Asian Air Safari Holds Special Preview of Season 10 Episodes

Wazzup Pilipinas!

We recently got invited to the the special premier of two new episodes for Season 10 of the Asian Air Safari travel show featured regularly on the ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC). The event was held at Cinema 3 of EDSA Shangri-La Mall in Mandaluyong on January 19, 2016.

Capt. Joy Roa, along with most of his staff, was personally there to facilitate the event. There was good food, wine, and some raffle prizes courtesy of some sponsors.

The special premiere featured some episodes at random order namely the Part 1 of their Turkey episode, and the Part 2 of their Rwanda episode.

Turkey Part 1: Discovering the Turkish Riviera is Episode 8, while Rwanda Part 2: Gorillas in our Midst is Episode 11. The two episodes shown in the screening are both halves of two-part adventures.

Both are exciting adventures. The first one was through the Turkish Mediterranean coast, and the second one with the mountain gorillas of Rwanda, which are both worth seeing on the big screen.

The above photo shows Capt. Joy being friendly with the mountain gorillas who allowed him to get near to them thanks to his guide.

Below are some photos from the episodes:

Turkey Part 1 featured the province of Antalya by the Mediterranean Coast; a visit to the Antalya Archaeological Museum; the Kaleici, Antalya’s old town; well-preserved ruins in Perge and the Roman theater in Aspendos.

Rwanda Part 2 featured a helicopter flight, a game drive, and staying in a tent with the wild animals in Akagera National Park; a visit to Iby Iwacu Village, a community of ex-poachers who are now giving people a glimpse of typical village life in Rwanda; and a trek to see the last remaining mountain gorillas in the world at the Virunga mountain range at the Volcanoes National Park in Musanze.

I was especially laughing out loud at the Rwanda episode because there was a lot of humorous scenes. From the hippos to the mountain gorillas, that particular episode was so remarkable. To also have an up close and personal meeting with the seemingly tamed mountain gorillas was an awesome spectacle. Seeing them mingle with these huge animals was so thought-provoking. It is during these times when you want to envy Capt. Joy for being so fortunate. To be the host of the Asian Air Safari travel show really has a lot of perks.

Roman Theater in Aspendos
For Turkey, the Asian Air Safari team were assisted by Turkish Embassy, headed by Her Excellency Ezra Cankorur, along with the Mediterranean Tour Operators (METEOR) in Manila, and Orion Tours in Turkey.

For Rwanda, they were assisted by the Rwanda Development Board (RDB).

Both episode were also supported by the Turkish Airlines.

Imagine several people of position and influence that you would get to meet producing these episodes. The production is doing a lot of work, but I feel it is all worth it since the experiences they can share to the world are historically timeless and informative.

The targeted airing dates of the full episodes (Part 1 and 2 of both Turkey and Rwanda) on ANC are:

February 14 - Turkey Part 1: Discovering the Turkish Riviera
February 21 - Turkey Part 2: A Land of Surprises
February 28 - Rwanda Part 1: The Land of a Thousand Hills
March 6 - Rwanda Part 2: Gorillas in our Midst

They will have their grand coronation night on February 9 at the Manila Peninsula Hotel.
