PBEX 2015: The Biggest Business Expo and Learning Events

Wazzup Pilipinas!

It seems many are really encouraged to go into business even after immediately graduating from college. There are so many young and bright minds out there that are inspired to put into action their own ideas instead of just working as an employee for a firm or organization.

The proliferation of many business ventures from restaurants to online apps, and a lot more, is probably a sign of a good economy, or the people just realized that the best way to score bigger bucks is to be the boss of their own business. Startups has increased in number and their ages are incredibly young in their 20s. Some of them can't even wait to finish college as they setup their first online business thru the power of the Internet and the virility of social media initiatives.

Wazzup Pilipinas was a media partner for the 6th Philippine Business and Entrepreneurs' Expo held last July 17 to 19, 2015 at the Megatrade Halls 2 and 3 of SM Megamall. That's three days of expo from over 200 brands, both big and small, and undoubtedly very fulfilling afternoons of learning from talks conducted by many experienced business and entrepreneurship personalities.

The first day was graced by Assistant Secretary Blessila Lantayona from the Regional Operations Group of the Department of Trade and Industry who led the ribbon cutting ceremonies where a dragon dance was also included. She was joined by Michelle Ballesteros, CEO of Ex-Link Events as well as other notable VIPs. The guest of honors roam around the different booth at the expo before proceeding to the conference area.

The afternoon activity on the first day was the ASEAN SME Business Conference where resource speakers like Sandy Sanchez Montano, VP for CHEERS; Prof. Nestor Raneses, Director of Institute for Small Scale Industries from the University of the Philippines, Donald Lim, Chief Digital Officer of ABS-CBN, Dr. Joeffre Maddatu Calimag, Ph.D., Professor in International Business Management of DMKompass, Inc.; and Nato Agbayani, COO of Globaltronics.

This was happening at the same time a series of Negosyo Power seminars were being held at another corner of the Megatrade Halls.

The second afternoon was the Business Readiness and Disaster Preparedness Summit, while the third afternoon was the Travel Business Forum. Both afternoon activities also had several resource speakers who share their own experiences and insights as per their expertise.

The three days of the PBEX 2015 was filled with many opportunities to network, collaborate, sell and do business, meet potential partners or simply listen and be inspired from the many success stories you'll discover from both the business and the owner.

From what I've learned from going around the many booths of the expo, and from thoroughly understanding what the speakers were sharing, the digital world we call online has become a necessity for all businesses, even advocacies and other movements.
The online world has indeed made an exponentially big difference in reaching out to s many people as possible. It is thus should be an automatic effort for every business to always establish an omline presence.

There is a saying that if your business is not online, then your business will soon be out of business.
