CBN Asia 20th Anniversary: Continuing to Proclaim Christ and Transform Lives

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Your friendly neighborhood pambansang blogger was invited last October 7, 2014 to attend the 20th Anniversary celebration of the Christina Broadcasting Network (CBN) Asia. The event was held at the Every Nation Assembly Hall located in Bonifacio Global City.

CBN Asia brought us the endearing The 700 Club originally hosted by Pat Roberston, and the Superbook animation series which I grew up with imagining going along with the trips to the Bible stories hanging out with Gizmo.

I can say that both shows were a great influence for me since we often watch them during those times they originally aired on GMA 7. I can still remember my parents, and grandparents, tuning in to The 700 Club, and my brothers and I were always looking forward to every episode of the Superbook. Now, that the cartoon has evolved into a 3D "reimagined" version, we still continue to find joy in reminiscing the memorable childhood days.

The 20th Anniversary celebration was a night of thanksgiving for being the longest-running Christian show in the country. Former and present hosts of The 700 Club Asia such as Coney Reyes, Mari Kaimo, Miriam Quiambo, Kata Inocencio, Dulce and a lot more were there, with CBN Asia Founder Gordon P. Robertson, the son of Pat Robertson, as the guest of honor.

It is also on that night that that they introduced the CBN Asia 20th Anniversary commemorative album entitled “Transforming Love” so i was among the few to first get my hands on it and listen to the mesmerizing music and inspiring lyrics.

The music CD represents a testimony of God’s work through CBN Asia’s Family of Ministries since it started in 1994. “Transforming Love” is a 12-track contemporary Christian album, composed of original and remake songs from award-winning composers, arrangers, and artists in the OPM industry who have wholeheartedly offered and contributed their talents to make this CD, like Gary V, Yeng Constantino, Ogie and Regine Alcasid, Piolo Pascual, Toni Gonzaga, Christian Bautista, Sam Concepcion, KZ Tandingan, AKA Jam and The Company to name a few.

Sam Concepcion, Christian Bautista, Dulce and Tricia Amper-Jimenez provided the main entertainment performing wonderful song numbers taken from the music CD that delighted the audience.

When the events were done, I went out of that hall inspired since I've seen that there are quite a number of people who still gather to do worthwhile and noble efforts to help communities both in and outside the country as their way to praise the Lord.

I hope that the people responsible in running CBN Asia and its affiliate companies and partners will be encouraged to continue sustaining this admirable effort to reach and transform more lives.
