Yamaha Mio Gravis 125cc Scooter and Media Appreciation Year End Party

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Yamaha Philippines introduced its Mio Gravis 125cc Scooter model together with  celebrity reporter endorser Atom Araullo.  At the Yamaha Media Appreciation Year-End Party. Congratulations to the launch of the new Yamaha Mio Gravis scooter available now for only P85,900.

Still a Mio line up scooter that caters a unique market. The difference is that it has a huge wheel, huge compartment with a 25 liter gas capacity. Also had a 12 volt charging station for your gadget.
.                                                                                                        .
Speaking of gadgets I remember Atom did a tetchy stuff with his phone. speaking English-Portuguese translation while talking to taxi driver during our last Rio world cup tour. So I believe Yamaha did a cool decision of making him as modern Ambassador in delivering news and global unique stories.

Anyways, at the Media Appreciation Year-End Party. Yamaha makes the press feel to be a celebrity at that time - as we do ramp, story telling, on the spot team photography, did sporting exercise and team building kind of activity. It was fun to be a part of Yamaha family for quite sometime.

Most of the time we were covering events, enduring heat of the sun while drivers did the race and test drives those different motorcycle models. Aside from blogging on the back end as we return home.

Wazzup Pilipinas!

The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) celebrates the holiday season with the colorful “Maligayang Pasko 2019” (Merry Christmas 2019) postage stamps featuring the Children’s choir and their families joyfully singing to usher the Novena Masses held at dawn, known locally as “Simbang Gabi”.

Simbang gabi starts on 16 December and ends on the morning of the 24th. It is closely followed by the Christmas Eve Midnight Mass and Noche Buena, a traditional feast which gathers the entire family together.

There is no other country that does Christmas like the Philippines. The celebration becomes livelier with sparkling lights, family reunions, a festive atmosphere, and merrymaking left and right, singing Christmas carols. All these make Christmas in the Philippines more joyful and exciting.

These postage stamps were issued to amplify the wonder of Christmas through Filipino family traditions of giving, and especially through the children. Christmas is a glorious affair for Filipino families all over the world.

PHLPost has printed 50,000 copies of block of four (4 different designs) stamps, designed by PHLPost in-house layout artist Eunice Beatrix Dabu. The stamp is being sold at P12.00 each.

DOTr, MARINA Launch Cavite – Manila Ferry Service; Rides Free for One Month

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Residents of Cavite may now reach Metro Manila faster by water travel, as the Department of Transportation (DOTr), through the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA), and with the help of the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA), and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) formally launched the Cavite – Manila Ferry Service on December 8, 2019.

At the inaugural ceremony, DOTr Secretary Arthur Tugade announced that starting tomorrow, 9 December 2019, passengers may start using the ferry service from the Cavite City Port Terminal going to the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) Complex in Pasay City, and to the Liwasang Bonifacio Terminal (Plaza Lawton) in Manila, and vice versa.

“Andito kami ngayon pagka’t hangarin namin na ilunsad at i-revive ang ferry operation ng Cavite. Itong operation ng Cavite ay matagal ding nawala, matagal ding nakalimutan, kaya sabi namin, umpisahan, buhayin, at itaguyod ulit ‘yung ferry operation ng Cavite,” Secretary Tugade said.

The transportation chief also announced more good news: the riding public will get to avail of the ferry service for free until 9 January 2019, in coordination with Shogun Ships Co. Inc. and Seaborne Shipping Company Inc.

“Kausap ko ‘yung Shogun, Seaborne, ang sabi ko, ‘itong proyektong ito, gusto ko pamaskong handog sa mga Cavite, dapat ito libre. Hanggang matapos ang Kapaskuhan sa January 9, libre ang pamasahe sa ferry. Ito ‘yung pamaskong handog ng administrasyong Duterte sa inyo,” Secretary Tugade said.

Immediately following the launch, the ferry service kicked off its operations with an inaugural voyage from the Cavite City Port Terminal to the Liwasang Bonifacio Terminal (Lawton) in Manila. Upon arrival, it was announced that passengers who will ride the “MV Island Sabtang” will get free rides until 31 January 2019.

Two vessels will start operating tomorrow, with two to three more to be added next month to serve the routes.

Through the ferry service, travel time from Cavite City Port Terminal to Liwasang Bonifacio Terminal is estimated at 40 to 45 minutes. Meanwhile, travel time between the Cavite City Port Terminal and CCP, and vice versa, is around 15 minutes.

MV Island Sabtang from Shogun Ships Co. Inc. can accommodate 57 passengers, while MB Seaborne Mercury can accommodate 27 passengers. Fares for both rides are still under negotiation, as Secretary Tugade continues to push for lower prices.

For his part, Cavite City Mayor Bernardo Paredes thanked the DOTr and its attached agencies under the maritime sector for initiating the ferry service in a bid to help ease road traffic to and from Metro Manila.

The Cavite – Manila Ferry Service is an offshoot of the "water jeepney” concept that was developed in Cebu, and was announced during the operational dry run of the Sangley Airport in Cavite. Secretary Tugade hopes that the riding public will utilize the service, as it offers a quick, convenient, and comfortable mode of transportation.

“Binubuhay natin ang konsepto ng ‘water jeepney’ sa Cavite, at sana ‘ho tangkilikin ninyo, para masabi natin, ‘okay ka, ferry ko’,” Secretary Tugade added.

Aside from the ferry service, the DOTr and MARINA also launched high priority maritime-related projects, such as the registration of recreational boats to boost tourism, and the opening of the MARINA Central Office Processing Center at the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange for the benefit of Filipino seafarers.
