Sky Fun in Tagaytay, Lingayen Beach and Manaoag Church in Pangasinan : Hot Summer Days

Wazzup Pilipinas!

What I did on my summer vacation? How I spent my summer?

Well, Last late summer vacation, we went to Tagaytay with my mom and my aunties as the blow out of one of my tita because she was celebrated her birthday.

First, we went to Picnic Groove to have pictures with snake and crocodile and also to roam around. We rode horses but one of my tita was scared of riding a horse so she can’t join with us, and last before going home at Pasig we went to “Sky Fun Amusement Park” to ride in the tallest Ferris wheel in the country at 63 meters.

I saw beautiful view of Taal Volcano. I can’t forget this place because of the beautiful view and nature.

UPCAT, Matched Trilogy and Korean Dramas : Summer Spent Productively

Wazzup Pilipinas!

It was the first of April when my summer vacation officially started. We had our farewell party that day with my third year classmates, III-Bohr. I can still remember everyone wearing their smiles that day despite the fact that we’re about to separate.

We held the party at Pasig Millenium Garden. Everyone was there enjoying our last moments as III-Bohr.

After that day, I really didn’t do a lot. I stayed in front of the computer screen doing nothing but reading blogs and waiting for EXO comeback (EXO- kpop group).

People may find it boring, especially reading blogs, but for me it was fun. I read blogs about UPCAT and it gave me tips in preparing for the coming exam.

Draw The Line : Summer Camp 2013 Brings Out The New Me

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Last May 7-10, 2013, a Youth camp was held in Morong, Rizal. It is a camp which teaches teenagers of different ages spiritual values and the word of God. Cainta United Methodist Church held this yearly activity to inspire youths to change for the better. Each year, they come up with their own theme and this year's theme, was TRANSFORMATION.

A lot of Youth campers - or as what we call delegates - were transformed including me. I learned a lot during our four days stay in that camp. We had invited speakers and pastors from different churches to share to us their life testimonies on how God acted in their lives. They inspired us youths so much that some of us even testified our own life changing experiences with Christ. We spent most of our time devoting our lives to God not just by means of hearing and sharing life testimonies. Our youth leaders had set fun and challenging activities which encouraged us to overcome obstacles and taught us lessons that can be applied in our Christian lives.

Underground River of Puerto Princesa, Palawan: I Explored One of the Wonders of the World!

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Have you been to Palawan? If you have, what was your first destination? Were you able to go island hopping? Have you experienced snorkeling?

Puerto Princesa in Palawan is one of the beautiful places in the Philippines. Puerto Princesa (or Lungsod ng Puerto Princesa) is a city located in the western provincial island of Palawan, Philippines. Though the provincial seat of government for Palawan, the city itself is one of 38 independent cities within the Philippines not controlled by the province in which it is geographically located and is therefore an independent area located within Palawan.

Puerto Princesa is a popular tourist city with many beach resorts and seafood restaurants. It has been acclaimed several times as the cleanest and greenest city in the Philippines. The most popular tourist destination of which is the Underground River acclaimed as now among a new wonders of the world.

Trying their zip line is a fun and exciting activity. If you haven’t been there, would you like to know what Palawan is like without the need of going there?

Last May 27, 2013, I was given the opportunity to spend my holy week in the beautiful city of Puerto Princesa. Here you will experience a lot of fun activities. The people welcomed us warmly. They were all friendly and kind to us as well as to our fellow guests.

Swimming: Summer; Studying: Summer Too?

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Inappropriate for summer isn’t it? Summer is defined as the hottest period of the year. People tend to stop doing something due to the heat of the sun. In fact in that season students are enjoying their vacation and workers are using their leave to relax and bond with their family and friends. They used to go either on the beach or pool and experience the splash of water. However my past summer is somehow disordered with its usual way, Here goes my experience…

During the midst of hot season I am to be relaxing the whole time. However, on my summer vacation I am obliged to study and review for the upcoming college entrance test which I need to be passed for me to have a good beginning on the collegiate level. I never wondered how my summer goes by doing such things as busy as school works. I forced myself to be piquant in spending my time in plausible things that will help me from the future activities since summer time is the only available for me to spend on.

Exploring the City of Puerto Princesa: A Summer Like No Other!

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Puerto Princesa is known all over the world, for its tourist destinations, beautiful sceneries, warm beaches, and many seafood restaurants. This city was also acclaimed as the cleanest and greenest city in the Philippines. It’s truly God’s gift, so come and join me in exploring Puerto Princesa, Palawan!

