Palawan's top resorts and hotels, as well as tour operators, the local government units and advocacy movements are now present at the Glorietta Activity Center in Makati for the Palawan World's Best Island Tourism and Trade Expo happening from August 7 to 11, 2015.
The first ever tourism and trade fair initiated by the provincial government aims to capture a wider tourism market and create broader awareness for the province of Palawan. It will also bring together local and foreign investors, economic development organizations, and high level government officials for greater business-matching opportunities.
Governor Jose Chavez Alvarez led the opening ceremonies on August 7 initiated with a ribbon cutting to officially open the expo. A program was immediately held afterwards on stage with Miss Debbie Tan, The Palawan Tourism Council President, giving the welcome address, while the Governor giving the keynote speech.
Also present at the occasion were DOT Mimaropa Regional Director Atty. Minerva Morada, Vice Governor Victorino Dennis Socrates, and other representatives from the Department of Tourism (DOT), Tourism Promotions Board (TPB), United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and key officials from the province of Palawan.
Palawan is recognized as the world's best island so it's not really hard to convince people to come and visit this lovely island.
I am blessed enough to have been among the invited bloggers to attend this event. I've been to Palawan only a coupe of times so it would be spectacular to visit it again soon.
You'll be amazed at the video coverage I got from this event especially the cultural dance performances which I was able to capture in full. You'll soon realize after watching them that Palawan is so rich in culture and heritage.
This will be an amazing 5 days of travel and tour opportunities. Grab the very reasonable packages available only during the event.
Our officials are all smiles as they are really very proud of the province of Palawan declared as the world's best island.
The many resorts and hotels present at the event like the Daluyon Beach and Mountain Resort located at Sabang Beach, Puerto Princesa City, offers great tour packages which includes favorite activities like the Underground River tour, Mangrove Paddle Boat tour, the Jungle Trail, Zipline at Sabang or Ugong Rock, and a lot more fun and exciting activities to make your Palawan adventure truly memorable.
I've been to Huma Island Resort and Spa courtesy of a sponsored trip as an appreciation for being a member of their media friends. It was an amazing time spent at the island of Huma and get to experience a lot of pampering.
You can also inquire for equally affordable tour packages from the many other resorts and hotels like El Nido Resorts, Two Seasons Island Resort and Spa, Microtel by Wyndham, Dos Palmas Island Resort and Spa, Club Paradise, Princesa Garden Island Resort and Spa, The Funny Lion Inn, Ipil Suites, Blue Palawan, and One Manalo Place.
There were also foundations like the Save Palawan Seas Foundation (SPSF) who were among the exhibitors during the tourism and trade fair.
Of course, no matter which resort you choose, it is without saying that the beautiful island of Palawan is a haven of many Instagrammable spots that are both pleasing and inspiring. Everyone will appreciate the majestic views you will get to see while at the island.
I interviewed a group of Tourism students during the first day of the event. They were all eager enough to hopefully visit Palawan soon.
The official airlines of the event is Air Asia which offers a round-trio airfare to Palawan for just a little more than P 2,000 only. For me that's a great deal already. You get to see the Best Island in the World at a very affordable price and give the province economic development opportunities through tourism efforts within our own country.
I encourage everyone to prioritize traveling and exploring the country's beautiful provinces, especially its many wonderful and pristine beaches, before wanting to visit other parts of the world. Our country is so beautiful that it would be a shame if we don't get to see all its glorious sites within our lifetime.
It's now time to pack your bags as you book your flight and choice of hotel. Who knows, maybe we get to bump each other while at the World's Best Island. See you in Palawan soon!
