Senior Theater Students of Miriam College Proudly Presents "Tanikalang Korona"

Wazzup Pilipinas!

How far can one endure the rottenness of a crumbling home?

The Senior Theater students of Miriam College in cooperation with the Applied Arts Society (AASOC), presents “Tanikalang Korona,” an adaptation of Layeta Bucoy’s Tatlong Prinsesa, Dalawang Ina, Isang Hangal. This is under the direction of Mr. Abner Delina Jr. and supervision of Mr. Armando Rutaquio Jr.

The play tells a spinoff story of King Lears’ three daughters: Gonerila, Regania and Cordelia, longing for the love from their parents but given the wrong affection by their father. Prisoners in their own home, they do not know where to go.

The play aims to present the ‘men in women.’ There is no sight of any man but it bends gender boundaries by presenting the sense of manhood in the female characters, while the story exposes miscommunication, misunderstanding, abuse, and identity crisis that shatter family relationships.

Tanikalang Korona runs on March 17 (Thursday), 18 (Friday) and 19 (Saturday), 2016, 7pm at the Miriam College, Arts and Design Studio (ADS) Trellis.
