KTM Philippines Sends Top Young Racer to the KTM RC Cup Asia

Wazzup Pilipinas!

KTM Philippines is proud and excited to send a Filipino rider to the much-awaited KTM RC Cup Asia, 18-year old racing wunderkind Ralph Kenneth Torres.

Torres began his racing career in 2006. With over a decade’s experience on the track, he has bagged numerous trophies both locally and internationally, among them: the 2015 MOTO IR Champion; 2013 Golden Wheel Award Scooter Champion; 2012 IRGP Scooter Champion; 2010 115cc Underbone King Overall Champion; and the 160cc Scooter Class Overall Champion. These achievements have thus led to him to become the official KTM Philippines-Sponsored Rider, carrying the Philippine flag in this and other future races.

The KTM RC Cup Asia brings to the region for the first time one of the most anticipated and exciting international motorcycle racing series that is catching Europe and the Americas by storm. To be held at the challenging Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia this March to November 2017, the event sets out to support promising young riders by equipping them with the necessary skills to become truly ‘racing ready’.

The KTM RC Cup Asia has three categories – Orange, Silver, and Bronze. The Orange class is open to riders aged 14 to 22 who will race using KTM 390 race bikes with no modifications. Silver and Bronze, on the other hand, are for track-adapted standard KTM RC 390 and KTM RC 250/200 bikes and have no age limit.

Torres’ participation in the exhilarating KTM RC Cup Asia is keeping with the strong racing DNA of KTM motorbikes, all ready-to-race and built on the core values of purity, performance, adventure, and extreme. From 1953 when KTM was first founded, KTM motorcycles have since participated in many top races, both Rally and MotoGP, winning awards, recognition, and acclaim.

KTM motorcycles are manufactured in the Philippines by KTM Asia Motorcycle Manufacturing Philippines, Inc. (KAMMI), a joint-venture partnership between Adventure Cycle Philippines of the Ayala Group and KTM AG of Austria. For more information on the KTM RC Cup Asia, visit www.ktmrccup.com.
