Wazzup Pilipinas!

For the first time in the history of University of the Philippines (UP), the three premiere photography organizations of UP will unveil a joint photography exhibition titled “Luwalhati: A Photography Exhibit” which will be displayed at different UP campuses from April 18 to May 6, 2016.

The UP Photographers’ Society (UP Los Baños), Shoot UP Manila (UP Manila), and UP Photography Society or OPTICS (UP Diliman) will showcase 100 photographs of different genres taken by young photographers studying in the university. Different visual interpretations revolving around the central theme “luwalhati” or glorification will be presented in the photography exhibit.

Luwalhati is the first collaborative work of the three official photography organizations of UP. The exhibition aims to feature some of the works of young photography enthusiasts and to promote photography as a whole. The exhibit will travel along three UP campuses starting in UP Los Baños on April 18 to 22, UP Manila on April 25 to 29 and finally in UP Diliman on May 2 to 6.

In line with the event, a nationwide online photography contest will be launched on April 18, along with the exhibit's opening ceremony at UPLB. The contest will end on May 3 and two winners (Voter's Choice an Overall Winner) will take home Nikon products.

This event is in partnership with Nikon Philippines and Toyota Philippines, and some of the minor sponsors include Surprises Out of Boxes, Beyanka's Catering and Sitsirya.
