Brandon Vera Shares Enlightening Experience on ‘The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition’

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Reigning ONE Heavyweight World Champion Brandon “The Truth” Vera is among a handful of martial arts superstars to guest on upcoming reality television show, “The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition.”

The 43-year-old Filipino-American mixed martial arts veteran joined legendary fighters Georges St-Pierre, Renzo Gracie, and former ONE Welterweight World Champion Ben Askren, as well as high-profile CEOs from some of the world’s largest companies.

Vera, who is currently in Florida training alongside fellow athletes Aung La N Sang and Martin Nguyen at Sanford MMA, recalled his experience on ONE Championship’s version of the iconic TV franchise.

“It was very educational and refreshing not to have any pressure on me in front of the camera. I got to learn a lot from the candidates. I look forward to seeing ‘The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition,’” said Vera.

“It was an honor, an absolute privilege to be standing next to greatness both in the martial arts and business worlds.”

The show, based on the popular non-scripted television franchise, is a complete departure from the classic American version, and offers viewers an entirely new experience.

“The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition” invites 16 candidates hand-picked from around the world to participate in a series of business and physical challenges, as they compete for a US $250,000 job offer to work directly for ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong as his protege.

Vera, who was front and center to witness the candidates scrap and battle to reach the finale and ultimately win the competition, says viewers will be in awe of just how tough this version of “The Apprentice” truly was.

“I think the physical challenges for the candidates were something very unexpected. They were definitely not prepared even though they thought they were. It was very cool seeing some of them push beyond their limits, while some just fell apart,” said Vera.

Apart from being one of the most dominant world champions in ONE Championship, Vera is also an entrepreneur himself, owning several businesses including the Asian branch of renowned gym Alliance MMA. He, in particular, learned a lot from his time on “The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition.”

Vera described his experience working with guest CEOs such as Zoom’s Eric Yuan, Grab’s Anthony Tan, and Catcha Group’s Patrick Grove, among others.

“It was a combination of being nervous, because I didn’t want to miss anything, and being nervous to discover some of my thought processes to be incorrect. It was definitely a learning curve all the time, and I’m very blessed to have this opportunity over and over with ONE Championship,” said Vera.

“The Apprentice” is one of the biggest non-scripted reality television programs in history, judging the business skills of candidates who are competing for a job offer under a high-profile CEO. It has aired in more than 120 countries.

The first season of “The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition” consists of 13 episodes. It’s scheduled to premiere across Asia on Thursday, 18 March, on AXN, the show’s official Asian broadcast partner, followed by a global launch in June across broadcast and streaming platforms.

Having been witness to the candidates’ struggles, Vera learned exactly what it takes to be a contestant on the show, and has some advice for those wanting to join the show if it’s ordered for future seasons.

“[You need to be] someone who won’t break. Someone who knows how to take lead and set the example by doing. Someone who lives up to all of the values that ONE Championship stands for. That is what it will take to win ‘The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition,’” said Vera.

Vera is slated to make his return to the ONE Circle later this year to defend his ONE Heavyweight World Title, with a potential opponent being UFC veteran Arjan “Singh” Bhullar, although details of the bout have yet to be finalized or announced.

The 5 Camping Tent Tips You Need to Know

Wazzup Pilipinas!

If you’re going camping tent shopping, that probably means that you have an excursion in your future. Maybe you plan on taking the kids on an adventure to a national park. It could be that you’re not feeling that ambitious yet, and you’re taking your tent no further than the backyard.

Either way, there are some camping tent tips about which you should know. We’ve cultivated this list, and we’re passing our knowledge on to you. Consider each of these factors before you pull the trigger and purchase your next camping tent.

Select One that’s Easy for You to Set Up

As you look at camping tents, one of the first things you should think about is how easy to set up it is. If you’re camping in the backyard, it’s not such a big deal if you have an uncooperative tent. You can go back inside, study the directions some more, or even go online and look for some message boards. Maybe other individuals are running into the same problems that you are.

However, if you’re out in the wild, and night is falling, that tent is your shelter. Maybe you’re miles from your vehicle or any other human comforts, or perhaps it’s starting to rain. In that scenario, you’re going to want a tent that you can figure out how to construct relatively easily.