Upon arriving at the Puerto Princesa Airport, we were welcomed by its fresh, cold and very relaxing atmosphere. People there were very hospitable and friendly to tourists like us. It is like staying New York or in Rio because even though it’s already late at night, the city is still alive and full of life.

Stores were still open, restaurants were still accepting diners, and people were still out on the streets having fun. We were never bored. Each day we were given an activity to do and a place to visit.

Flamingoes Garden Resort at Marikina Heights

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Summer is the time for all of us to bond and have fun together with our loved ones. Since we successfully finished another school year, we have the right to pamper ourselves for the hard work we exerted. We must be proud of ourselves because another academic year has ended and we did passed for the next academic year. Some says summer is fun but some said it's boring. Let's find why.

Most of us, stayed at home and some went to there vacation houses. I'm "considered" to be classified as one of those who stayed at home. I did play the computer. Surfed the net. Chat with random people and many more to pass time.

My UPCAT and DOTA Summer Experience

Wazzup Pilipinas!

My last summer is for me the best summer I’ve ever had. I attend summer for the UPCAT entrance exam for the possibility that if I will pass their I will automatically study in UP (University of the Philippines). My classmates during my UPCAT training are students of pasig city science high school and some are from the other schools. My UPCAT training starts, April 10 – April 25. I’ve learned a lot during my review and recall some of our topics when I was 1st year.

When my UPCAT training is finished my family and I went to my mothers province which is in Tarlac. There I visit my cute little cousins. They are always fighting with each other for their toys. The name of the eldest is Angie (8), the second is Mean (4) and the youngest which is a boy is Arnel (3). Sometimes they are playing jokes with me but I am not taking it seriously because they are too little for me to fight them. I just love them because they are all cute.

Morong, Rizal : A Place To Remember

Wazzup Pilipinas!

This year’s summer vacation is over. Probably, most of us we’re not yet ready to accept it and I, personally, won’t deny it because I’ve really enjoyed mine with my family and other relatives. We went to Morong, Rizal to visit my cousins there. Too bad we just stayed there for a day but for me, it was the most unforgettable day during my entire vacation.

Every 15th of May, Morong celebrates its fiesta and the people there use to prepare a lot of foods for this occasion. My aunt invited us to visit their place. It took us almost 2 hours in reaching Morong, Rizal. Well, it was a very tiring trip because there’s a need for us to surpass those rocky roads before we reach their place but it doesn’t matter because their place is really good and we’re enjoying it, nonetheless.

HTC Launches the New HTC One : This is Definitely the One

Wazzup Pilipinas !

Whether you know exactly what you’re looking for, or would like to browse online more until you spot the perfect phone to match your style, HTC is introducing a phone that could make your exploration easy.

I personally witnessed the launching of HTC One last May 21, 2013 at the W Building in High Street Bonifacio Global City of Tagig as a representative for Wazzup Pilipinas. I was so amazed of the new kind of experience and admired HTC for putting up new trends of perspective, function and must have features that a smartphone should have.

With a sleek aluminum body, a live home screen that streams all of your favorite content, a photo gallery that comes to life, and dual frontal stereo speakers, the new HTC One is ready to reshape your Smartphone experience.

Lobo Batangas : The Best Summer Ever

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Summer is the most awaited season of the year. It is when we can all relax and enjoy the summer heat. As a student, I treasure the summer season the most because it is the longest break of the year and it is when you are not worried about school stuffs. I'm very happy because my family and I got to have a chance to escape all the worries in life and enjoy each other. We went to a family outing in Lobo, Batangas.

Lobo provided us a breath-taking view. Everyone would surely be captivated and would have a hard time leaving it behind a come back to reality. We have experienced its white sand and clear water. Lobo has a beautiful view. Too beautiful for a four-hour drive from Manila.

Calicoan Surf Camp in Samar : Where the Surfer Dude Wannabes Ruled Samar

Wazzup Pilipinas!

I practically begged to be part of the group of writers to be flown to the Surf Camp! Actually we flew from Manila to Tacloban, Leyte then travelled a few miles to cross the San Juanico Bridge to take us to the other side - Samar.

This was the location of the Calicoan Surf Camp. That nature-place near the seas where moderate to strong waves will allow you to surf into pure pleasure and a short burst of adrenaline once you are able to stand up across your board - able to hold the pose for a few minutes or fall back into the water with a great splash.

