COMELEC Says There's Nothing Wrong With Negative Political TV Ads Involving Children

Wazzup Pilipinas!

The TV networks say they complied to the Fair Elections Act which says they would not discriminate in the airing of political ads. Thus they do not admit to any fault with allowing the broadcast of the ad involving children.

"The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) clarified that it does not have the authority to approve political advertisements on television. The poll body only regulates the duration, and not the content, of political ads on TV. However, they find nothing wrong with the ad. "Sa dinami-dami ng mga eleksyon na pinagdaanan natin, ang dami-dami nating nakikita na mga negative ads talaga."

"Grace Poe, a former chairwoman of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB), also says there is nothing wrong with the ads using children reacting to what Duterte said."

"Parang yung pagmumura, lewd jokes, and unbelievable promises of change ni Duterte, some people do not find anything wrong with them."

"Yung mali ng pag-gamit ng mga bata nakita ninyo pero yung mali ng pagmumura sa Sto. Papa, pagpapakyu, pagju-joke about rape, pagpilit ng paghalik sa babae hindi niyo nakita?"

"The children were purposely used to hammer the message that they should always be part of the consideration in our choice of leaders of the country not only because it is for their future but also because they will emulate these leaders. Besides, the children were shown in a positive light and all pertinent laws were strictly followed."

Properties the Presidential Candidates’ Money Could Buy

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Looking at the 2016 presidential candidates’ personal net worth is a good way to understand how they manage their wealth, and how they might manage the Philippine economy should they get elected.

There are only days left before the 2016 presidential elections, yet many voters continue to look for additional information regarding the candidates. While not the be-all-and-end-all in selecting the next national leader, their net worth is a good indicator of how they manage their personal wealth, and how that possibly translates into their ability to lead the growth of the Philippine economy should they get elected.

To that end, we list the individual net worth of Vice President Jejomar Binay, former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas, Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, and Senators Grace Poe-Llamanzares and Miriam Defensor Santiago based on their latest Statements of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN), and attempt to quantify these by exploring the real estate possibilities that could be afforded by their personal wealth.

Diwa Partylist Representative Emmeline Aglipay-Villar Commemorates Gen. Gregorio Aglipay's 156th Birthday

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Commemorating the 156th Birthday of Philippine revolution hero and independent church founder Gen. Gregorio Aglipay, Diwa Partylist Representative  Emmeline "Em" Aglipay-Villar was at the Pandesal Forum of Kamuning Bakery on May 5, 2016 for a small ceremony and press conference.

The Diwa partylist is running for re-election and represented by the daughter in law of the Manuel and Cynthia Villar whose son Mark is married to Em Aglipay, the great great granddaughter of Gen. Gregorio Aglipay.

Em goes on to share a lengthy speech to both explain about why the good general never had a fair share of recognition even though he had numerous worthy acts during his time. It was said that the general ran for President against Quezon during his time but failed to win because he was not popular with the Americans back then.

The lady representative of Diwa also shared some of their advocacy platform primarily focused on far and just labor practices. She shared that they are in favor of ending contractualization but only for the non-core functions of a business. She used as example an airline where the pilots and stewardess would be considered as part of the core functions of the business which should not hire contractual employees for the said positions. Meanwhile functions like catering would be considered as open for contractualization.

SophosLabs Research Finds “Designer” Cyber Threats on the Rise

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Sophos, a global leader in network and endpoint security, today revealed SophosLabs research that indicates a growing trend among cybercriminals to target and even filter out specific countries when designing ransomware and other malicious cyberattacks. The research includes information from millions of endpoints worldwide and is analyzed by the team at SophosLabs.

To lure more victims with their attacks, cybercriminals are now crafting customized spam to carry threats using regional vernacular, brands and payment methods for better cultural compatibility, according to Sophos.

Ransomware cleverly disguised as authentic email notifications, complete with counterfeit local logos, is more believable, highly clickable and therefore more financially rewarding to the criminal. To be as effective as possible, these scam emails now impersonate local postal companies, tax and law enforcement agencies and utility firms, including phony shipping notices, refunds, speeding tickets and electricity bills. SophosLabs has seen a rise in spam where the grammar is more often properly written and perfectly punctuated.

“You have to look harder to spot fake emails from real ones,” said Chester Wisniewski, senior security advisor at Sophos. “Being aware of the tactics used in your region is becoming an important aspect of security.”

