Mesclun Restaurant and Cafe: A Festive Feast Fit for a Family of Five

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Every family staycation deserves a grand meal for all the members of the family. My wife and three kids all deserve nothing but the best meals and where else can they conveniently get it but from only a few floors below from our 20th floor hotel room.

I know one of the giant malls in the metro is just nearby with so many restaurants to choose from within its floors. But why go far when there is already a restaurant that can already provide quality meals.

Aside from the 9th floor where the indoor pool and gym are located, the other most important floor at The Linden Suites is the 2nd floor where the Mesclun Restaurant and Cafe is located and ready to serve you for breakfast from 6 am to 10 am during weekdays and until 11 am during weekends.

The M in their logo is of course means Mesclun which is actually a salad mix of assorted small, young salad green leaves, that originated in Provence, France. It's what they named the restaurant at The Linden Suites which became our family weekend dining destination for our dinner and breakfast meals during our stay at the hotel.

Normally, some hotels will provide complimentary breakfast only. But this time, we were treated with a very sumptuous order-all-you-want dinner at the said restaurant.

They were generous enough to let us order anything we want from the menu. Now that's pampering to the extreme. They even wanted to treat us for some snacks on the same day when we arrived but night time was already fast approaching so we settled to wait for dinner instead to make room for their fabulous menu.

Power Shake
"I've got the power!" I exclaimed. Who wouldn't when you're drinking one of the healthiest drink in town that they even called it the Power Shake. Made from a mixture of fruits and veggies, this power drink might even make you a super-powered hero someday - if you keep drinking it. So stay away from colas and artificially-flavored drinks! Go for where there's power!!!

Surf and Turf Tapas
Tenderloin salpicados, gambas and herbed skillet potatoes is what comprises the Surf and Turf Tapas starter dish at Mesclun Restaurant and Cafe of The Linden Suites. Just what starters were meant to be, to tweak the appetite to a frenzy.

Smoked Salmon Salad
Mesclun Restaurant and Cafe has salads that can provoke your taste buds into wanting more even before the main entree. You can find plenty of reason to cheat on their Smoked Salmon Salad to the extent of keeping it all for yourself. Relax, it was meant for sharing and Mesclun Restaurant has more fabulous dishes coming your way.

Cream of Mushroom Soup
Now I know not all Cream of Mushroom Soups were made equal. I was trying to order something extra ordinary out from the menu but my children insisted they want the good old familiar favorite. Mesclun Restaurant and Cafe promises to stimulate a tingling sensation to spark more interests to your dining experience. Soup should never be skipped after all. It's what makes the whole meal complete and fulfilling.

Tomato Tortilla Soup
Mesclun Restaurant and Cafe's Tomato Tortilla Soup aims to please well. We ordered this along with the Cream of Mushroom Soup because I was keen on trying out something new. True enough, I was not disappointed. The experience was soothingly flavorful but it seems I was alone in the choice since my kids preferred the sweeter soup variety.

Parma Ham Pizza
Quality above quantity, Mesclun Restaurant and Cafe's Parma Ham Pizza raises the bar of what pizza should be. It doesn't try to be overt because it's in its simplicity which makes it a level above the rest.

Tenderloin Steak with Blue Cheese
Mesclun Restaurant and Cafe's Tenderloin Steak with Blue Cheese is thei restaurant's most expensive steak dish that comes with U.S. Angus Tenderloin Beef, spinach, garlic mashed potatoes and blue cheese sauce. Don't worry, they added just the right amount of blue cheese to enhance the steak's taste to its optimum. It's better when the steak is done medium rare as what all steaks should be, but if you're picky like my wife who wants it well done, we compromised to make it medium well instead.

One Half (1/2) Pound Angus Burger
But wait there's more! Mesclun Restaurant and Cafe also served us the One Half (1/2) Pound Angus Burger. It was a bit salty for our taste but the huge serving became better than ever after a few more bites. Add the side fries and salad greens to make a great combination with the mustard, ketchup and mayo.

Spaghettini Al Chorizo Pomodoro
The Spaghettini Al Chorizo Pomodoro at Mesclun Restaurant and Cafe at The Linden Suites was a mouthful to mention, and so does our every bite of these special angel hair pasta dish.

Lasagna Maison
Mesclun Restaurant and Cafe's Lasagna Maison is made of of ground beef, tomato sauce and bechamel. It is obviously better than the lasagna from fastfood chains and offers a more satisfying and delightful flavor that's memorable enough for all diners. It will rise above any challenge within its level of standards.

Almond Rocha Slice
Carrot Cake
Creme Brulee Cake
Japanese Cheesecake
Mango and Condensed Milk Crepe
Everyone decided to order a different dessert each so we could all taste as many as possible from the Mesclun at the Linden Suites restaurant and bar. It looks like our choices were guided by a higher spirit since each one was absolutely heavenly. Their pastry chef should be very proud of his or her accomplishment. My wife even wanted to bring the pastry chef home with us.

So what do we have here: Almond Rocha Slice, Carrot Cake, Creme Brulee Cake, Japanese Cheesecake, and the Mango and Condensed Milk Crepe - a whole lot of blessed loving from above.

The Del Rosario family with Mesclun Restaurant and Cafe staff
Thank you Mesclun Restaurant and Cafe of The Linden Suites for having us at your restaurant for dinner, and of course for breakfast as well (but that's another story i would be willing to share again soon at a separate blog post).

We would like to thank the duty chefs that night, namely Moonray Savid, Rommel Capito, Jayson Sarza and Mart Almores. Their pastry chefs Rose Valderama, Robert Sarcon and Kaye Celeste. Their Sous Chefs Neil Arcilla and Alvin Andrada. Also to Sam Apostol, Greg Distor, Rommel Baldos, Bong Cabra, Efren Rima, Jayson Manayag, Paolo Menguito, and the others who I forgot to mention that made this dining experience possible.

We will cherish every memory, and fat, gained from the festive feast fit for a family of five.