Figure Out How Many People Can Fit Inside

If you’re going camping, and you have three people, plus a three-person tent, then you should be in good shape, right? Well, not necessarily.

It could be that you’ve got three individuals who are going on this trip. Maybe all three of you come from a larger family, and you know that the average tent won’t fit you.

If all of you try to cram into this one tent, you might be practically lying on top of each other. That’s not going to be very comfortable for you, and perhaps you’ll need to deal with it for multiple nights if this is a longer trip.

If you’re a larger person, and you know you’re going camping with some other sizeable individuals, you might go for a four or a six-person tent, even if there are just three of you.

Look at the Safety Features

If you’re going to be in an area with venomous snakes, ticks, or other wildlife that you’d prefer not to encounter up close, think about that as you look at the various tent models out there. You might look closely at the zipper and tent flaps.

Ideally, there should be a way for you to keep nature safely outside your tent. There might not be any tent that can save you from a rampaging grizzly bear attack. Still, you at least want one that can not just keep the elements off of you but which you can also zip up to keep most animals and insect invaders outside.

Try Setting Up the Tent and Getting Inside It Before You Leave

Returning to what we were saying before, you want to be sure that you can not only set up the tent while outdoors but also that everyone fits inside who’s going on the trip. When you’re out in nature and there’s no chance to go back is not the time to do that.

Once you get your tent, try setting it up in your living room or some other suitable place before you ever take it into the wild with you. That way, you can be sure that you can erect it with no issues. You can also all pile inside of it to see if you’re comfortable or whether you need a larger model.

See What Additional Tools You Need to Set It Up

What additional setup tools you need is one final aspect to keep in mind. Most tents do not require a lot of extra tools for you to set them up. You’ll probably need a mallet or a hammer to pound the tent stakes into the ground, but other than that, the tent should come with everything to get it ready for use.

If it doesn’t, look and see how many extra tools or what other paraphernalia the tent requires to set it up. You might have to carry all of that for several miles, and you don’t want all of it to weigh you down. The best tent is highly portable and doesn’t require lots of extra setup equipment.

Jen Barangan mastered the art of how to say you’re a DDS without saying you’re a DDS

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Jen Barangan called the voices screaming for justice, equal rights, food, shelter, clothing or simply the voices of the marginalized people as ”noise".

Being vocal about political issues isn't a noise. Oppressed, standing up for themselves is not a noise. Being a voice for the oppressed will never be a noise.

Jen Barangan, discrediting people's efforts to be heard screams her privilege, insensitiveness, and her being apathetic.

Thanks for that “official statement” Jen Barangan. Ngayon confirmed na na privileged DDS ka.

Imagine being privileged, apolitical and having no sense of empathy. Yikes!

Oh and the voice of the oppressed and marginalized is NOT JUST A NOISE. Excuse me????

Jen Barangan’s official statement reeks of privilege. imagine calling the cry for change “additional noise”

Not everyone has the privilege to remain quiet like you, others only have the option to create “additional noise” in order to survive and be heard.

This one’s for you, sit down.

Jen Barangan said that "she's not a public figure". Gurl you have 2.0M followers on tiktok, like hellooooo???

Also, not her saying na she will stay silent kasi if magko-complain pa s'ya about government, additional noises lang. Fyi, the voices of the marginalized aren't noises.

Feeling ko talaga binayaran siya eh. Sobrang dami nang nageeducate sakanya sa tiktok, but she chose to be blind.

Well since nagkaissue siya about it who knows baka updated pa si Roque so she just chose to kiss ass.

To be fair, she was able to clarify something here and that is her not being apolitical but a closeted (not anymore) DDS.

mocha uson > jam magno > jen barangan

It’s the evolution for me.

Listening to Jen Barangan's statements and she still couldn't comprehend how the pandemic and how the incompetence of this government heavily contributed to job loss and poor economic recovery. Sana bago gumawa ng official statement, she could have educated herself more.

Jen Barangan: And yes, there are instances that I don't agree with how they run the country. (But) if I don't have the best idea or I don't have any suggestions on how to resolve certain issues or crises, I'll remain silent and do my part as a good citizen in my own country.

Jen Barangan: Because if I kept on complaining w/o any suggestions on how to resolve those, I will just be an additional noise and our country has enough noises to handle.

