BGC Run Urban Adventure: An All-Out Test of Smarts and Speed

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Just how well do you know the Bonifacio Global City (BGC) neighborhood?

That's the challenge all must face as they try to solve diverse sets of mind-gripping puzzles coupled with the need for endurance and stamina as everyone proceeded to their next grueling tasks.

Wazzup Pilipinas thought we were there just to cover the run but was surprised to be invited to participate in the actual fun run itself. So your friendly neighborhood pambansang blogger had to sweat it all out and run wearing his trusted jeans all over BGC. It was a good thing I was wearing rubber shoes that day.

Each challenge of the BGC Run Urban Adventure was never easy as it requires team work and a lot of patience and perseverance plus the fact that the weather was not a big help when it drizzled a bit offering a tougher challenge for all fun run participants.

But this was no ordinary fun run because it required the power of the brain aside from just sweating it all out from all that running from one point to another. Armed with smartphones and cameras, we took photos of our completed tasks as proof we actually performed all of them. We even found ourselves going back and forth trying to figure out where the elusive man wearing the Andres Bonifacio costume was.

In short, the BGC Run Urban Adventure was no child's play as it was sort of impossible to complete all challenges without sacrificing all resting time... and don't get me started with the awful weather that was a threat to both health and safety.

Unlike other cities, BGC proves to be among the safest cities in the Metro if not the leader as we found very little difficulty traversing the paths excruciatingly following the maps provided. It was pedestrian friendly as priority were given to street walkers rather than the motorists. Plus there were lots of shaded areas that you can stop and take a breather.

What made us enjoy the fun run was the opportunity to work as a team even though there was a confusion on the guidelines that forced us to give up during the middle of the challenges. It was also getting dark thus another dilemma aside from the drizzle and cold weather.

I also have to comment on the lack of enough water provisions as I think there were only two spots where they provide water to the fun run participants. Nonetheless, we did enjoy the fun run especially at the very start of the event. We've witnessed how each other made all efforts to solve the engaging puzzles and manage to do each task with utmost energy. Lots of photo opportunities too while doing the challenges.

Our biggest frustration from all of these completed task? We sort of lost all enthusiasm when we learned we had to be complete as a team (except for the one taking the shot) in the photos in order for the task to be accepted.

If it was our team leader's fault or the person who gave the instruction, it no longer matters. The most important is that we got to enjoy the opportunity to take part in this amazing urban adventure within BGC even for just a short time.

Below are some more photos of the other participants of the BGC Run Urban Adventure.

Everything about the fun run was in one way or another related to Andres Bonifacio. The run was held last November 29, 2014 of which the next day is Andres Bonifacio Day. The life of a blogger is to experience the actual event so as to effectively write about it.

The BGC Run Urban Adventure was truly an all-out test of smarts and speed for all who dared take the challenge. It would have been an outstanding event if only the weather was more kind and cooperative.