The Launch of the New MINI Convertible

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Your Pambansang Blogger ng Pilipinas was invited to attend the launch of the new MINI convertible,  the only premium convertible in the small car segment that offers a refreshing open-top driving experience on all four seats. held on April 5, 2016 at the MINI showroom in Bonifacio Global City.

MINI Asia and MINI Philippines says it is available in two variants: MINI Cooper Convertible S and MINI John Cooper Works Convertible. What was unveiled to us during the launch was the former in a stunning chili red color. Now, is this something fiery to drive during the scorching summer heat in the Philippines? Why not! Who cares about the heat when we could look fabulously good driving the MINI Convertible.

Seriously, we can easily put on the car roof for the sunny or rainy days, and only partially open it during days when you just want to feel the natural blow of the wind instead of the air-conditioning. But when the breeze is cool, just like the MINI Convertible, we can fully open up the top for a more refreshing drive around everywhere, within the metro or at the provinces.

Shockvertising: Anti-Duterte TV Advertisement Infuriates Public for Exploiting Children

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Who created and paid for this Anti-Duterte TV advertisement using children to convey the impending threat to society?

Some say that "The children are saying things that are true. They were not made to lie. Besides children have been used and abused a lot in the media especially those stupid drama series. Why complain when children say the truth? Because Duterte is offended and is such a drama queen?" and that "The words that were said on the TV ad came from Duterte himself."

Below are some of the thoughts coming from different people that I gathered from my social media timelines. I selected those whose ideas seems agreeable to what I would like to also share to my readers, but there are also points that I included to be fair and somewhat bring out some humor to this chaotic pre-election season.

"The shockvertising aired last night proves one thing. Mas madami talaga nanonood sa ABS-CBN. Everybody's ganging up against ABS while reports say it was also shown on other channels."

I actually saw it already a few days before from somewhere which I could not remember. But my reaction was pale in comparison to what I am seeing now on my social media timelines.

In a tweet from MTRCB, they inform the general public that it is the COMELEC which has sole jurisdiction to regulate political TV ads under the Fair Elections Act.

"In a statement, ABS-CBN said it had nothing to do with the production of the political ad, and that it was "duty bound to air a legitimate ad."

"The controversial political advertisement being talked about in social media, which aired on ABS-CBN, was produced and paid for by Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV. Prior to the airing, ABS-CBN’s ethics committee reviewed the content of the material, which complies with the requirements of pertinent election laws," the company said.

ABS-CBN pointed out that Commission on Elections' (COMELEC) guidelines prohibit radio and television stations from discriminating against any candidate or political party in the sale of air time.

"By airing the said commercial, ABS-CBN is being consistent with COMELEC guidelines, which prohibit radio or television stations to discriminate in the sale of air time against any political party or candidate. We are duty bound to air a legitimate ad."

An audio version of the negative ad has been airing on radio stations.

A different negative ad about Duterte also began airing on GMA Network on Thursday. "

Mom for all Seasons: Vilma Santos Tops 2016 Lazada Polls

Wazzup Pilipinas!

To celebrate mother’s day, Lazada , the country’s one stop shopping and selling destination, conducted an online survey among members of the Lazada Super Moms and main FB page. Survey results are based on direct consumer responses and not reflective of the views of Lazada.com or its employees.

Lazada moms are Vilmanians at heart with 69% of respondents saying she is the best representation of a mother, winning over other showbiz icons Sharon Cuneta, Dawn Zulueta and Jaclyn Jose.

Ely beats Chris, but Brad lords over them all

When it comes to music and entertainment, the popularity of local band Eraserheads (40%) beats out international bands, Coldplay and U2. But when it comes to Hollywood crushes, Leo (24%) still has a long way to go before reaching Brad’s (53%) stature.

Mom’s everyday essentials

Moms are more active than ever before. With the limitless number of mom apps available, almost three (71%) out of four respondents prefer using an Android over an iOS. Function over femininity rules as moms prefer wearing shorts (45.3%) as their comfy #OOTD, with jeans as a close contender (43.7%). Baby wipes top their survival kit must have (36.0%) to take out.

Value Hunters and Pamperers

Moms are always on the lookout for great deals, especially during sales (37.6%). For example in diapers, Huggies was ranked as the most preferred and trusted brand by moms (34.4%). Interesting to note that moms would rather (1) buy during a sale, (2) use discount vouchers or (3) buy product bundles than ask allowance from dad when the household budget gets pretty tight.