I should have been able to made it if I was not that fat and could carry my weight in balance.

I know I have told this story before, but there's more to be told so read up!

Manila Improv Festival 2013: Performance Schedules June 26-30

Wazzup Pilipinas!

In celebration of its 11th year anniversary, the Silly People’s Improv Theater (SPIT) and the PETA Theater Center proudly present the Manila Improv Festival 2013 from June 26-30, 2103.

The theme for this year is “Follow Your Feet”, an improvisational theater concept which also ties in with the art form’s return to PETA - the group which first introduced improvisational theater to the country in the early 1970s. As SPIT takes on a new decade of laughter and innovation, the group decided to take a bolder step in sharing the art of improv to bigger audiences through the festival and its partnership with PETA Theater Center.

Gabe Mercado, artistic director of the festival and founder of SPIT describes the vision of the festival: “SPIT was founded back in June 2002, because I saw the need for a new kind of comedy—one that differed from the usual stand-up comedy routines that we are used to seeing on TV and comedy bars. Improv appealed to me because of its grounding on truth, the magic of spontaneity, and the fun that on-the-spot creation brings about. We hope events like these help build the improv community of the country and the region.”

Dark Clouds Loom Across The Metro : The Rainy Season is Here

Wazzup Pilipinas!

As reported and seen by many when dark clouds of a thunderstorm threaten Metro Manila in the photo above just before heavy rains poured over parts of the metro last Thursday causing floods in several areas and the suspension of classes in several schools.

In its 24-hour forecast issued 5 a.m. Friday, PAGASA said Palawan, Mindoro, Cavite, Batangas, Zambales and Bataan will have moderate to occasionally heavy rain showers and thunderstorms. Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have light to moderate rain showers and thunderstorms. The public is advised to be wary of floods and landslides.

I believe the rains are here, and so when it rains expect flooding in some, or most, parts of the Metro. Just take a look at the photos below where dark clouds loom across the Metro, specifically Ayala Technohub in Quezon City.

Superman : 75 Years and Still Flying...But Wait, Who's Missing?

Wazzup Pilipinas!

One of these things is not like the others
One of these things just doesn't belong
Can you tell me which thing is not like the others
By the time I finish my song?

Time really does fly. Entertainment Weekly is taking a look back at all the critical moments in Superman’s evolution - from Action Comics #1 to Man of Steel.

However, from the cover of the magazine, can you see someone missing?

Where's Brandon Routh?! "Superman Returns" might have sucked heaping loads of gobble-dee-gook, but he was a good Superman. Come on, ET! To omit Brandon is just wrong. Superman Returns was a great movie. It was an homage to both Christopher Reeve and Richard Donner's version. But some are saying Superman Returns was a God awful rip off of the original 78 Superman and not an homage.

Project Babysitting: My Summer 2013

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Summer is the only thing I’m looking forward to. It’s the time where I can be nocturnal, the time where homework don’t exist and the perfect time to give ourselves the vacation we all want. I stayed my first week in our house, with a very productive cycle, sleep-eat-sleep-computer-sleep.

Trust me, it’s not really fun. But after a few days, my uncle asked me if I can stay with them in a few days because my female cousin didn’t have any companions. And furthermore, my uncle was always out because he is some sort of mechanic. My stay in their house was great, they have a lot of food and we can stay up all night while watching a bunch of movies.

My mom decided that she wants me to go home already (I don’t know why). But after a week , my aunt on my father’s side decided to have a reunion with my cousin’s (which was really awesome). So I agreed, then we went to their house at Imus, Cavite. It was really good to see them, and most of all, I missed them so much, we haven’t seen each other for years. This was one of the most unforgettable memories we have captured.

Thule Launches Stylish and Elegant Cases and Bags in the Philippines

Wazzup Pilipinas !

Last June 11, 2013, Thule Sweden launched their showcase of  Bags , Luggage, and Elegant Cases that is truly worthy of praises for its Style, Elegance, and Quality that is comparable to major brands that dominate the bags, luggage and cases industry.

I was truly amazed of such simple yet durable necessities when I represented Wazzup Pilipinas at the Thule launch held at the Vikings restaurant in North EDSA.

Thule cases and bags include backpacks, messenger bags, laptop sleeves, and duffel trolleys. Their kind of stuff is a major move and a step beyond the conservative thinking that you should be like the original for you to be successful or be known of.

The new system allows payment for transactions in most anchor tenants in SM shopping malls.

