The Eatles: A Taste of John, Paul, George and Ringo ...Plus Chef Matthew

Wazzup Pilipinas!

There's a new restaurant at P. Noval near the corner of Dapitan, University of Santo Tomas (UST) that showcases British memorabilia and other icons reminiscent of the swinging sixties! Every corner of the restaurant is Instagrammable! From the moment you stepped in to what seems to be a telephone booth, to the very first sight of a London-inspired bu, you'll never stop posting photo updates on your social media accounts with so many spots at the restaurant that's full of memorabilias from the good old days when everything was really cool.

Who else is very popular but the iconic Beatles band composed of John, Paul, George, and Ringo where The Eatles restaurant got their name. The owners just dropped the letter B from the Beatles and now they serve affordable meals to many of the students near the UST campus.

The fast-rising-in-popularity restaurant has what seems to be a replica of a London bus inside which serves as their kitchen partition where you'll see the adorable French chef named Matthew with his kitchen crew busy preparing your orders. They have some al fresco dining seats up front aside from the seats inside the restaurant. The restaurant is small so it may be awkward to stay long or hang around for the Wi-Fi just as what most people, especially students, do at coffee shops.

The food choices are plenty and absolutely tasty for a price that's fit for the average college student's allowance. They offer British-inspired dishes named after the songs and members of The Beatles. According to the chef, their specialty are the burgers. We were able to try one where they used black buns made dark with squid ink. They have different kinds of burgers and the one they served us was very satisfying.

I would have written this story immediately after our visit at The Eatles but the owners have yet to send us the names and prices of the dishes we ate. I will update this post with the actual names and prices of the dishes as soon as I get the info.

Walk up the stairs towards the portal from the present back to the 1960s. The London telephone booth will greet you as you enter the restaurant. It's practically a door to a whole new world. Nostalgic, this significantly gave memories of the Dr. Who TV series from which you enter through a telephone booth to see a bigger space inside.

The place is not just frequented by students and faculty but of many other customers from around the neighborhood. You'll often see the place full during lunch or break periods as the place is not only known for its great and allowance-friendly meals but also because the chef is a charmer.

Students frequent the restaurant so much since it's perfectly suited to their preference.

Dining al fresco is encouraged especially for smokers who want to unwind after a filling meal.

With so many memorabilia on display at the restaurant's walls, there's a lot of conversation that is sure to be heard in and out of The Eatles restaurant. If you're a Beatles lover, you'll go gaga with the retro throwback.

Video Interview with Chef Matthew of the Eatles. He was more than willing to share his story to us...and I imagine how the girls ogle over him every time they come to eat at The Eatles. He is probably always part of the photo ops for many of the newer customers.

Smoothies for drinks are high favorites. Guess which one I drank, and oh boy! I am grateful I was invited to this bloggers food tasting event organized by Open Rice. These smoothies and shakes are truly refreshing!

The veggie salads and soups are great starters to perk up your day before the main meals.

Their fish and chips is placed in a cute cone-shaped holder reminiscent of how it was done before. I still do see some people fold paper to make up a cone-shape container and then put whatever little stuff inside, but that is now very rare.

I love the buffalo wings - chicken pieces that were spiced just right! It was crispy outside but tender inside. Dip them into its accompanying mayo and you'll swoon with delight.

The Eatles take their burgers seriously! It's not my first time to see a a burger with black buns but this one at The Eatles can claim the winning taste that would entice everyone else to keep coming back for more. Though the beef patty seems not proportionate to the size of the bun, the price is budget-friendly.

Barbecues or kebabs would always be a big hit especially if you partner it with another culinary enhancer. It comes with a cup of rice to complete the meal. Dig in and enjoy!

The three kinds of pasta they served seems to be small in serving due to the huge plate but the little actually meant a lot more after we've tasted it. The pasta was never soggy, and the "cheesiness" and "sauciness" were just right to satisfy our craving.

Dessert overload! The cheesecakes and everything else are dreamy! Not too sweet and deliciously filling! They are what good dreams are made of. I want to have a slice every visit.

Thank you for the opportunity to try out some of the many dishes of The Eatles. Kudos to the chef for coming out with so many great choices. Student meals are now made cool with these kind of restaurants that do not only offer great food but a superb ambiance that will keep convincing you to come back again and again.

Thank you to the management for the special delish treat. I give you my two thumbs up and seal of approval. We will definitely be coming back soon!
