Detective Conan, League of Legends and Chess...and Review

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Probably most of students out there hope to have a happy vacation. But some of the students don’t have money or time to go to places such as pools, resorts, etc. But some students take summer as an opportunity to review and learn something new in some aspects.

In the first month of summer, I registered in a review center in Katipunan. First, I only join because I believe that I can be with my former classmates. But it came out that I’m the only one that studies in Pasig City Science High School in our room. But I didn’t quit only because pf that senseless reasons. I continued to study and review for my own sake. I continued to excel. There comes a day that we were told to take a simulated UPCAT test. It is not that I’m arrogant, I just wanted to tell that I had the highest score in Science and Math fields in that said test. I just want students like me to continue to strive in spite of problems and hardships when it comes to relationships and friendships. I also widened my circle of friends because of that review.

In the second month, I also had an interest in anime. I had downloaded many episodes of Detective Conan. I admire him for his intellect and his good deductions. Even if my computer will have viruses and worms if I download such things, I disobeyed the advice of my sister’s husband. I plan to watch the whole series this year. Currently, Detective Conan has 969 ( If I remembered it right) episodes. I just love watching his great deductions.

I also had an interest in MMORPG games such as League of Legends. My friend told me to try this game. When I played it in a computer shop, I got interested in the said game. I play this game 2 hours everyday. Somebody will say: “You’ve been addicted to computer games.” Then I’ll answer them out: “Somehow, I’m addicted to the same game. But I can save a little money everyday.” Until today, I’m still addicted to League of Legends, although I can’t download it and install the game because of my low speed processor (only 1.67 GHz) and low RAM.

I also trained myself in terms in chess. I plan to join a local tournament in our church in chess. I have many strong opponents, nearly double my own age. But I manage to win most of my chess games. I have learned many strategies and techniques of many players. I also learned to counter many openings. I can say that my summer is (a little bit) productive. I have learned many lessons in the two-month summer without paying much money. I had fun with my friends. I learned to study and take advantage of free time to review for my upcoming challenge, namely the Entrance Exams for college: UPCAT and PUPCET). I hope that I can pass a minimum of one test and get admitted to a university with a course of BS Computer Science. So until today, I still hope that the odds will be in my favour.
