Artemis : I Hunt You

Wazzup Pilipinas!

One of my favorite Greek goddess is Artemis (the other being, Athena). Now what does Artemis have that makes her so special? Why do we love her? The very reason for her to be loved by mortals of today’s generation (considering that most people prefers Artemis and Athena when we are to talk about Greek Mythology) yet who only loves her bow and arrow (Yes! She does have that ONE love affair whom she killed as what they say). Why? Why? Why? So here is a brief background about Artemis and reasons why we love her (if you do) and why you should love her (cause how in the world can you not love this awesome goddess?).

Artemis is the daughter of Leto and Zeus, and the twin sister of Apollo. She is the goddess of the moon, hunting, forest, hills, virginity and fertility. She was often described with the crescent of the moon above her forehead and was sometimes identified with Selene (goddess of the moon). She was one of those forever alone people - I mean, virgin goddess. So enough with the background and prepare to be stupefied by this kick ass goddess!

Number 1 is that Artemis doesn’t take crap from anybody. She doesn’t give a damn. She doesn’t care for what everybody thinks cause it shouldn’t even matter. She is a strong willed person who fights for what she believes. And, today most of us lacks this kind of trait. Another reason is those wishes of her to Zeus: To remain forever a virgin and never confide in any marriage.

I really admire her for this. Most women are subjected to their husbands when they marry. They always depicts us as weaklings but Artemis proved them wrong. This impeccable goddess showed them that she doesn’t need a man to complete her world (because it is in fact HER world not ANYBODY’s world).

Lastly, her undying love for hunting (her bow and arrow). We all have this love for the things we are great at (but this love could vanish if we got tired) or just simply what we like and Artemis made me realized this stuff.

I’m always confused as to what should I pursue as my course but Artemis showed me that it doesn’t matter if you’re good at it as long as you love it then go for it. I could go on and on stating reasons as to why we love and we should love Artemis.

So if you are to spell the word awesome it should be A – R – T – E – M – I – S (which most people mistaken). Dear mortals, I present you Artemis! The Greek virgin goddess of hunting!