Dear Jen Barangan, educate yourself on the issues. Don't use your clout to tolerate complacency just because you didn't take time to comprehend and to educate yourself a bit more on issues. Public servants are elected to serve the people and fix the issues.

Public servants should not be self-serving and they need to be called out when there is incompetence and corruption. Ang pag-iingay ng mga tao ay senyales na may problema at dapat ito tignan kung ito ay lehitimong reklamo. This should not be taken lightly.

Now, Jen Barangan has been losing followers on Tiktok ever since she posted her video with Harry Roque.

Why's Jen Barangan fan girling over Harry Roque and quoting "not everything is politics?"

Even the tiniest piece of the rice you ate today involves politics, admit it, you're part of the problem. Lol girl everything is political whether we intentionally link it or not.

It was the fangirling for me.

If she is claiming innocence, then I will call her out for being privileged, on being not affected by this current admin's shenenigans.

Char.  Not char.

PDEA versus PNP Shootout or Misencounter: Legitimately Crooked?

Wazzup Pilipinas!

"Misencounter" between police and PDEA agents left 2 dead and 4 injured.

Both camps say they were conducting legitimate operation when the shootout happened.

Questions on how the gunfight between law enforcers happened remain unanswered, but both the PNP and the PDEA said they coordinated.

PNP claims PDEA agents fired first.

This is something for the books.

PDEA name is self explanatory. PNP cops, including the dead, were in anti-narcotics work.

BOTH claimed legitimate operations — in the same place, at the same time.

Ayokong isipin na genius ang target(s) nila.

It's another misencounter of the fascist state security forces.

Before it was AFP vs PNP.                                now it's PDEA vs PNP.

PNP always involved.

Years past Duterte’s “three to six months” promise, the PNP and PDEA still say they don’t know how to do their job. And take note, they have billions of intelligence funds in their arsenal ah.

Billions of intelligence fund and you will hear this bloody news between PDEA and PNP?

So PDEA got catfished by PNP in Ever Gotesco? Billions of Intelligence fund with but with tinder-like surveillance. Poor civilians and casualties. Kaka-NPA at red tag niyo yan. Shoot to kill mentality on the roll.

Civilian safety compromised because of a shootout between the PNP & the PDEA. Some officers dead. This is a huge crack in the administration’s continuing attempt to paint the drug problem as the biggest threat to Filipinos— see, corruption & incompetence are deadlier than others.

No full story yet but obviously it is between our beloved two civil-servants in uniform. I feel sorry for the bereaved and the civilians traumatized there but we can talk about coordination, ayt?

It looks like a Napeñas lead operation all over again. No coordination. Hindi natuto O may pinagtatakpan. Ang intel funds nasaan?

Long story short PDEA performed a legitimate buy-bust operation against drug pushers who also happen to be QCPD police officers.

Things got heated when the undercover PDEA agent revealed themselves to arrest them but the police officer opened fire (out of fear lmao).

During the crossfire, both parties called for back up. But soon PDEA operatives found themselves being outnumbered by QCPD and the tides turned where it ended up that they were ones who were wrangled, forced to face the ground, beaten and finally arrested.

I don't believe that the QCPD had a 'sell-bust' operation lmao. Not only is that illegal constitutionally, but it also doesnt make sense. I feel like they were caught with their pants down and had to scramble for a fucking stupid excuse.

And a stupid excuse it was.

That neighborhood has always been the fucking  turf of the police for years. They even set up a station there.

So this makes it ABUNDANTLY CLEAR that drug dealing has been happening in that area for a larger part of a DECADE by the police.

Before police could even conduct a drug bust operation they first have to seek permission and coordination with PDEA. That's standard protocol lmao.

So its so inconcievable that PDEA are in the wrong here. They are the ones who have the papers to show. QCPD do not.

But the QCPD showed  documents showing they did make coordinations with PDEA. And so the plot thickens.

What is important now is that the truth be known and divulged to the public no matter what. Please do away with narratives that are meant only to sanitize incompetence or corruption of agencies. Sana walang mga Padrino na eepal.

PDEA chief Wilkins Villanueva says an informant died in the shootout between PDEA agents and police personnel on Wednesday. The death toll rises to four – two cops, one PDEA agent, and one informant.

