Ayala Museum Presents Botong Francisco: A Nation Imagined





In celebration of the birth centenary of National Artist Carlos “Botong” V. Francisco, Ayala Museum and Ayala Foundation, Inc. proudly present Botong Francisco: A Nation Imagined, which opens on December 4, 2012.


Botong Francisco: A Nation Imagined is a rare gathering of over 40 works, including large-scale paintings, by Botong from several public and private collections. Several studies and sketches included in the display were never seen in public before. The exhibition will run from December 4, 1012 to March 31, 2013 at the Ground and Third Floor galleries of Ayala Museum.

Epson’s Most Popular Dot Matrix Printers Now Faster And More Reliable Than Ever



Dot matrix printer would always be a necessity for most business establishment and now Epson is presenting their new dot matrix models.

Building on its reputation as the world’s top dot matrix printer maker*, Epson has introduced its next-generation narrow carriage dot matrix models: the Epson LX-310 and LQ-310. These new printers are upgraded versions of its best-selling LX-300 and LQ-300 models, and feature greatly improved speed and reliability.

Both the new printers feature a 128KB input data buffer memory that is double that of their predecessors. This enables the 9-pin LX-310 and the 24-pin LQ-310 to achieve high printing speeds of 357 and 416 characters per second respectively at 12 CPI – or almost 40% faster than the models they replace.

The Epson LX-310 and LQ-310 also have improved reliability ratings that are an astonishing 67% higher than their predecessors that were already renowned for their dependability. Both new models are rated for a mean time before failure (MTBF) of 10,000 POH (power on hours) compared to the older models’ 6,000 POH.


“Millions of our customers and their own customers around the world have grown to depend on the high performance and reliability of Epson’s renowned dot matrix printers without question,” says Noelle Gonzalez, Epson Philippines’ Head of Product Management. “That is why we are confident that these new vastly improved models of our best-selling narrow carriage range will first surprise them, and then go on to set new industry benchmarks for speed and reliability.”

The Epson LX-310 is currently priced at PhP8,995 while the Epson LQ-310 is at PhP11,095. Both products are available nationwide. An extra ribbon (aside from the starter ribbon that comes with the printer) would be given to customers who would buy the LX310 and LQ-310 from December 2012 until January 31, 2013.

ASUS Incredible Innovations Tour


Last week, ASUS Philippines invited the local media for an Incredible Innovations Tour. Held at Prado Farms Pampanga, attendees were able to enjoy a day of Incredible art and culinary experience.

They we're able to experience the latest ASUS Tablets such as the Nexus 7, VivoTab Series and TAICHI Ultrabook Controvertible plus take Incredible Photos using the devices.

Toured at Prado Farms Lubao Pampanga, ASUS Philippines showed today’s top tech and lifestyle media an incredible hidden art and culinary experience. Together with the latest tablets from ASUS such as the Nexus 7, VivoTab series and the Dual Screen Ultrabook Convertible TAICHI, the attendees were able to enjoy and capture incredible moments experienced outside the city.

The Asus Incredible tour started with a talk by seasoned master photographer John K. Chua, a pioneer and innovator in Philippine photography. Chua spoke to the attendees about capturing incredible moments and inspiring quotes relating to his 40 years of Photography experience.


The media were brought to Prado Farms Pampanga, previously a LPG Warehouse station converted into an eco-friendly farm. Owners of Prado Farms Victor and Amada Gutierrez showcased the farm’s recycled junk materials converted into usable everyday items. Victor, an architect, was the one who thought of using LPG tanks to be converted into decors and furniture such as chairs, tables and even a gate, which was built by sticking together old LPG tanks. To complete the experience, the participants we’re also treated to different local delicacies and dishes such as Prado farm’s famous Duck Stuffed Lechon.

As Pampanga is famous for their World-Class Christmas Lanterns, participants were graced by Pampanga’s Famous Christmas Lantern maker “Tata” Erning Quiman. Tata Erning is the fourth-generation lantern maker of his family, continuing the tradition of making grand lanterns. Tata Erning showed and demonstrated participants the essentials of lantern making, as the participants made their own lanterns.







In the Inspiring works inside Prado Farms, participants were given a task to submit their incredible moments using the cameras of ASUS devices. Furthermore, the participants were able to experience more the features of the ASUS devices, i.e.,battery life, performance, portability and even connectivity.

In a day of Incredible Culinary and Arts, ASUS showed that Innovation is not only found in technology but also in different aspects. With the day captured with Incredible Moments using ASUS’ latest tablet devices.
