Ideaspace Celebrates a Thanksgiving Get-Together

Met the #FacesofChange a few days ago along with friends from our expanding startup and tech community.

A lot of techies all in one room! - at Fuller Hall of the Asian Institute of Management in Makati.

This year, a lot of people (both techies and laymen) contributed to making things better for the startup community. Ideaspace organized a year-end thanksgiving get-together with their expanded universe as they celebrate the partnerships they have forged in coming together to bring this advocacy to more people.

They assembled a stellar roster of successful innovators and disruptors who will share their stories on how they made things happen.

Some of IdeaSpace's special guests last December 15 were Chito Bustamante and Dennis Mendiola of chikka.com, Anne Jacobe of shoephoric.com and Maria Ressa of Rappler.com.

Below are some pictures of the event.

All in one line, some startups and technopreneurs that made it "BIG" have been invited to guest!

Startup founders, aspiring technopreneurs, students, teachers, developers, digital citizens, industry experts, VCs, angels, and anyone who wants to make things happen for themselves, for others, for the country and for the world are all welcome to attend.

Also its only a few days left before the deadline of the 1st IdeaSpace National Competition! Submit your ideas before January 7, 2013 at ideaspace.ph for a chance to win a half million peso investment and a 6 month incubation program to make your idea a reality!

Creativity starts from the belief that you can potentially create big opportunities for our country and significantly change the world for the better. If you think you have that great idea, watch this!

The bottomline is, you need to take action. And hopefully, in doing so, you partner with IdeaSpace Philippines in bringing your idea into reality.

IdeaSpace: #FacesofChange was co-presented by AIM, Smart and Stanford Alumni Club of the Philippines.

Huawei Launches New Line of Android Mobile Phones

Hey, I just came from the Huawei Technologies event last Sunday, December 16, at the SM North EDSA Cyberzone at SM Annex and we had a wonderful time learning about the new mobile phone offerings of Huawei Philippines.

Famous Yugatech blogger and Nuffnang Philippines Country Manager Abe Olandres was there to give his insights of the new line of products and his guess price of the units.

Lots of winners from the raffle where miraculously, or by luck of all luck, there was one family whose members all won something (jacket, discount coupons, Android lamps) from the raffle including one of the Huawei mobile phones.

Amazing indeed, as amazing as the new Huawei phone models to be available soon!

Chatted with the Marketing Manager and he said they also have plans to put up a concept store soon probably by next year.

Huawei locally launched its flagship quad-core Android 4.0 smartphone, the Ascend D1 Quad XL. Along with this model, the Chinese mobile device manufacturer also revealed the dual-core successor of the famed Huawei Honor, the Ascend G600.

Below are also some of the existing Huawei mobile phones on display at SM North EDSA Cyberzone

Huawei Device brought to the Philippines its flagship quad-core Android 4.0 ICS smartphone, the Ascend D1 Quad XL, together with the successor of the well-loved Huawei Honor, the Ascend G600.

“Huawei Device strives to combine what we know people want in a smartphone with our experience in delivering against those expectations. As part of our Ascend series of best-in-class smartphones, the Ascend D1 quad XL and Ascend G600 allow consumers to experience speed, long battery life and exceptional mobile entertainment in a high-quality, lightweight package. In addition, our more than two decades of experience has allowed us to optimize the Ascend smartphones’ network search algorithm and its base station auto-search technology, improving the speed of the phone’s signal detection to further extend battery life,” said Johnson Ma, country manager at Huawei Device Philippines.

The Huawei Ascend D1 Quad XL is powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core processor that delivers high-speed mobile processing and comes with a 4.5-inch HD display that provides clear view of images and videos even under direct sunlight. In addition to this, it is packed with a 2600mAh battery pack that offers 15 hours talk time and 500 hours standby time.

The Huawei Ascend G600, also known as the Honor 2, runs on a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and sports an 8-megapixel autofocus (AF) rear shooter for taking high resolution photos. It is packed with a 1930mAh battery that charges quick to full for only 4 hours and can last on standby for 15 days.

Winners of the two new mobile phones models were drawn a few days ago. One of the winners was a young boy belonging to a family that also won individual prizes themselves like the Huawei jackets, Android lamps, and discount coupons. Each member of the family won a prize in the Huawei raffle. Talk about family luck so plenty!
