Miss Bikini Philippines 2016 Special Awards at the Media Presentation

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Congratulations to Miss Bikini Philippines 2016 candidates #3 (Clarise Perez), #24 (Christine Opiaz), #25 (Ivy Tapic)  and #16 (Gregelhi Pahilga) for the special awards they received at the media presentation of the Slimmers World International beauty pageant celebrating the beauty of the Filipina at a higher level as it continues to set trends in the search of the lady who will represent Asia's leader in slimming, fitness, health and beauty.

Now on its 9th year, Slimmers World International takes a turn to high fashion with Miss Bikini Philippines 2016. The beauty pageant continues to take the country by storm as it brings out the best bikini figures in the nation. After months of screening, 30 candidates have been chosen to heat up the ramp as the competition takes on high fashion for this year’s theme.

On May 15, Ms. Bikini Philippines opened the competition with a press launch and the pre-pageant at the Diamond Hotel Manila. As expected, it was attended by many members of the media including some who participated as judges to rate every contestant so the organizers can determine who the people think really stands out.

There are two parts of the media presentation - a swimsuit presentation with creative posing and Q&A in the morning, and a long or evening gown competition in the afternoon. The hosts were both vibrant enough to keep the mood of the audience alive and at awe even after a hard fall by one of the candidates who quickly stood up and continued her catwalk.

Can you see any sign of cellulite? Maybe we can find some if we go a little closer using a digital camera with high resolution shots. I've heard from one of the hosts that the competition takes special attention to those persistent subcutaneous fat causing dimpling of the skin, especially on women's hips and thighs, and that those should be zero or almost non-visible for a candidate of Miss Bikini Philippines 2016.

The judges for the creative posing segment include Jeff Fernando of ABS-CBN 2, CJ Marfori of TV5, Nelson Canlas of GMA 7, Jeff Dela Paz of Diamond Hotel, Helen Manansala Camacho of Slimmers World International, International Beauty Queen trainer Makoy Manlapaz of Gouldian, Aubrey Carampel Aricheta of GMA and Indie actress Althea Vega. The judges for the evening gown competition were fashion designers Mikee Andrei and Frederick Peralta, Miss Bikini Philippines 2015 1st Runner Up Angelu Gonzales, and Helen Manansala Camacho of Slimmers World International.

Among the 30 candidates, I have picked my own favorites based on their looks, bodies and appeal. I must have picked a handful during the first part when they were still wearing an almost transparent cloth above their bikinis or swimsuits, but it honestly went up when they finally walked the runway wearing only their two-piece swimsuits.

The winner of the evening gown competition will be announced on the grand coronation night on May 20, 2016 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Resorts World Manila.

The candidates are housed together and will be undertaking a regimen implemented by certified physical therapists, licensed nutritionists and dieticians from Slimmers World. This ensures that all candidates are well-prepared for the Grand Coronation Night this May 20 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Resorts World Manila.

I was lucky to have been given the opportunity to have a photo with Althea Vega. This lady is superbly fit and fab!

The road to being a beauty queen isn’t only about glitz and glamour; it’s also about being a catalyst of change through different advocacies. This is why I believe every woman is leading most of the changes we are experiencing almost everyday. From our homes, at our school or work, and everywhere else you go, the women have become so competitive that they could even surpass men when it comes to every aspect of life.

Change is coming, and who else to guide our new President of the country but a woman. This woman would soon become the Vice President, and I am hopeful that a woman's natural instinct would give her the wisdom to govern fairly and appropriately so that our country would soon rise from being a third world country. Our future President even openly admired the beauty of his Vice President which we all know is true. Thus, even the tough man from Davao has a weakness for beautiful women which is proof that behind every well-motivated and determined man is a supportive beautiful inside-and-out woman.
