Fantasy Fest 2013: Awesome Street Party at the Keys

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Enjoying Fantasy Fest 2013 here at Key West, Florida.

The Fantasy Fest, a street party held annually on the last week of October, has grown to rival New Orleans' Mardi Gras as a grand event drawing even out-of-towners.
Traditionally October has been a slow time for tourism in the Keys, but since its inception, Fantasy Fest has continually boosted the economy by filling up hotel rooms and inundating local businesses, restaurants, and bars during this time period.

The tremendous influx of visitors during the ten days of the festival sustains the local economy until the holiday season begins.

Climb aboard Pilar (Hemingway's sister ship). On the way to Key West for 2013 Fantasy Festival, we stopped over at World Wide Sportsman. It was designated as a Certified Audubon International Signature Sanctuary on September 22, 1998 and celebrates over ten years of environmental stewardship and protection.

Next to Westin Hotel Key West at Duval Street.

The highlight of Fantasy Fest is its parade featuring humorous floats, including one carrying the annually elected Conch King and Queen. In recent years, attendance at Fantasy Fest has surpassed 100,000 people, or more than three times the population of the island itself.

Fantasy Fest is committed to extending the time that visitors stay by encouraging the creation of diverse events throughout the entire ten days. The opportunity to show off the imaginative and resourceful spirit that defines the Keys excites participants as well as the thousands that are drawn to the Keys.

Mallory Square....It is located on the waterfront in Key West's historic Old Town, It is the location of the "Sunset Celebration", which is considered one of the main tourist attractions of the city.

At the top of La Concha Hotel, Crown Plaza.....few months from now this place will be history...they will close down the roof top to convert a Spa for the hotel.....I will for sure this place to view the famous Key West Sunset.

On our way back to Miami....with friends at Seven Mile Bridge
