Legazpi, Albay: Summer Bonding Time Back Home with Family and Friends

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Every year we always have our leisure day or week, especially during summer. Some may go on a vacation together with their family. They go to their provinces or try other adventures to discover other places.

Like me, I also had a vacation trip to our province in Legazpi, Albay.

It's really nice to go there every year to visit our relatives and family friends. It took us almost 14 hours traveling from Manila to Legazpi. It would have been only for 12 hours but because of heavy traffic and road constructions, it took an additional 2 hours to reach our destination.

After a few days of resting in our house, we decided to go somewhere. We went to Daraga Church to attend the mass which was about The Seven Last Words of Jesus Christ. After that was a long way to our next destination. I've got a chance to have a glance of the very prestigious university in Bicol - the Bicol University. It was huge and has very nice facilities. An idea struck in my mind "I want to try studying here."

KawaKawa Hills

We then went straight to KawaKawa Hills. At first, I didn't want to try climbing that hill because I was not wearing the proper attire. I was wearing a high-cut pair of shoes, therefore it would be hard for me climb hills. But my cousins encouraged me to do so. I don't want to be called a "killjoy" so I tried. I didn't regret that decision, because it was really a nice experience.

Stations of the Cross

On our way to the top, we saw life-size statues of the Stations of the Cross, including the Last Supper. When we reached the top of the hill, I couldn't stop myself in saying "Wow!" It was amazing, fascinating, relaxing, breath taking, and all the other adjectives you can think of to describe the place.

I appreciate the name of the hill called KawaKawa which means "kawali". It was really in a shape of  a "kawali". Everything is green and the air is so refreshing. The view was very beautiful. All I can say during that moment was "It was all worth it".

Sunflowers for only P25 each

On the other side were lots of sunflowers which you can personally pick and buy for only 25 pesos.

At the Casagwa ruins

Last destination was at the Mayon Volcano (as seen from above photo). We just visited the area, took some pictures and ate along the side of the Cagsawa Ruins.

Everything was so perfect for me that time. I am inviting all of you to go there to see it for yourselves. You won't regret it, I swear!

Summer is my favorite season because I have the chance to bond with my family. I can go along with them to adventures and make memories in many places. So far I haven't got sick of going back again and again because everything that God created is beautiful. I won't get tired of coming back to that place where I made memories with my family,
