Las Piñas City Celebrates 7th Parol Festival

Wazzup Pilipinas!

We all know that lanterns or "parols" are the primary symbol of the Christmas season.  We see a lot of lanterns of different shapes, sizes and made from different materials. The more colorful and unique the lantern is, the better it is appreciated.

No doubt that when we see a "parol", it symbolizes the spirit of Christmas - joyful and merry, as seen from the splendid lights, colors and ingenious designs. It becomes more amazing when people become more creative and nature friendly by using recycled materials.

Residents of Las Pinas and its barangays showed their ingenuity in creating the best Christmas parols (lanterns) using recycled and indigenous materials at the 7th Parol Festival’s lantern-making competition. They have proven once again that they are the "Lantern Capital of Metro Manila."

Mrs. Cynthia Villar, former Congresswoman of Las Pinas and wife of  the honorable Senator Manny Villar, wants this unique tradition of parol-making to be continued and carried on by the younger generations, so they support the industry as much as they can.

Epson Philippines Holds Series of Business Reviews

Epson Philippines Corporation (EPC) recently held a series of business reviews with its top trade partners to share the learnings garnered over the first half of the fiscal year (starting April this year) and to ramp up efforts toward the 2nd half (beginning October). The ‘kick-offs’ were held at Discovery Suites in Pasig and at the Marco Polo plaza last November.

The events highlighted Epson’s commitment toward helping its partners, as exemplified by Epson’s consistent support to their businesses, regular updates about the latest digital imaging technology innovations, and product showcases.

Toshimitsu Tanaka, EPC Country Manager, shared that Epson will devote its attention in growing key customer segments to better reach the end-user. Tanaka stressed the importance that Epson’s trade partners play in attaining this goal, “The key to success lies in you – as valued partners, your customized approach and expertise on the different market segments are invaluable.”

As an example of products that perfectly fit the needs of the customers, Tanaka mentioned Epson’s new L-Series genuine ink tank system printers. He said that this first-in-the-world product has changed the landscape of high-volume printing in the Philippines by ensuring the highest quality prints at the lowest possible cost to the end-user. The new L-Series printers offer an incredible value at PhP295 per bottle with a yield of 4,000 pages (black).

Senate Vote on RH Bill

So this becomes our guide to the 2013 elections?

I'm equally curious on how the people will be using this information in choosing their respective candidates for political positions.

Aside from the many other issues that we witnessed over the past months, can we count on a more responsible and educated voting population....or are the people easily forgetful again once they get to be overwhelmed with a bunch of TV ads and campaign promos.

The Filipino is a forgetful race, that is why the former political families that once made a terrible reign in history are still in the government, alive and kicking....and deceptively winning the hearts and minds of the masses.

When will we ever learn to think straight?

Dear Senator Sotto : Condom is not made of Plastic

A public reminder.

Be informed.

The people laughed at Sen. Miriam Santiago's statements because they were INTENDED as jokes. However, even if Sen.Tito Sotto was just trying to make people laugh (and I don't think this is the case), it's not much of a laughing matter simply because he made a mistake with trying to connect the "no plastics" rule to the use of condoms.

If people laughed at him, it most certainly is because they know for themselves that Sen. Sotto did not research well enough. Heck, even if it could be Googled right away.
