Burgoo Has New Delicious Treats Available for a Limited Time Only

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Your Pambansang Blogger was invited to try the new dishes of Burgoo American Bar and Restaurant they appropriately called "Delicious Treats" at the SM Marikina branch just a few rides away from our residence. These sumptuous new treats are available at a limited time only so it's your opportunity to try them out soon before they are gone for good.

Of course, if the demand for them is high, I'm sure these dishes will come back to become a permanent part of the regular menu. This is how Burgoo takes care of their customers by keeping their interest high, and their tummies satisfied, with new offerings every now and then.

Just as how they served the Fruity Ice Cream for the summer season which allowed us to feast on Nestle vanilla and chocolate ice cream topped with special fruit bits like strawberries, cherries and bananas.

It was my first time to visit SM Marikina but the trip was smooth and easy that I actually arrived an hour before the call time. The Burgoo American Bar and Restaurant was equally easy to find with the help of security guards whom I asked for directions immediately upon entering the mall.

Filipino-owned American restaurant concept but the restaurant has evolved into more of a family restaurant rather than a bar. It serves good old comfort foods made famous by Western influences but has centered basically on the Burgoo (ber-goo) iconic dish which is the traditional stew that they serve. It's already good as a complete and heavy enough dish taht would surely satisfy your craving for something worth your every peso.

"A typical burgoo is a combination of meats: pork, chicken, mutton or beef, often hickory-smoked, but other meats are seen occasionally; and vegetables, such as lima beans, corn, okra, tomatoes, cabbage and potatoes. Typically, since burgoo is a slow-cooked dish, the starch from the added vegetables results in thickening of the stew." - Wikipedia

Since it's an American restaurant concept, the decors inside the restaurant depicts exactly what you'd expect from the American joints highlighting the yesteryears of the USA.

Wild Wild Wings (P595)
They have the Wild Wild Wings (P595), which are four kinds of chicken or Buffalo wings coated with four different flavors namely picante, sour cream, oklahoma and buffalo chili sauce served with Bleu cheese dressing. There's supposed to be a spicy one among the four kinds as they said but I guess there was not enough chili for me to taste the spiciness.  I liked the sour cream best since it's not very often we encounter a flavor like it.

Lamb Ragu Bucatini (P495)
The Lamb Ragu Bucatini (P495) is Bucatini pasta cooked in red wine and tomato sauce and topped with tender lambs and bacon with onions. It is served with garlic bread. It was absolutely tasty and different from other pasta dishes I have tried, with special mention to the extraordinary pasta that's actually hollow in the middle. I would have loved to consume everything except that it was a bit oily at the bottom part.

Sicilian Pizza (P495)
The gourmet thin crusted Sicilian Pizza (P495) is topped with pomodoro sauce, mozzarella cheese, roasted mushrooms and huge tomato slices, and then baked to perfection with julienne basil. The first thing you'll notice are the humongous tomato slices that will surely make you curios of how this pizza will taste. I love the combination of ingredients that makes a very interesting taste that's not so common and truly satisfying.

Burgoo Fruity Ice Cream
We got an extra treat with their Fruity Ice Cream filled with fresh fruits, and the irresistible Burgoo Oreo Cheesecake (P195) that was a fitting ending to this yummy dining experience at Burgoo SM Marikina.

The vanilla and chocolate ice cream from Nestle became extra special with fresh fruit toppings composed of bananas, strawberries and cherries. I believe it's two scoops of ice cream per flavor so that makes it four sweet scoops of heaven.

Burgoo Oreo Cheesecake
The Oreo Cheesecake is always a must try to literally have sweet memorable endings every meal time at Burgoo. This should be everyone's all-time favorite to linger on your taste buds all throughout the day.

Wacky poses from the Burgoo Kitchen Crew
The hardworking kitchen crew deserve a break from all that cooking so a photo ops for Wazzup Pilipinas might just do the trick. More wacky expressions please. Maybe next time when we return they could do better poses.

More wacky poses from the Burgoo dining crew
Thank you to the crew of Burgoo American Bar and Restaurant for their warm hospitality, and the help with describing the new dishes while it was served. They need more training in doing wacky poses, or maybe we'll do some selfies or groupfies next time. Lol!

Morato in Quezon City; Powerplant Mall in Rockwell Makati; The Podium in Ortigas; Gateway Mall in Araneta Center Cubao; Robinsons Galleria in Ortigas; SM City The Block in North EDSA; Mall of Asia in Pasay; SM City Marikina: SM Southmall in Alabang, The District in Cavite, The Terraces Mall in Fairview, Vista Mall in Taguig and the newly-opened Solenad 3 in Sta Rosa Laguna.