I think this isn't a misencounter. A govt agency really did encounter a criminal enterprise moonlighting as a government agent.

Reminded by a former government official that prior to 2016, PDEA computerized its coordination mechanism precisely to avoid “misencounters” on the ground since drug enforcement officers of PDEA, PNP, and NBI conducting casing/surveillance that are not in uniform. What happened?

The shootout between PDEA and the PNP manifests how fucked up the drug war is.

We have trigger-happy law enforcers who have no coordination with each other on drug operations despite being part of agencies with the biggest budget allocations. They were victims of their own mess.

We demand the immediate sacking of PNP Chief Debold Sinas and PDEA Director General Wilkins Villanueva. They have full command responsibility on the shootout/misencounter between their units.

Duterte's dirty drug war, Oplan Tokhang led to this freak misencounter.

Key to Starting the Day Right? Don’t Skip your Breakfast

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Amid the global health crisis, it is essential to keep a healthy diet. And when it comes to maintaining it, it all boils down to refusing to skip the most important meal of the day—a complete, hearty breakfast. Whether your goal is to manage your weight or simply keep yourself healthy, it pays to make eating breakfast a regular habit.

With its numerous benefits, Santé, a leading provider of premier, natural, and organic health and wellness products and services, encourages everyone to make breakfast a vital habit, especially amid the pandemic, to kick-start your day, helping you keep your immune systems and overall well-being healthy.

If you are wondering about its other amazing benefits, then check out this list:

You get energized. As its name implies, eating your breakfast helps you to "break" your "fast" after a good night's sleep. When you skip your morning meal, you tell your body to conserve energy since you did not get the nutrients you need. Your metabolism slows down, and your body attempts to store fat.

On the other hand, eating breakfast helps you jumpstart your metabolism and be well on your way to maintaining your health or achieving your health goals.

It helps fuel your brain. A healthy breakfast is usually composed of food rich in carbohydrates, a preferred energy source for the brain. By choosing complex carbohydrates for your breakfast, you help improve your memory due to the increase of glucose available to the brain from the bloodstream. Among the best sources of complex carbohydrates include whole oats and cereals.

Your cognitive functions also improve after eating any food like carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. So, it pays to take a well-balanced breakfast, mixing your carbohydrates with protein-rich foods like eggs, lean meats, and healthy fats like nuts, among others.

You eat not more than you should. A lot of people skip breakfast to avoid consuming extra calories. But did you know that eating breakfast helps decrease your appetite?

According to a study published in the Journal of Nutrition in 2011, the subjects who ate breakfast regularly reported decreased hunger levels than those who skipped their morning meals. So, by eating high-fiber and nutritious meal early in the morning, you are less likely to be hungry throughout the day.

Another habit that you need to practice is drinking eight glasses of water to keep yourself hydrated or a nutritious supplement packed with vitamins and minerals that your body needs.

Santé BarleyTM, for instance, is a pure organic barley grass powdered drink, blended with one of nature's most potent sweeteners, Stevia. This product is best taken before meals. It also readily dissolves in water and contains vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, B6, B12, C, and E (per serving), which can help keep your body healthy and strong.

Sex adventures for single women could be a problem

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Sex is excitingly dangerous (adventure) if taken outside the context of marriage. Sodomy (same-sex) is the leading transmission means for HIV-AIDS in the world by 70% to 90%, followed by fornication (sex before marriage) and adulterous sexual intercourse. Dangerous sex activities are not a necessity to human survival or to greater happiness. The converse is instead true.

It's either we keep tolerating these 'normalized' practices and we'd end up in a degenerate society....or begin tolerating an antiquated mentality and we'll never see some progress in society.

Progress is fine, but we could end up like ancient Rome if y'all keep normalizing everything.

It's not even antiquated. We believe in change, but if we're talking about fundamentally changing here, it's a slow burn process.

If you keep changing and changing it will remain incosistent until society falls apart.

We need something to hold onto. Delaying gratification leads to anything than failure.

It's not always warm and fuzzies and "do what you want and makes you happy" There are some things beyond sex, money and power. The one that actually lasts for a lifetime, and it requires a lot.

We COULD be better, as a society we could make it better by overcoming our failure and short comings as an individual. B that we're changing our state collectively.