My Summer Staycation and Personal Blog

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Last summer, or even before that, I've already prepared how I'm going to make the most of my summer vacation. My parents already told us that we're not going anywhere that's synonymous to the word "paradise" because of their work this summer so I think it's proper to call it "summer staycation". I've established my own blog last January 1st, I have decided to put it up to express my thoughts/feelings/moods that I am currently having. I make sure that the posts that I'm publishing are quite "relatable" to my readers (if there are). Another reason why I've opt to build a blog is to resist boredom, like what I've said a while ago, my siblings and I will just be staying at our house and I don't get along with them that much so, my bestfriends last summer was my laptop, camera, and our aircon.

There comes the time that we've inflated our "kiddie pool" because my mom wants us to have a bonding time at the same time spend it inside our territory and that wasn't that bad, we had snacks and of course the pool even though it was just 3 feet high and 4 meters wide, that was the part that triggered some bonding moments among us.

Man of Steel Breaks All Time First Day Record !!!

Wazzup Pilipinas!

People have started calling MAN OF STEEL - "Epic," "Thrilling," and "Best Comic Book Movie"...as it hits an all-time first-day record with P69.52-M Box Office In The Philippines!

The Man of Steel Now Beats Iron Man 3 In Philippine Box Office! Congrats Warner Bros. Pictures (Philippines)!

OMG! This is it! This is what I am looking for in superhero films. Crazy story and fight scenes! Watching "Man of Steel" is like watching "Marvel's The Avengers" only difference is that only one guy doing the work of six. I will definitely buy the original DVD. I will watch it again tomorrow.

I grew up watching the Christopher Reeve movies and he inspired me to believe that men can fly...but the Man of Steel made me believe that being a hero is a decision! I would definitely recommend this to everyone and this would definitely be a part of my collection!

Japan Summer Immersion Program : What I have Learned From the Trip

Wazzup Pilipinas!

DepEd and Japan Foundation Manila did not send us to this trip just to have fun, although we surely did. We had tasks to complete, assignments to finish, reports to write and present, and reflections to think about. In summary, I have learned and realized the following from my ten-day immersion in Japan:

1. Always be a good ambassador of your country. Do this by acting professionally, speaking well about your country and its people, and doing the very best that you can in everything you do. The Japanese people are known for being hardworking, and for excelling in whatever they lay their hands on. So because they give their best, they expect the same from us.

2. Always look at the time. Never be late. But don’t be too early either. We got lost in Osaka not because we were tardy but because we rode the train too early. In Japan, every second counts. You have to ride the train at the exact time stated in the schedule. Or else like us, you will end up elsewhere.

Japan: Day 8, 9 and 10 of the 10-Day Summer Immersion Program

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Let's continue with the last three days of our visit to Japan for our Summer Immersion Program sponsored by the Japan Foundation and the country of Japan as a whole.

Visiting Kitamoto High School on Day 8

Visiting Kitamoto High School was very enlightening for me. I learned that students had only one chance in pursuing their studies; so they had to give their very best in order to obtain a good high school education. Cooperative learning is highly emphasized, so they are very keen on partnering each student with someone whose grade or year level is higher. They call this the kouhai (lower year) and sempai (higher year).

In Japan, students are not publicly acknowledged in recognition programs unlike here in the Philippines where grades truly matter especially in scholarship programs at the university level. The students apply to the university of their choice, which they choose by its rank; unlike in our country where we try to determine which schools excel in the program or degree of our choice, then send our applications.

Japan : Day 5, 6 and 7 of the 10-Day Summer Immersion Program

Wazzup Pilipinas!

This post is all about day 5, 6 and 7 of our 10 Day Summer Immersion Program in Japan.

Riding the Shinkansen bound for Saitama on Day 5

For our fifth day in Japan, we had a very quick review session in the morning on what to do for our Tokyo field work and for our school visit. Then after lunch, we had to rush to the shinkansen or bullet train, that would take us to Saitama. We would spend the next four days at the Urawa Center. The shinkansen was indeed very fast, yet I felt that the ride was very smooth and even more stable than the train. We arrived at the Urawa Center early evening, and so we just ate dinner, and prepared for the activities the following day. Again, we were treated like royalty with such five-star accommodations.

Acne Treatment Using Effective ProActiv Solution

Wazzup Pilipinas!

As a child, it has been less of a problem of mine to experience the troubling effects of an acne or pimple dilemma. I could imagine the disgusts of my other classmates suffering from an acne bombardment in their faces. Such a true destroyer of confidence.

