Chris Cayzer Acoustic Nights at Kanto : Intimate Interviews, Hilarious Bloopers and an Engaging Performance

Wazzup Pilipinas!

It was my first time to meet Chris Cayzer at one of his gigs a few days ago. A friend of mine invited me to join him to watch his show at the Kanto Resto Bar located at the Podium in Ortigas Avenue in Pasig. Since it was near from where I live, I decided to tag along and see the performance.

I pretty much love acoustic music where you would know who can really sing or just relying on a great sound system or the loud accompanying band music.

It is also with added admiration to see a performer play a musical instrument on his own. It makes an impression of multiple talents - singing and playing the guitar puts Chris Cayzer at the level of other talented acoustic singers.

I guess you really have to know how to play an instrument and sing at the same time to be able to attain a performance full of feelings or emotions that would hit deep the hearts of your fans.

We got the opportunity to meet him backstage at the Tambayan sa Kanto resto bar inside a special room exclusive for Chris and his entourage where we share some meals and a few intimate conversations with him. We even got to video interview him, and asked for an exclusive video invite as well.

My first impressions of Chris was an approachable down-to-Earth, humble guy who doesn't see himself as a VIP. When asked what he likes to eat or drink, he simply asked for a glass of lukewarm water....and while waiting for his time to perform, he spent the time practicing on his guitar, and talked with us and granted our request for an interview. Even before we went upstairs, he already greeted us when he recognized my friend.

We even had a chance to interview his friend Rolo who used to come out as one of the talents at Master Showman German Moreno's Walang Tulugan show, among other TV and movie stints. We even had a laugh at one of the bloopers during the interview and I really loved how Chris laughed at the incident. My friend just requested a retake of the interview.

My video invite also got a few bloopers ( its Wazzup pilipinas, Chris!) so we had to repeat the take as well. But below you will see the second take of the video invite for Wazzup Pilipinas.

We also recorded the first part of his live performance at his show. Below is just one song from the first part of his performance. More videos to be uploaded soon.

From the Facebook page of Chris, I've learned that he already has two major studio albums under his belt. This self-taught musician and singer is gifted with a natural and first-class voice, guitar skills and stage maturity that are well beyond his years.

Chris captures a diverse audience and can perform for any occasion may it be performing in an intimate restaurant, crowded bar or in a large concert hall. People will find his energy contagious and his stage presence dynamic.

His inspirations are blues, rock, jazz and pop, and he writes and composes his own award-winning songs and delivers covers as if they were his own.

Chris has been performing all over the Philippines, and even at the US, UAE, Malaysia, Hong Kong & Singapore.

Chris also landed some modelling stints and was a host on Myx Global channel. He even had a few television show and movie appearances.

Since this is my first time to know the guy, there's really not much to say but I enjoyed the performance and admired his stamina in being able to play around ten songs in just one sitting. That's singing and playing the guitar at the same time with just a few seconds interval. But even during the intervals he was still talking as if he's not running out of breath.

I could imagine myself really tired after that first part of his performance. but when we joined him again upstairs for his 10 or 15 minute break, I was surprised he still allowed my friend to interview him. I was hesitant but decided to take the opportunity to just ask for a simple invite.

With the very few minutes left for him to rest, he still used it to have some photo ops with us and his friends - now that's dedication to his work! ...and appreciative to his fans efforts.

Even if it was an acoustic night that evening, I would like to say "You really rock, Chris!"

Thanks to Cris Cayzer, and hopefully I will see him again at his next performances.