Society doesnt see it both ways (equal perception of man and woman). This issue is only juicy if it is about a woman knowing what she wants and going after it. You dont see reactions (like the guy’s above) or articles about men and their whorehouses now do we? or articles about men (or boys) looking for hookups? and if promiscuity is the problem of ancient Rome or Pompeii; then why hasnt the world burnt up in flames yet? Prostitution is the oldest trade in the book. Men have been patronizing it since time immemorial.

Bottom line, if a woman is single, responsible in her ‘adventures’, and if that is what she wants; thats fine. If she feels like it's taking over her life, then it becomes a problem. But that is her problem. not everyone elses.

If you're single, go ahead and enjoy the heck out if it. Things to be cautious about:

- a lot of men lie about their relationship status (kunwari single)

- please have yourself checked on a quarterly basis since you're very active. Free testing in Love Yourself Inc clinics.

- be careful with Covid since it's still pandemic

- birth control (condoms is really important but you can add pills or whatnot since condoms is not 100% effective)

- don't be shy in asking health and sexual activities/history of your partners. (Kahit wag mo na tandaan pangalan, importante safe. Haha. Charot.)

- if first time meeting someone lalo na gabi, inform someone. Take pic of the car or license plate if you must. Para if mawala ka at least may suspect agad.

PHLPost landscapes historic Manila Central Post Office Building

Wazzup Pilipinas!

The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) landscapes the historic Manila Central Post Office Building, transforming its public space into a vibrant, eco-friendly and sustainable government center.

PHLPost said that the greening of the Post Office building helps connect its employees and the public with nature and raises environmental consciousness and appreciation.

The presence of green spaces can enhance the health and wellbeing of people working in cities.

It somehow relieves anxiety, level of stress and improves creativity and productivity.

The Manila Central Post Office Building has been declared an “Important Cultural Property” by the National Museum. It is still considered the grandest building and most prominent landmark and tourist attraction in the City of Manila.

This neo-classical building was inaugurated in 1931, known then as the “Bureau of Posts” which was designed by the famous Filipino architect Juan Arellano. The Post Office Building was built as a modern colonial architecture, an example of a perfect neo-classical monument.

Aside from the Manila Central Post Office Building, Arellano also designed the Manila Metropolitan Theater and the old legislative building (National Museum).

Urban green spaces can also help reduce pollution and improve air quality.

New Directions Digital Art 2021: Negros

Wazzup Pilipinas!

The Negros Season of Culture is an initiative to showcase the artistry of Negros Occidental. A province in the central Philippines, Negros Occidental has produced an incredible amount of artists that have enjoyed critical as well as commercial success at home and abroad. In celebration of the National Commission of the Culture and the Arts’s National Arts Month, the NSC is proud to showcase three amazing young artists from Negros Occidental.

These three artists are featured by the Negros Season of Culture as they discover, explore, and even pioneer areas in art and design during one of the largest global pandemics in history.

Faye Abantao, Daryl Feril, and Christoph Sagemuller have more in common than being Negrenses. These three artists graduated within years of each other from La Consolacion College in Bacolod City, the capital city of Negros Occidental. They are young, dynamic artists who, due to their schooling, have a grounded foundation in the fine arts but have branched out, experimented with, and are now using new and exciting media for their art. They are also the farthest thing from the stereotype of the starving artist.

Abantao, Feril, and Sagemuller are successful both critically and commercially. They each have several exhibitions under their belts. Their art pieces and designs command interest not just from private collectors but from Fortune 500 companies. They represent a new wave of artists from a place that has always celebrated and supported the arts.

They are also at the forefront of pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the current Information Age and the nascent Fourth Industrial Revolution. The Internet is used as a source for research as well as ways to communicate with people all over the world. Digital tools, virtual and real, are used to create pieces of art for commercial and aesthetic pursuits. Their reach covers the entire country to as far as South Korea and the United States of America, a feat that one argues could have only been possible for three young artists who just graduated from a local provincial college in the Age of the Internet.

Digital Art defies limitations traditional art has in its reach. A global pandemic may close galleries and museums and limit patrons, buyers, and art lovers from enjoying or buying artwork. However, an artist whose work is in virtual space does not share those limitations.

