Determining and Formulating Objectives, Lesson Planning and the K-12 Plan

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Lessons are the building blocks of learning. Each lesson has its own prerequisite steps and is also the application of the metacognitive and the scaffolding process. We can say that they are the significant substantial aids in order to assist the students’ acquisition of knowledge as well as their capability to perform, employ and create.

One of the concepts we educators have tackled was Bloom’s Taxonomy, which ultimately tells us the way of distinguishing the fundamental questions and the manifestation of higher order thinking skills like analysis and creation. Formulating objectives which concur with this concept like using words corresponding with the levels of Bloom’s taxonomy is a great start, which is exhibited by one of the K to 12’s defining features which is the spiral curriculum. When it is time for us to create our learning plans, we should make sure that it is understandable in the eyes of our students.

In order to carry out the necessary steps of an ideal lesson, we must first construct effective yet realistic goals. The purpose of a lesson is its heart and the execution is its mind. Instilling the benefits of each lesson is quite achievable, provided that there are appropriate and adept objectives. Placing ourselves in the perspectives of the students and making them aware of possible academic achievements beforehand makes a worthwhile and active learning plan.

Crafting a good learning plan also produces numerous advantages. For one, it helps us educators to make excellent use of our time. Nowadays, with the K to 12 curriculum underway, it helps us promote interaction and student participation. When I am in front, I will remember to follow my prepared learning plan as it guarantees a successful outcome.
