Rob Schneider Live in Manila : Congratulations to a Hilarious One Night Only!!!

Wazzup Pilipinas!

I did tell Rob Schneider that he was my favorite comedian. I can laugh all day at his style of comedy, and never get tired of watching his movies, lead-role or not. I laugh more at his wacky antics than his good friend Adam Sandler, especially when he plays a nemesis of sorts to Adam's character in the movie. His facial expressions, body movements, and those expressive eyes, are the best!

This 2011 Emmy-nominated actor never fails to impress me even when he does stand-up comedy. He said they'll be trying to perk up stand-up comedy for the world, and that includes the Philippines and the rest of Asia where he is doing a world tour and on their move to setup a project involving stand-up comedy.

His one night performance at the Solaire Resort and Casino was a real blast! My wife and I had the opportunity to watch him live and alive at the Grand Ballroom of Solaire Resort and Casino last October 28, also attended his morning presscon earlier that same same.

You could say Rob Schneider "knocked our socks off" or anything similar to that expression (not referring to any Google search result to confirm - I trust myself) both at the press conference and his performance. I could sense that he is truly proud to be half-Filipino and loves his family and mother (whom he mentions a lot on his jokes) so much. Congratulations also to his 11-month old baby!!! Rob Schneider is a proud, proud, proud father!!

And he is about to celebrate his 50th birthday is just a couple of weeks!!! Wow!! He doesn't look a bit like going to be 50!!! He did say that that is an advantage of being half-Filipino - you look a  lot younger as compared to other races.

I took videos of the Rob Schneider Q&A portion, and above is just part one of the videos. Be sure to come back for the rest of the videos soon or check my YouTube account at the Pinoy Tekkie channel.

I am also envying the guy who had brought inside the show a signage asking for a photo op from Rob. He got so lucky with so many "one more" photos with the man himself!!! Now, why didn't I think of that! Darn it!!...and I thought I was smart!!

Too bad they did not allow any photo or video taking during the show, but I'm always the "aggressive" one and I took a couple of photos using my phablet at the end of the show when Rob was already saying his goodbyes.

Rob had three Filipino stand-up comedian front acts during his show and everyone in the audience equally loved their performances as observed from all that laughter and applause. The acting event  host even had a slight accident and hurt his lips with the microphone, but the guy showed how great the Filipinos are because he used the accident as part of his act. It's now one memorable part of his stint.

Is this a sign that stand-up comedy acts comparable to Hollywood standards will have a great chance here in the country? I am hoping it will become a big hit! Just like theater plays, I admire live performers on stage who can deliver a successful show with no retakes. Unlike movies where you can repeat the acts, performing on stage requires you to ad lib, improvise and become resourceful. That is the mark of a true quality performer!

Thanks to TraveLife for partnering with Wazzup Pilipinas! The Wazzup Pilipinas logo and name may not be flashing and being mentioned, but we all know we proudly supported and promoted the event. Next events will be a great partnership!
