Miss Universe 2012 is Miss USA

Congratulations to all the winners of the recent Miss Universe 2012 especially to the grand winner Miss USA, Olivia Culpo and to our country's representative, Miss Philippines, Janine Tugonon who got the 1st runner up position.

Followed by Miss Venezuela who was crowned as the 2nd runner up, while Miss Australia got the 3rd runner up slot, and Miss Brazil wins the 4th runner up title.

For me Janine is the real winner, because she gave a good battle for the crown, consistent from start to finish...It's not that because we cheer for our own, but because she deserves it a lot more than the actual winner! Congrats Janine!

Question for Ms. Philippines: As an international ambassador, do you think speaking English is a prerequisite to being Ms Universe?

Janine Tugonon's answer: For me, being Miss Universe is not just about knowing how to speak a specific language. It's about being able to influence and inspire other people. If you have a heart to serve and a strong mind to show people then you can be Miss Universe.

A total of 89 lovely ladies around the word competed for the title of Miss Universe 2012. The final pageant was held  on December 19, 2012, Wednesday at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. It was presented by hosts Andy Cohen, Giuliana Rancis  and Jeannie Mai.

The 2012 Miss Universe judges were Rock of Ages star Diego Boneta, stylist Brad Goreski, Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto, and America’s Next Top Model judge Nigel Barker, Olympic gold medalist Kerri Walsh and other famous personalities like  Scott Disick and Cee Lo Green.

 

This year’s Miss Universe was definitely viewed by millions, if not billions, of audiences all over the world including myself.