Maybe because I grew up from the province of Pangasinan where our food is less of the oily and fried stuff we see and eat here in Manila. Fresh vegetables, fruits, root crops and other food direct from nature were abundant and so we didn't have to buy from fastfood chains and suffer guilt from all those greasy food.

Some say fried food contributes to the acne or pimple problem.....and if your diet is not paired with enough exercise and a positive perception in life, it also wreaks a distressful disposition. In severe cases, you need the help of experienced dermatologists to deal with your acne issues. Make sure to contact only a reputable aesthetic clinic so that you can get the right treatment in the right manner.

Let's start our every morning right, and end it still feeling glad we made it throughout a lengthy but fulfilled day!

Celebrating Summer at the Paradise of Anton

Wazzup Pilipinas!

One of the most unforgettable vacation has brought me one of the embarrassing and painful moments during summer. It was when we went to a magical falls called “Paradise of Anton” , the way up there was really a hard one due to the large packs of stone and some of which are pointed. On our way there beside from the fact that the time you are able to reach the falls would take about 30 minutes which is really tired me out. While stepping in one of those stairlike rocks I suddenly slip and wounded myself which left a scar on my knee.

How I wish I could enjoy the night life right there on the shores of Pagudpod in Ilocos Sur but due to the the pain in my knee which unable me to go , so I stayed at the hotel rom browing from channel to channel and trying to foget the beach although I know that my cousins certainly are enjoying so I just played my cellphone until I fall asleep.

The time I woke up I checked my knees the wound was all dried out and I could walk again so I jumped out of bed and enjoyed the day in Vigan and Pagudpod, with the company of family.

Summer 2013 : Review Centers, Kumon, Cupcakes and Cashmere

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Summer 2013 was the summer vacation wherein I found myself extremely productive. Unlike my previous summer vacations where we visited Puerto Princesa, Palawan, Singapore and Hong Kong then we were pretty much useless before the trip, this year, I decided to concentrate more on preparing for the College Entrance Tests that I will be taking in the next couple of months.

My friends and I enrolled at PTS Review Systems for the College Entrance Test Review. It was also another way of bonding with my friends Vallea, Justine, Nicole, Aubrey and AC, that's why the classes weren't always dull. Some of our group's favorite teachers were Sir Enrico and Ros. We learned a lot of meaningful things in PTS that had not been imparted to us by our previous teachers back at school and that's why I think it was fulfilling and at the same time, fun because I enjoyed the company of the people around me. My mom also enrolled my sister and I in Kumon, a children's review center.

Summer Time with Amazing People

YEHEY WOHOO YES SUMMER TIME” when you hear this from the students, you will know it it’s an indication that summer has arrived. So what did I accomplish during summer?

I didn’t have a luxurious vacation like having a night in another country nor spend the week at Boracay but having and experiencing this simple but complicated things and matters this summer made me feel braver and stronger.

First meet my best friends the tallest is Nicole and the one in orange is Shenna. I just want to share this event because this is one of the things in summer that helped me a lot. May 21, 2013 we attended Shenna’s recital at Araneta Coliseum. At the venue, we shouted and supported Shenna by the time she was already performing. After that we had our dinner at a fast-food chain, like the usual we ate at KFC and it was already past midnight. I informed my parents that I'm sorry because I made them worry and I'll arrive at home late and all. I can’t even eat properly Shenna and Nicole kept on telling me “sorry ha mapapagalitan ka na uyy kain ka na sige ka papayat  ka” these lines helped me to enjoy the day even I know that my parents will scold me when I got home.

What im saying is that we came from different schools like Shenna from San Benildo Nicole from St.Scho Pampanga and me at PCSHS but we don’t forget to bond with each other if we have time, this bond between us is “unkabokable” its strong this bond keeps on going for 7 years, its priceless.

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Philippine Independence Day is an annual national holiday commemorating the Day of Freedom or "Araw ng Kalayaan". It is observed every 12th of June to commemorate the Philippine Declaration of Independence from Spain on June 12, 1898.

Independence Day was officially observed on July 4 until the Republic Act No. 4166, which set out to move the holiday to June 12, was approved on August 4, 1964.

It is a day when many people, including government officials, employees, and students, participate in nationwide celebrations in the form of parades and events related to Independence Day.  However, the main highlight is the police and military parade in Manila headed by the country’s incumbent president, followed by a speech and a 21-gun salute.
