Pasig City Science High School welcomed the Malaysian visitors from Sekolah Menengah Sains Tuanku Syed Putra last November 11, 2013 (Monday) for a five-days student exchange program.

The students of III-Kelvin, the class where I am from, was there to personally welcome these visitors.

"Ohayou gozaimasu," meaning 'good morning' in nihongo was the expression we said when we first met them. We also waved our flaglets (Malaysian, Philippines, and Japan flag). They were all friendly and greeted us back.

The students from III-Joule were the one who toured the Malaysian students in our school. While our class prepared our gifts and dance presentation for the Culture Exchange Program.

Our first day with them, November 12, 2013, we were given the chance to interview the Malaysian students. We had a very funny and interesting conversation with them during the interview. After that, we changed into our national costume and proceeded to the YDC or Youth Development Center.

The way of reading manga is quite confusing, reading it requires you to start from right to left direction. Mangas are consist of drawings and caricatures which we all know as CHIBI that depicts the Nihongo style of portraying their cartoons. Their art style is very interesting.

Many people in the world or they call them OTAKU- anime lovers are at high with these comic books. Maybe the reason is because the readers can feel the author's emotion inside the story.

Now, let's get it on with our top ten.

It's More Fun in the Philippines than Japan

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Well, I don't like to compare Philippines to Japan, 'cause they have awesomeness in their own ways. And I have never been in Japan, so I cannot tell that Philippines is "more" fun than Japan. Philippines has Mount Apo, while Japan has Mount Fuji, these mountains are the largest from their country.

Mount Apo
Mount Apo is a large solfataric, potentially-active stratovolcano in the island of Mindanao, Philippines. With an altitude of 2,954 metres (9,692 ft) above sea level, it is the highest mountain in the country and is located between Davao City and Davao del Sur province in Region XI and Cotabato province in Region XII. The peak overlooks Davao City 40 kilometres (25 mi) to the northeast, Digos City 25 kilometres (16 mi) to the southeast, and Kidapawan City 20 kilometres (12 mi) to the west.

Komikon 2013: Keeping My Childhood Alive (Part 2)

Wazzup Pilipinas!

As I turn and walk away from the Betamaks booth, it went like BAM! Elbert Or, artist and editor of the comic series Cast, is over the opposite booth! So approach him while on his table are his latest creations which is also cool. He is a little bit reserved, but nevertheless he is nice. As I introduce myself, I showed the Cast comic book and asked for his John Hancock, his partner exclaimed "Wow Vintage!", referring to the comic I was holding. As always, a photo op before I say goodbye.

By the way, aside from the Yolanda fund raising, this years Komikon has something extra sweet for us comic book fans. Indie films Blue Bustamante and Graveyard Bandits was featured. Also, Akademi Samali, a comic community from Indonesia joined in the fun. Then the Philippine International Creative Content and Arts (PICCA) is in attendance to conduct workshops and film screening for members and other participants. Awesomely cool!

Now back to my story. I'm search mode for Stephen Segorvia and as Jamie Bautista mentioned he is at the Komik Kalye (at the other room). So I made my way to the conference room to where both the Komiks Tiangge and Komik Kalye is located. The indie komiks booth are few compare to the Summer Komikon and I cant even distinguish which is Komiks Tiangge or Komik Kalye.

The Student Exchange Program Experience

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Have you ever met people that shared with you the happiest ant most memorable activities even for a short period of time?

Last November, we had our Student Exchange Program together with the Malaysians from Sekolah Menegah Sains Tuadku Syed Putra held at YDC Pasig. There were about 16 students from Malaysia who are also studying Nihongo. We were only given three days to meet them, on the first day we had our visitors session which the students from IV-Joule and III-Kelvin had their individual chances to interact with them. After that session we had our cultural folk dance performance both from Philippines and Malaysia.

The next days, there we gained friendship with each other we are now comfortable to talk to each other, share our thoughts and took pictures together. We also played jackstones and calamansi relay. We really had great fun that time especially when we were explaining the whole rules of the game to one of our Malaysian friends and then suddenly he asked me if I can just explain it to him in Tagalog.

Paul Walker of The Fast and the Furious Fame Dies From A Car Accident

Wazzup Pilipinas!

It is confirmed that Paul Walker, one of the leading actors in the Fast and the Furious movie franchise, has died from a car accident. TMZ, first reported it but many doubted the news as .

It is with great disappointment that he had to leave us so soon. When some of the lead actors visited the Philippines a few months ago, Paul Walker was a bright and cheerful lad who wowed the crowd with his appealing personality. Next to Vin Diesel, he is the most identified character in the movie franchise which was rumored to have plans on shooting some sequel scenes here in the country.

Such a waste of talent - and a youth that could have accomplished a lot more, and inspired more of us to idolize a promising actor. We condole with his fans, relatives, friends, colleagues and the rest of the world.

Kubli Springs in Kinabuhayan  Café, Dolores, Quezon

The road to Kubli Springs is literally the road less traveled, and when you do get on it, you'll be glad you decided against taking your sedan car. Flashlights, candles, mobile phones, and the moon are the only sources of light. Occasionally, they may put up Christmas lights connected to a portable battery source to make the place special. You'll find yourself in the middle of a forest, surrounded by boulders, a spring at your feet and a clear starlit sky overhead. You sit on rocks and makeshift benches, savoring the aroma of steak being grilled on the spot. Ah, this is the perfect time to play the acoustic guitar for a sing-along with the barkada (gang) without fear of disturbing anyone.

For P500 per person, you get fresh salad with flowers, grilled steak, Jay's special rice, and a fruit platter. The meal ends with lambanog and a special roast of barako coffee. For drinking, there's fresh mineral water from the mountains. You'd wish the night would never end.
