Mabuhay Fiesta at the Mabuhay Restop : Showcasing Filipino Ingenuity at Its Best!

Wazzup Pilipinas!

I never expected it would be that great!  I really thought the Manila Vanilla could no longer be surpassed by other performances at the Mabuhay Restop but the surprising showcase of talents performed alone by the charming star of the show was all that we needed to make our night a very memorable one.

Most of my friends were actually there after an event that recognized Wazzup Pilipinas as one of the Top Ten Emerging Influential Blogs of 2013 as presented by Digital Filipino of Miss Janette Toral. This made the event at the Mabuhay Restop an after-event Victory Party to celebrate our win.

It was incidental that the night was very special for us, and the presentation of the new show called "Mabuhay Fiesta" made our night truly complete.

Add the great Filipino specialty dinner before the show and a Halo-Halo dessert to satisfy our craving for a sumptuous Pinoy feast. We had a wonderful dining experience and a blast watching the show!

What made me laugh out loud at first was when the female star of the show came out looking pretty sexy and alluring wearing a Hawaiian grass skirt and then asked "Do you like what you're seeing so far?"

Hahaha...all the men, and even the women, appreciate the beauty of the Filipina. One of my friends was ogling at her performance and we couldn't help but giggle and tease our friend.

When the lead star came out with a Poy dance performance, well that I thought was already the highlight of the show, but alas, I was even in awe when she came out with a hoola hoop adorned with different colored lights. Wow! She was truly multi-talented!

I cant wait to share the videos that I took at the event! Watch for it soon!

"There should be more restaurants and dinner theatres showcasing the best of Filipino culture in the realm of the performing arts. It doesn't make sense to let tourists see what they have in their countries, what's the use of going to faraway countries, right? They travel to see different cultures, different way of lives, that's the beauty in travel, to experience new things, so if we aren't giving and showing them our culture and heritage that is different from theirs, we are poor for it. Our ASEAN neighbors have capitalised, kept and continue to preserve and live their Asianity to their benefit, unknowingly or with a fierce pride in their culture, that's why so many tourists have flocked to them and continue to do so. Let's keep our Asianity, it's who we are, let us show the real us, showing our living culture and heritage will benefit us and our guests." - REVERIE

The performance was ended with an audience participation where some of us got the chance to play with a native musical instrument. Some of us were called on the stage to perform following instructions from a conductor who was pointing at us to indicate our turn to play the musical instrument.

At the Manila Vanilla show we were made to dance the "tinikling", a native Filipino dance , but here at the Mabuhay Fiesta show we got the chance to play two Filipino songs with native Filipino instruments. It is very rare that you get to experience something like these.

Kudos to the amazing performance of multi-talented Tia Gloria. It is not very often that we see beauty and talent packaged in one remarkable individual. Keep up the great work and always break a leg.

Mabuhay Restop is continuously coming up with creative shows that showcases the Filipino ingenuity and talent.

Thank you for making our night even more special! More power to Mabuhay Restop!

  1. This article is about the Filipino's ingenuity and talents. The Mabuhay Restop is a great place where everyone can experienced the tradition of Filipino culture. In the said place, there were delicious foods which were presentably prepared, and on the latter part of the program, there were dancers who performed Filipino folk dance to show how rich we are in the field of dancing. By this, we can show how proud we are in our own culture by expressing and showing this things to other people.
