessary to help everyone to easily commute or travel greater distances when the means of flight is not accessible or necessary. Traveling by road, though longer, is of course more affordable.

For tourists, road trips can also be fun as you get to spend more time bonding with your friends or families and we also get to enjoy the scenery along the way. I guess it's the best way to appreciate the world around us instead of flying to our destination where most people won't get to enjoy the view from below.
