There's Always Room For Dessert in Cebu

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Cebu's Room For Dessert by Casa Verde is the newest restaurant offspring of the Casa Verde group of restaurants. It was one of the many restaurants I visited during my Sinulog weekend adventure. A weekend of resto hopping, church visits, fireworks display watching and public commuting.

I've explored Cebu going from one destination to another and figuring out how to do it via their public transportation of multi-cabs, "habal-habals," buses, and taxis.

It was truly very busy days of January 15 to 17 for me in Cebu. Those three days were apparently not enough to accommodate everything I wanted to do. You'll need several more days to fully appreciate the beauty of Cebu.

I was grateful that Casa Verde management let me experienced a dining adventure at two of their restaurants. It would have been more, but the days were simply not enough to visit every restaurant they have in Cebu.

The Sinulog festivities sort of also made some roads closed temporary so they could make way for the grand parade happening on Sunday the 17th. Thus, I could only work my way in and out of Cebu during the 15th and 16th.

There are some construction still ongoing s the mall is fairly new in Cebu. It boast of being huge and will house a lot of commercial establishments including several other restaurants. Just opposite the Room For Dessert restaurant is the mother restaurant Casa Verde.

Casa Verde already has branches even in Manila so this restaurant brand is so respectable that it expanded already in our Manila neighborhood. There are so many brands from Cebu that already made their way to Manila because of high quality and value for money. Room For Dessert tops the list in Cebu now for being the only dessert place with some unique dessert ideas, and eventually they would soon add more to their menu.

There is also nothing stopping them from putting up a branch in Manila if the brand will spark interest among Cebuanos and tourists who visit Cebu regularly.

Room for Dessert is exactly as it name implies - a room where you and your friends or families can enjoy pleasant dessert choices!

I knew they were counting on their ice cream specials to stir an interest! But their other specialties would easily match up to your everyday favorites.

Room For Dessert was still polishing up on its indoors. But it won't take that much time before it's finally done. As of the time I visited, it was already accepting customers even though they would soon be completing other parts of the restaurant.

I met with Patricia and Therese from Casa Verde who entertained me on just about everything. It was just sort of awkward having to eat while they were watching. I felt like under a microscope or being probed upon. Lol.

Nevertheless, the dining experience proved to be fulfilling. I've been always fascinated with the taste of all kinds of ice cream that the first dessert was ultra pleasing. There is nothing else much better than having ice cream for dessert.

I was served with what they call Tings' Heavenly Chocolate. It was premium soft vanilla ice cream in a cup with cotton candy all around plus Kitkat chocolate bars and candy-coated chocolates nips on top. I imagine children going wild over this concoction. It was truly appealing to the sight and makes you want to dig in and enjoy it immediately before the cotton candy and ice cream melt.

They also served me some of their cold blended drinks while I munch away non-stop on the Ting's Heavenly Chocolate dessert. I was discussing with them at the same time enjoying my sweet treat.

They also have sandwiches like the Turkey Sandwich they served me. It's not very often you get to have turkey as an option for a sandwich so this is probably a plus point for them. I can imagine tasting turkey whenever I feel like it. Too bad they only have this lonesome branch in Cebu located at  the very newly constructed SM Seaside Mall.

The Turkey Sandwich was so filling already. They wanted me to order more but I simply couldn't have so much in just one seating. The mind was willing but the body was to full to eat more. I guess I'm starting to appreciate the art of subtly lowering my food intake. My discipline is working and I'm very happy with it.

As I requested a cold drink for the go, we discussed my next visit to their other restaurant located at Ayala Triangle Mall in Cebu. So be sure to watch out for it soon. I'm trying to do a chronological order of my adventure in Cebu so the food trip articles are done one after the other in the order I visited them.
