Inertia of Dreams

Wazzup Pilipinas!

As I sip my cold drink and enjoy the morning breeze, I wonder about my future. I am thinking of a well-postured woman, with a lot of wisdom in her heart and mind. I am thinking of a woman that has no financial problem because she has the best job a woman could ever dream of. I wonder if I can mold my present to that kind of future.

Then, the sun directly hit me in the face as if it was angry with what I am doing. I asked myself  "What am I doing wrong? There’s nothing wrong with dreaming. I can dream even if it is an endless dream." Well, you know what’s wrong? It is wrong letting time pass by and letting myself do nothing but enjoy the summer heat. It is wrong to dream, only if you are not doing anything to make it possible.

A year of endless paper works already ended and it is time to have some bonding moments with the people that surround me, and share the moments with them.

Boracay Imagery: Life of Locals and Expats

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Boracay has become a popular resettlement island for foreigners. Retirees and business-minded individuals see the island not only as a peaceful place for living the life, but also as a lucrative destination for establishing a tourism-related enterprise. But inside this bigger picture, it is interesting to see what Boracay inhabitants do on a daily basis. Below are some of the details that show the daily lives of Boracay locals and expats.

The locals

Native Filipinos retain the habit of waking up before dawn. In families with schoolchildren, adults prepare breakfast first and send them off to school on the main island. Doing domestic chores takes up most of the time in the morning, where mothers administer tasks to older kids. The head of the family may leave before or after the schoolchildren depending on their employment.

Being a tourist destination, Boracay offers different kinds of occupations for locals. Bars, restaurants, and the D'Mall employ young adults for regular or contractual positions. Some older people who are still able to work manage kiosks in the populated areas to sell trinkets and other basic necessities like food and drinks. Skilled and educated locals take on hospitality or instructing jobs. Basically, locals on the island of Boracay are the laborers who assist and extend service to foreigners.

Aquaria: The Newest Beach Resort in Calatagan, Batangas

Wazzup Pilipinas !

I was very fortunate that I got invited at a special event held at Aquaria Beach Resort located in Playa Calatagan, Batangas.

Actually, I was never originally part of the event but I think I was destined to be there because everything else came into place. Would you believe I got the confirmation to join the event just one hour before the meetup? Hahaha

Yes, I quickly grabbed my bag and packed inside just the basic things like my wallet, camera, and some other necessities, and hurriedly stormed out of our home, ran towards the main street, and took a taxi cab. I was told that departure time from the meetup place was at 7:30 am so I exerted all efforts to be there. I did not even took a shower, anyway, we're going to the beach!

I smell really good! Lol!

Casita Ysabel : A Paradise Weekend Getaway in Mabini, Batangas

Wazzup Pilipinas !

My first impression of Casita Ysabel was immediately replaced with awe when I finally went in and saw the entirety of the resort. It was like a small paradise haven. So tranquil and peaceful, so solemn and beautiful, so damn great!

It was like a photographers delight as every corner of the place was perfect for picture taking. I brought with me two cameras and both had an 8 gb memory capacity on them and plus an extra 16 gb memory card in my bag's pocket, and another old 2 gb memory card as well tucked in another point shoot camera.....and believe me when I say, it was not enough. I had to take a lot of shots so I can forever capture the beauty of this paradise-like resort.
