Camp Braveheart 9: Nurturing Hearts with Compassion

Wazzup Pilipinas!

The Phi Kappa Mu Fraternity together with the Philippine Heart Association (PHA) Council on Congenital Heart Disease present the Camp Braveheart IX: Nurturing Hearts with Compassion to be held at the Enchanted Kingdom, Sta. Rosa, Laguna on the 28th of February 2015. Camp Braveheart is an annual whole day activity which treats over a hundred children with congenital heart disease to a day filled with fun activities and seminars for their parents, all designed to empower and uplift their lives. Co-founded by our brod, Dr. Jose Jonas Dino Del Rosario F 1986, more than 500 kids age 5-15 years old had joined us since 2007.

The Phi Kappa Mu Fraternity of the UP College of Medicine has rendered unrelenting service to the Filipino people through the countless projects aimed towards the uplifting of the country’s health situation.

Celebrating its 82nd year, the Fraternity has served as a bastion of medical excellence in the Philippines since its founding. Boasting within its ranks persons such as Dr. Enrique T. Ona F1957, former Department of Health Secretary; Dr. Teodoro J. Herbosa F 1979, current DOH Undersecretary; Dr. Manuel T. Chua Chiaco F 1967, current Philippine Heart Center Director; Dr. Jose C. Gonzales F 1969A, current Philippine General Hospital Director; Dr. Jose Britanico S. Pujalte F 1990, current Philippine Orthopedic Center Director; and Dr. Manuel B. Agulto F 1969A, former UP Manila Chancellor, the Fraternity defines the very institution that is Philippine Health Care.

Through the socio-civic arm of the Fraternity, the Pagkalinga para sa Kalusugan ng Mamamayan (PAGKALMA), flagship projects such as the Empowerment Through Mobility (ETM), in partnership with the Free Wheelchair Mission, that bestows thousands of wheelchairs to indigents throughout the country, the Operating Room Assistance Program (OPERA) that provides for hundreds of financially-challenged patients in need of life-saving surgery, Operation Blood Brother, which aims to augment the low supply of blood of the Philippine General Hospital, Rehabilitation, Improvement and Child Empowerment (R.I.C.E.) Project that supports the Bantay Bata 163 Children’s Village, and PHI Gawad Kalinga Village which seeks to build a sustainable community through primary health care. In addition to these major undertakings, the Fraternity has other means of reaching out to the people: medical, surgical, and relief missions around the country that pock our calendars the whole year round.

The Philippine Heart Association Council on Congenital Heart Disease and the Philippine Society of Pediatric Cardiology in cooperation with The Phi Kappa Mu Fraternity and the Phi Lambda Delta Sorority and Sanare proudly bring you