The prevalence of digital tools in people’s phones and computers, the ease with which they can be used has given rise to not only a new generation of artists but a new kind of artist. An artist who may not have ever even seen a tube of oil paint or an actual paintbrush, one whose portfolio exists entirely in the cloud, one whose studio and gallery are located in a hard drive somewhere. Just as charcoal had given way to paints, there is a new medium and artists who are making use of it.

Abantao, Feril, and Sagemuller are the first of many who personify the new direction that art and the artists are shaping themselves into in this new millennium. They speak a whole new language, one that is an amalgamation of traditional and the digital. Their works are unmistakable international in scope and appeal yet undeniably Negrense at heart.

One could say, it is a change of the seasons.

PRI steps up online training with new Learning Management System; Conducts first batch of training through the platform

Wazzup Pilipinas!

The Philippine Railways Institute (PRI), an agency under the Department of Transportation (DOTr), launched its new online learning platform, the Learning Management System (LMS), through the conduct of its Web Refresher Training Course on 15 February 2021.

The LMS aims to provide the existing railway operations and maintenance workforce a platform that allows self-paced learning, while still encouraging the trainees’ participation through facilitated contact sessions.

With the LMS, PRI’s training courses are now administered, delivered, tracked, and automated in just one online platform.

"I am delighted that, in keeping with the times, the PRI is now able to provide remote learning sustainably during, and even beyond, this pandemic. PRI is now part of a growing number of institutes and organizations that have adopted this kind of learning platform,” DOTr Undersecretary Anneli Lontoc, the Officer-in-Charge of PRI, emphasized.

Last week, the railways institute successfully conducted the first LMS-delivered Refresher Training Course, with 30 railway personnel and 15 graduating college students as participants.

The pandemic’s disruptions have accelerated technological trends in the fields of learning and education. Instructional methodologies are evolving with the adoption of innovations to address limitations set by health and safety protocols to prevent the further spread of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).

It may be recalled that before the strict community quarantine was imposed due to the pandemic in March 2020, the PRI was conducting the Refresher Training Course (RT) face-to-face. A total of six batches graduated from the course. From July 2020 to February 2021, the learning institute shifted to the Web Refresher Training Course (WRT), an online course conducted through the Zoom platform, with 15 batches completing it.

In November 2020, PRI expanded the scope of its WRT to include graduating college students with railways-relevant background, and returning overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) with railway operation and maintenance experience.

With the growing number of participants, and the challenge of conducting face-to-face classes, the PRI developed its own platform, the LMS.

The LMS gives PRI instructors and railway trainees an academic and scalable digital learning environment alongside the existing video platform being used by the Institute. It is also mobile-friendly, which allows trainees and instructors seamless access to learning materials anytime and anywhere.

“This is again a great next step in PRI’s learning strategy that will have a positive impact on learning across the railways sector,” Usec Lontoc said.

The PRI is a research and training center for the railway sector under the Department of Transportation (DOTr). It serves as the planning, implementing, regulating, and administrative entity for the development of human resources in the railway sector to ensure the delivery of efficient, reliable, and safe railway transportation services.

The PRI ensures that personnel working in each railway line have the right knowledge, skills, and attitude for operations and maintenance through the issuance of certificates of competencies.

The establishment of the PRI is supported by a JPY 670 million grant from the Government of Japan through the Japan International Cooperation Agency.

Common Outcomes of 18-Wheeler Accidents

Wrecks involving 18-wheelers are much different than run-of-the-mill car accidents. This fact should come as no surprise, considering a typical 18-wheeler weighs 80,000 pounds, which is behemoth when considering the average car only weighs about 5,000 pounds.

Because of the sheer force of the weight behind these trucks, damage can be catastrophic and prosecuting the legal cases is much more complicated. Hiring an experienced attorney will give you the best chance of receiving adequate financial compensation for your pain and suffering, lost wages, and most importantly, injuries. Fatalities are not uncommon, and families are left behind in financial ruin, having to prosecute for wrongful death. The whole experience can be overwhelming.

Greater Devastation Leads to Bigger Settlements

Accidents involving cars and small trucks happen more often, but 18-wheeler wrecks are much more lethal. If there is a silver lining, payouts are usually commensurate with the damage done. While money is a very small consolation when you are seriously hurt or you are grieving the loss of a loved one, knowing that the at-fault party will substantially pay for their negligence can be heartening and protect the next innocent driver from the careless trucker.

