Eat, Drink or Marry an Aussie: Celebrating Australia Day at Skippy's Bar & Grill

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Yup! I'm actually exaggerating on the title, particularly on that "Marry an Aussie" part. But who knows, there's a;ways a possibility. A night of mingling with new-found friends from Australia could lead to something more intimate other than just sharing a night of drinks while listening to the live band, watching sports channels, or playing a few game of billiards or darts.

Just a few days before the Chinese New Year is another well celebrated event recognized all over the world - Australia Day! Since this is not my first time to celebrate Australia Day at their place, you may want to read my previous article about it so you'll get an idea.

If you are one of those that enjoy a fantastic time shopping for healthy breakfast items, or attending the wine masterclasses, at the Australian Festival held at the Marketplace by Rustan's in Powerplant Mall located at Rockwell, Makati, or you are also sending your good luck to Caris Tiivel on her Miss Universe 2016 bid, then that could mean you love everything about Australia. Perhaps you may also enjoy your nights hanging out at bars where Aussies are frequent.
The night of January 26 was reserved for lots of eating, drinking, chatting and everything else beyond and in between. I have to admit I'm not the extrovert type who loves going out and spending the night hours at a bar or anywhere else that has intoxicating liquor or spirits as a prime commodity, but but it's somehow different at Skippy's Bar & Grill. You can read the articles from the links here so you'll get to know more about this restaurant located at Forum Bonifacio Global City (BGC). It's just opposite the site where Mercato Centrale is held and now there's the Maybank Performing Arts Theater just across the neighborhood of this business. leisure, arts and entertainment center of Taguig city.

Why is Skippy's Bar & Grill? Because aside from the numerous assortment of drinks ranging from non-alcoholic to beers, and from cocktails to giant margaritas, they also have a wide list of gastronomic delights in their menu that's perfect to match with the drinks, or eat lavishly on their own. Trust me, they have more than just delectable chicken wings to satisfy your cravings for great comfort food. They also cater to the family. They are not only open at night time but also during daytime so they are ready to serve lunch. I took my family there for a splendid dining experience that would remain memorable for us since it's one of the rare opportunities when we could all go out and bond together due to the hectic schedules in school for the kids, and work for me and my wife.

Since one of the owners is pure Australian, the vibe at this bar is nothing short of the experience from the land down under mainly because you'll find yourself surrounded with images influenced by the country. Well, there was one time the owner served kangaroo meat, but there's simply more to Skippy's Bar & Grill than the iconic animal known best for hopping and keeping their young ones in their natural "pouches." If you're in luck and happen to meet the guy known as Steve, then he might chat with you and introduce you to his Aussie friends.

However, Skippy's Bar & Grill enjoy visits from both local and foreign customers. The owners say half of their customers are Filipinos who discovered what they have to offer is not just for their Aussie friends. They have individuals from different nationalities, from expats or just visiting on a business trip, that have visited their bar mostly from recommendations by their loyal customers too.  Word of mouth is indeed powerful just as how social media networks have paved the way for many to find out more about everything and to always stay connected and informed in real time.

I would love to share more about my Australia Day celebration at Skippy's Bar & Grill but I want you to experience it yourself by coming over personally at this restaurant so you'll feel the warmth and welcoming aura of the place. If you have nothing else better to do, then drop by so you'll have lots of fun with new friends. Promise!
