The Philippines' Department of Tourism (DOT) has recently released an international TV commercial showing that fun never fades in Boracay, Philippines - Asia's 24/7 island. The video advertisement intimately promotes Boracay as the place to be this summer. It encourages everyone to have their next vacation on the white sand beaches of this tropical paradise.
Boracay has been the ultimate beach destination. You are always "in" if you're hanging out there especially during summer. They've even coined a word "LaBoracay" capitalizing on the usually long break during Labor Day.
LaBoracay is an unofficial holiday festival that kicks off on May 1, the same time the Labor Day in the Philippines is commemorated.
Thousands of people from all over the country flock the island of Boracay, to have fun, bask in the sun and relax. Every part of the White Beach is filled to the brim with people enjoying the music, dancing, drinking and all kinds of merriment.
Every year the parties get wilder with a promise of one unforgettable summer experience.
However, Boracay is deteriorating from too much commercialization. The government should market it less and focus more on other islands. It's not the only island we have f-f-s. Technically it may be our best island but when you have that many people on it, it is absolutely NOT the best island we have.
The fine beaches of Ilocos region is comparable to Boracay. Sta. Ana of Cagayan Valley also has fine beaches. All far from urban decay, waiting to be discovered but not to be exploited. Visit Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte. They also have white sand beach there. And the sea is as smooth and far more cleaner than the overrated Boracay. You should also not miss Zamboanga's Sta. Cruz Island where the sand of its beaches are pinkish. Yes! Pink! See it to believe it!

We now know that it was a fake because it was not taken during LaBoracay 2014, but last year during the Summer Hangover of El Hombre Tequila. The photo is originally taken by Dix Perez during the event.
Some publications even reacted to the photo that went viral:

Summer na kaya ang dami ng turista na dadagsa sa ating bansa...pero alam nyo ba na karamihan sa kanila ay ayaw ng pumunta ng Boracay. Bad impression na po sa karamihan dahil too exploited na raw because of too many commercial establishments.
Unti-unti na pong mangongonti ang pupunta sa Bora kung patuloy na hahayaan ng gobyerno, lalo na ang LGU doon, na sirain ang dating paraiso.
DOT should spearhead the movement. DENR should partner...and motivate the LGUs for stricter programs to stop exploiting Bora...
