PMAP President Grace Sorongon Retraces 50 Annual Conferences

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Here is another article written by Ernie Cecilia that talks about the Welcome Remarks of People Management Association of the Philippines President Grace Sorongon. The PMAP President delivered her Welcome Remarks last September 25, the first day of the three-day PMAP 50th Annual Conference.
"Pres. Grace believed that PMAP has achieved much over the past 50 years, saying, “First, we mined PEOPLE… Then we mined COMPETENCY, as we transformed from Personnel to Human Resources, and we mined our driver’s seat with a new paradigm of INNOVATION. These three things are our LEGACY for the next 50 years…”
Past annual conferences were retraced and the relevant themes recalled. It was a milestone to reach the golden years, even though there might have been some "worst times", and the need to embrace "change" and understand that "we are the change that we have been waiting for."

AC News Editorial : PMAP Aims for More Relevance as it Holds Golden Conference

Wazzup Pilipinas!

I am posting an Editorial written by Ernie Cecilia for the 50th Annual Conference of the People Management Association of the Philippines. The article was posted on the PMAP official website and the link to this article was also shared on the official PMAP Facebook page during the second day of the PMAP golden celebrations. The golden celebration is made up of three days of various activities and events with a huge number of delegates coming from the Human Resources department of many companies and corporations, as well as some students from prestigious schools.

The grand three-day event aims to provide a lot of learning experiences thru talks shared by high-profile guest speakers from both government and private institutions, and to give recognition to the outstanding men and women, along with their companies, to bring about a better and more exemplary Human Resources management and workforce.

The topics discussed aim to strengthen and revitalize the knowledge and skills of the delegates composed mostly of HR practitioners. It aims to inspire many to appreciate their role in their respective companies, and offers a more responsive PMAP that will play a greater role in all HR related efforts.

The conference will tackle such relevant topics as: the challenges and opportunities available to the Filipino workforce in the integrated ASEAN, the Philippines as an untapped gold mine, what HR needs to be serious about, global practices in transcending individual, team and organizational limits, HR as a bridge builder, the journey towards HR excellence, the Filipino Human Capital as a driver of growth, the future world of work, and several HR mastery sessions, workshops, satellite conferences, and site best practice tours."
This is a repost of the article written by Mr. Ernie Cecilia for the People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) 50th Annual Conference.

I met Sir Ernie at a Philippine Daily Inquirer sponsored event for bloggers to promote the newspaper's online classified ads launching of a new website and other related promotions.

He also promoted his two books namely
“Life’s Big Lessons” and “Life’s Big Lies”during the event.
After the event, Sir Ernie even dropped us off with his car somewhere in Shaw Boulevard near to our way back home.

August or the so called "Buwan ng Wika", is the month the students of Pasig City Science High School are looking forward into. Buwan ng Wika seems to be a traditional event of the school. There are a lot of activities and contests for the talented and smart to join. Some of those activities are the balagtasan, talumpatian, likhang-awit, and a lot more.

Mentioning the likhang-awit, our section IV-Boyle, has been one of the finalists included in the said school contest. To be a finalist in the likhang-awit brings so much joy to every student of IV-Boyle. It became our inspiration that we also have the potential to win. Having an inspiration to win, IV-Boyle gave their best to contribute ideas which will make the presentation better.

Days passed. We are ready. We practice singing the song in the school but we need to practice more.So the leaders decided to allot a day, it's Saturday, a week before the contest.

Reading as a Hobby

Wazzup Pilipinas!

As today's "bombastic" generation exhibits, more and more people discover the utmost entertainment in reading, may it be a book, magazine, newspaper and the like. Because of this, websites such as Wattpad, Wordpress,  and Blogspot are "skyrocketingly" popular nowadays.

Many stories are simultaneously published by the minute. In fact, in our very institution you'd never end a typical day without seeing a student with a recent book in hand.

Why? First and foremost, they say that a book can take you anywhere. It is your indefinite pass to the vast world called imagination, in the form of ink and paper. Each book is a trip to not only a faraway place but also in time and presence. It stimulates our minds into thinking that we are at that very situation and flip the succedding page to find out what happens next.

The Happiest Fiesta Ever

Nowadays, its really good if you could speak English and talk to the world. But as a Filipino, we should not  let our own culture be left behind.

In our school, we have this kind of event in which we celebrate the pinoy culture called as Pistang Pinoy.

I could say that this year’s Pistang Pinoy was the best because I felt the unity of our class as well as our batch. Of course we were dressed in Filipiniana and Barong Tagalog. The food, though only few, we still enjoyed it with our classmates.

The best thing was when the whole batch ordered a cart street ice cream or what we call as dirty ice cream. Anyone could get their own dessert. Actually it became a buffet style ice cream.

Then we played at the corridor. I joined every possible game that  I could and did my best to win. And I got a lot of candies after that.
