Dasmarinas Village Association Replaces Security Agency But Absorbs Guards Involved in the Binay Controversy

Wazzup Pilipinas!
"Update on DasmariƱas Village (Banyan Gate) Guards vs Mayor Binay issue: The security agency was fired. The involved guards were absorbed by the replacing agency. I love this. I hope Binays get the message. Hah!"- Clinton Balud

It was reported that effective January 19, the Right Eight Security Agency will now be replaced by First Eagle Security Agency, the winning bidder who will now be guarding the Dasmarinas Village in Makati. The guards involved will be absorbed by the latter.

For those unaware, the former security agency were involved in a sort of a stand-off with Junjun Binay, the current Mayor of Makati, and his convoy bodyguards who forcefully tried to use a village gate during the wee hours of the night. It was said that the security guards did not recognized the personalities involved and were just upholding their duty at the village to keep that particular gate closed.

If the news were accurate, the level of arrogance the Binay clan is exhibiting is quite alarming. This is much worse than wang-wang.

Apparently, the head of the said security agency, being a Binay supporter (according to Winnie Monsod), apologized to the Binays. However, the DVA officials and members praised the security guards instead for their actions and insisted that they did the right and honorable thing. Residents even gave gifts and rewards to the guards during the holiday season.

My initial reaction when the agency apologized to Binay was "poor guards", for being under this agency who instructs them to duly perform their duties..but take away their dignities by apologizing!

Now what's Right Eight security agency going to do with their "spokesperson" who made that blunder on speaking on behalf of DVA?

The homeowners' board said it is replacing the security company itself because it lost confidence in Right Eight because of its handling of the November 30, 2013 incident involving Vice-President Jejomar Binay's son and his group.

Right Eight Security committed "unauthorized and inaccurate representation of DVA to the media in matters pertaining to the Banyan gate incident. Right Eight management cited inaccurate policies involving VIPs. Our existing policy covers the President and the Vice-President of the Philippines. On a case-to-case basis, exemptions are granted, provided that ample time is given to DVA," says Jay Pantangco, President of the Dasmarinas Village Association Inc. (DVA).

"DasmariƱas Village is a private subdivision," he said. "DVA stands by the actions of our security guards, who in performing their duty, upheld DVA's existing policy and procedure during the incident."
"The DVA board is still fully committed to continue to uphold our policies for the security and safety of our residents"
