They have likewise been hailed as the three-peat National Champion of Hip Hop International Philippines 2014, 2015 and 2016 in Manila and have received the three-peat Gold Medal Award for the Philippines in the 2018 Hong Kong Challenge Cup Dance Competition.

Staying true to its mission to establishing a community sensitive to the needs of the society, De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) renewed its Kapitbahayan partnership with 24 neighboring barangays and 18 non-government organizations through a three-year Memorandum of Agreement.

Spearheaded by Benilde’s Center for Social Action (CSA), the collaboration was sealed through a formal signing ceremony held at the College’s Augusto-Rosario Gonzalez (ARG) Theater and graced by Mayor of Manila City Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso, Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano, and the chairmen of the various local government units.

In his keynote address, Mayor Moreno emphasized the vital contribution of each party in addressing crucial concerns and encouraged the participating factions to assist and support Benilde in its pursuit to retain the cleanliness and orderliness of the shared area. He likewise sought the cooperation of both the private and public sectors as his team works towards the betterment of the city and reaches out to vulnerable groups such as senior citizens and street children.

Through the reaffirmation of the Kapitbahayan partnership, which is akin to the concept of bayanihan, the College continues to move forward with their common goals in maintaining a safe and responsive environment for all.

Benilde serves the marginalized through skills-based capacity-building programs and supports their development and educational activities by opening its spaces for seminars, workshop, meetings and sports events.

The institution also implements the Department of Education (DepEd)’s Alternative Learning System for the out-of-school youth and sources potential scholars who can avail of the institution’s several grants for college and certificate courses. All initiatives are made possible through the local districts’ role in facilitating the active involvement of the families and their direct beneficiaries.

Benilde, who has been cooperating with its first partner neighboring barangay for ten years, started Kapitbahayan program with the Alternative Learning System. The fruitful camaraderie through shared advocacies inspired the College to extend their reach to the cities of Manila and Pasay.

GTC Encourages Everyone to Join the Global Climate Strike on September 20

Wazzup Pilipinas!

"Everyone has the right to express their own beliefs. My own expression is more likely addressed to our decision makers - those who have direct authority to decide if the SOGIE bill should be passed.
Just as how passionate I am in discouraging the patronage of softdrinks that do not only poison us with their drinks but also pollute our world with their plastic bottles, or the ones that support greasy junk food that mainly contributes to the obesity of our youth.

We should all get involved to save this world.

I can't imagine bloggers who could support brands that contribute to the destruction of the world while they pose as Green crusaders.

The Green Thumb Coalition (GTC)'s Green Bloggers Dinner at Senyor Kumpadre Restaurant in Quezon City was held on September 15, 2019 from 5 pm onwards.

The bloggers' dinner was sponsored by Green Thumb Coalition composed of many organization all aiming to act now before it's all too late for us.

Main speaker was Atty. Aaron Pedrosa, Secretary General of Sanlakas, who shared valuable and alarming insights on why we should all act now before it is all too late.

According to him, they have filed corresponding cases against the Department of Energy (DOE) and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), and though I've been highly supporting government agencies in spreading awareness about their projects and activities, I would readily support a wake-up call intended for them if they are truly faulty and sleeping on the job with regards to the call to avert the damages brought about by climate change.

Climate Change is an urgent matter thus we should join the September 20 gathering at Quezon Memorial Circle in Quezon City.

Again, to reiterate, on September 20 from 1:30 to 5:30pm, let us all join the Global Climate Strike at the Quezon Memorial Circle to gather against the further harm of our world by discouraging coal power plants, the use of disposable plastic bottles, sachets, styrofoams, etc. that continues to harm us, land, air and sea creatures, and our environment.

Climate change is worsening yet we are not panicking.

Our home is burning yet we remain calm.

Supporting this advocacy means giving up our support towards the brands that are among the sources and causes of the problem. No matter if you are just supporting their activities or similar advocacies, their continued use of harmful elements like disposable bottles and plastics, are still significantly harmful.
Let us be true Green advocates to its truest sense.

The experience of being invited by Greenpeace to join the 20-day journey of the Rainbow Warrior ship across the seas from Manila to Tacloban was already a proud moment especially when we find ourselves being the only blog to join the trip.

If ever they invited other bloggers, probably noone was passionate enough to be away for several days and miss the many events lined up. Together with some traditional media, we endured a few days of life in the waters aboard a ship together with other nationalities, not only to experience how it is like to cruise for a cause but also to get a deeper understanding of the sentiments of Green advocates.

If ever there will be future invites, we would readily join again to somehow contribute to saving this world through our stories.

To be also invited as media sector covenor for NCR by the Green Philippines (Aksyon Kalikasan) is another honor to be proud of. Needless to say, I will do everything in my capacity to help support movements towards a greener existence.

We hope you will join all other green crusaders on September 20.
