School of Life - Pochology 101: Passion Statement

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Why did you wake up this morning? What got you out of your bed and into the shower, to changing your clothes to leaving the house to go to wherever you need to go?

For most people, the answer is one and the same – to work and earn money.

But let me ask you… if that’s all you do day in and day out, does it make you HAPPY?

There’s nothing wrong with earning money. We all need money to fulfill some basic needs, and that includes me. But when money becomes your primary motivation to do anything, you end up tired and sad and bitter because you know in your heart there’s something ELSE you would like to do.

That something else is your PASSION.

We all have something that we are passionate about doing. Whether it’s basketball or writing poems or dancing or teaching, each one of us has something that we’d love to do, we would actually do it over and over and over again… even without getting paid!

And that’s what passion is all about. Passion is the fire that burns inside you, so strong that it ignites the passion of the people around you. Passion is the force that drives you out of bed without the need to hit the snooze button. Passion is that strong desire to make a difference in the world with your skills and talents.

For me, that passion is the VOICE. That’s why everything I do revolves around it. I am a voice artist, I broadcast on the radio, I do training and motivational speaking. Even after 20 years, I still do many voiceover projects and motivational talks for FREE… because it is more important for me to use my voice to make other people better and happy, than to be paid for it.

That’s why my mantra is, “With pureness in my heart, I will use my skills and talents to make other people better and happy, with greatness and excellence.” And if you don’t see the passion in that statement, I don’t know what will.

What about you? What’s your “passion statement”? I challenge you to write yours today.