Often your lawyer will be suing a company instead of an individual driver, and those payouts can be substantial. Consider that in May 2019, a jury in Texas awarded $80 million in damages to a truck driver who proved that the company that employed him forced him to change his logbook and work overtime, exceeding the federal limit for hours of service rules.

Lauro Lozano wound up falling asleep while driving and crashed into another big rig, crushing his pelvis and suffering trauma to his abdomen. Excessive medical expenses for such catastrophic injuries are just one reason settlements can balloon into the millions of dollars. Unfortunately, there are many other reasons as well.
Inability to Work and Loss of Income

Eighteen-wheeler accidents may result in permanent disability or a prolonged time away from the workplace. It is possible that the victim is completely unable to return to their previous profession. The inability to carry on with a chosen career often results in a larger settlement, including not only financial loss, but also mental anguish and sorrow at the loss of a beloved career.

More Property Damage

When colliding with these super-sized 18-wheelers, a regular car or truck is usually a total loss. That means the driver is often entitled to the entire Blue Book value of the vehicle.

Pain and Suffering

The insurmountable fear of being run off the road or getting into a collision with a huge truck can lead to unspeakable physical as well as emotional distress, including post-traumatic stress disorder. The judge will take into account the impact on daily life activities when calculating the amount to be paid.

Extensive injuries are almost always the outcome of large vehicle wrecks:

Traumatic brain injury
Wrongful death
Internal bleeding
Loss of limbs or amputation
Paralysis
Herniated disc
Whiplash
Severe lacerations
Blunt force trauma

If 18-wheeler accidents sound like your worst nightmare, you're not alone. Every day, we see victims that feel hopeless and helpless when confronting the large insurance companies hired by trucking companies. But don't be bullied.

Understanding and applying the law to these complex cases is what a truck accident law firm specializes in. In many cases, with time and patience and the right legal counsel, complete resolution and satisfactory financial recoveries are achieved. Tragic 18-wheeler accidents can, and often do, result in positive outcomes.

Could rabbit meat become acceptable as alternative to pork, chicken and beef?

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Is eating rabbit like eating your dog? Both of them our currently mostly our households pets. There are not too many breeders that raise them like chickens...yet. Should we eat alternative food like, fish, soya and others instead of rabbit? Or is it time for the Philippines to grow their rabbitry business?

It's still a long way to go for the Philippines. Should the government consider cultivating the rabbit meat industry?

Rabbit meat is one of the healthiest, leanest, and most environmentally friendly meats you can eat. Compared to beef, pork, lamb, turkey, veal, and chicken, a rabbit has the highest percentage of protein, the lowest percentage of fat, and the fewest calories per pound. The Italians and French eat rabbit the way Americans eat chicken, which is to say, quite often. Rabbit meat is tender, lean, delicious and as versatile as chicken, to which it can also be compared in taste.

They are far less fragile than pigs, and their numbers can grow fast, hence the expressions multiply like rabbits, and f**k like bunnies. It may be expensive NOW but with wide acceptance and an increased supply, the price will eventually drop to a reasonable level.

Government support is vital for this industry to take off. the rabbit's great potential to feed us is drowned by abounding misconceptions among the masses.

It is viable as rabbits multiply incredibly fast. You need a wider space for raising rabbits, though to accomodate their growing population. DA must provide training as rabbits tend to attract a variety of predators, and a host of other issues. In time, we shall see Filipinos eating rabbits. Hindi kelangan magmahal. Eh, lintek, pagkain lng ng mahihirap yan sa Europe at Australia.

At the moment rabbit is much expensive than pork. One small rabbit is sold 500-1k and not even reach 1kilo in weight. But hopefully soon it will become more affordable and competitive when acceptance and demand rise. It won't be pricey if there's enough to go around with. If They can breed chickens why not rabbits also but don't know if it's cost effective anti chicken. Better eat corrupt politicians! 100 % clean life style and eating the best feeds but not enough for the majority! Hahahaha Bon appetite.

It is a very common food in countries like Italy, tasty.. I don't understand the stigma for the rabbit here in the Philippines.
