Mad World 2014 Selfie: How to Create Meaningful Personal Brands

Do you know which event was trending a few days ago! It was a huge gathering of eager and awe-inspired  students from different colleges and universities of the Philippines! Using the hashtag #MadWorld2014, one of the biggest event for the year gave everyone both learning and inspiration to become the future professionals of the country.

Last February 02, 2014 at the SMX Convention Center was the Philippine Junior Marketing Association’s (PJMA) Flagship event entitled Mad World 2014 “Selfie: How to Create Meaningful Personal Brands.” Mad World 2014 is in partnership with one of the country’s leading integrated communications agencies in the Philippines, Havas Media Ortega.

Mad World is PJMA’s annual convention for both marketing and advertising students all over the country. Through this event, PJMA has constantly given its best, year after year, to provide the students the perfect venue for them to learn the current trends in the ever-changing world of advertising and marketing.



The theme for this year’s Mad World is creating a unique personal branding and only the best of the best in their fields were invited to share what it takes to make it big in the corporate setting.  

Mr. Pao Peña, the Head of Integration and Branding Communications at Globe Telecom has revealed how your Social Media Profile can be your resume; Mr. Nomer Lasala, the country’s leading mentalist is also a Business Development Officer for the Intellicare has entertained the crowd with his psychic abilities but has delivered important points on how to create a larger than life personal brand; Dra. Vicki Belo the CEO of the renowned Belo Medical Group has shared how her personal brand has uplifted their corporate brand; the last speaker was Havas Media Ortega’s Managing Partner and Chief Collaborator, Mr. Tony Sarmiento who has helped the participants discover the importance of creating that unforgettable branding!

This year, the event has been a record breaker for gathering almost 5, 000 marketing students nationwide.
