Geeks on a Beach 4: International Tech and Startup Conference Soon in Bohol

Wazzup Pilipinas!

GOAB4 is coming! The “Geeks on a Beach” (GOAB) international tech and startup conference, which has greatly contributed in empowering Philippine startups, will return for the fourth year in the scenic island of Panglao in Bohol this August 25-26, 2016.

A press conference was held at the New World hotel in Makati led by TechTalks.ph Founder Tina Amper along with other partners in the event namely ICTO /DICT Deputy Executive Director Mon Ibrahim, Ideaspace Foundation Executive Director Diane Eustaquio, Smart Communications Developer Evangelist Paul Pajo, PLDT SME Nation Head of Community Partners Francis Oliva, PLDT ICT Researcha nd Development VP and Head Joey Limjap, and Happy Garaje Co-Founder Mark Deutsch, who all seated down as panel for a later discussion and Q&A with the members of the media.

With the theme “Empowering startups, leading change”, GOAB4 will once more highlight communities of startups or innovation-driven enterprises based on software or apps, which have seen remarkable growth in the Philippines in the last few years.

I am really excited as this will be my 2nd time to attend another GOAB event. I was there last year when they held it in Boracay last August and I definitely learned a lot about startup initiatives and got inspired to be as motivated as the founders of the many apps and other innovations the attendees showed us during the many talks and sharing of insights and information.

The best part is the opportunity to mingle with like-minded people and get to collaborate them in projects or similar tasks. Having the laid back environment where one can attend the conference even in shorts, and then l;ater on hang-out in the beach after, makes the event a lot more attractive for those who also want to have some fun while being serious about making a name or being recognized by fellow dreamers in the tech industry of mobile and web apps, and other amazing ideas.

The 4th GOAB will be the first startup event to be held right after the signing of the bill creating the Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT) last month.