One thing moms aren’t afraid to scrimp on are themselves. 36% of respondents described themselves as part of the Health and Beauty category. When asked what form of dieting they prefer, moms prefer a diet of fruits and veggies (58%) instead of depriving themselves of sweets or rice. For mini-breaks, a surprising 41.2% prefer staycations over out of town getaways.

Animal Planet Celebrates Motherhood on May 8

Wazzup Pilipinas!

The art of being a mother is more complex than any of us could have imagined. Even in the animal kingdom, mothers have a lot to teach us. On May 8, Animal Planet celebrates Mother’s Day by showing that universal truth through several special one-offs starting at 8PM.

Following a well-established pride of lions on the plains of the Serengeti, Queen of the Beasts will attempt to unravel the story of the "King of Beasts" and the role of his queen, the lioness, in pride life. The lion, for all his size and swagger, is revealed as more a consort than a king.

Real power lies with the queen. It is the lionesses who own the territory and provide the ongoing stability for the pride: mothers, daughters, aunts and grandmothers form a close-knit group that looks after all the cubs, and surprisingly, the old and infirm. Queen of the Beasts airs May 8, 8PM on Animal Planet.

In Wildwives of Savannah Lane, mothers are guarantors of the savannah's diversity -- picky about their partners, yet in most cases, utterly devoted to their young. Which creatures among these have mastered the ways in which to be the perfect wildwife?

Balding and Thinning Hair Solved with MAXiM MEGA Sessions

Wazzup Pilipinas!

One of the most fearsome thoughts for both men and women is the prospect of balding. Thinning hair or hair that grows in patches can be just as alarming.

A fear of baldness is called phalacrophobia. But even just the loss of a little hair can cause major anxiety for some people.

Now, those with balding heads or thinning hair can find a quick solution to their problem at MAXiM, an international hair restoration center based here in the Philippines. The answer is MAXiM’s MEGA Sessions – a procedure that allows clients to grow a good head of hair from just one visit. In the MEGA Sessions, up to 4,000 grafts of hair (up to 10,000 hair follicles) are implanted on the scalp in one sitting so clients do not have to do multiple visits.

MEGA Sessions are unique to MAXiM, which has been doing various types of hair transplant procedures on local and foreign clients since 2004. While other hair centers can only transplant 1,000 to 2,000 grafts, MAXiM plastic surgeons and nurses are uniquely qualified to perform Mega Sessions that already produce satisfying results in just one session.

“The big advantage of MEGA Sessions, besides the great improvement in looks, is that the client does not have to keep coming back to the clinic for repeat sessions just to get a full head of hair. The improvement in appearance and image is really quite significant and many clients are pleased. With a full head of hair, many of our clients tell us they have landed good jobs, gotten promotions, found the love of their lives, and have renewed self-confidence because of their youthful look,” said MAXiM Hair Restoration CEO Mac Fadra.

Analyst Says None of the Presidential Front-Runners Can Secure Strong Mandate Like President Aquino

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Miguel Chanco, Lead Analyst, ASEAN, at the EIU based in Singapore, has provided some insight and predictions on the upcoming presidential elections in the Philippines on Monday, 9 May.

"On Monday 9th May, the Philippines heads to the polls to elect a new President.

Unfortunately, this election looks set to put a dent in the Philippines’ recent positive economic performance, whatever the result. None of the front-runners are likely to secure a mandate as strong as Benigno Aquino’s, current and 15th President of the Philippines. Long the “sick man of Asia”, the Philippines has made slow and steady improvements in infrastructure, regulatory environment and in reducing corruption, that has led to a steady uptick in most economic indicators. Most notable is the boom in investment, which has increased by over 10% in three of the last four years.

In an echo of Donald Trump in the US, a divisive and controversial candidate, Rodrigo Duterte has had a storming campaign and now has a real chance of winning. However, the campaign of the other possible winner, Grace Poe, has been marred by questions of eligibility and her victory could be challenged in court by the runner-up. While a messy transition in government is a given, things will look very different depending on who wins. The country's fundamentals are such that the EIU believe that the Philippines will rise from being the world's 33rd biggest economy today, to 21st by 2030 - just behind the Netherlands - but the ride will be a bit rockier.”

3 Reasons to Go Out And S.E.E. the World

Wazzup Pilipinas!

I just came home from a 5-day trip to Siem Reap, Cambodia. I attended the 28th SSEAYP International General Assembly (SIGA). SSEAYP, or Ship for Southeast Asian Youth Program, is an annual program sponsored by the Japanese government. Every year, hundreds of youth from Japan and the ASEAN countries gather to embrace cultural diversity, and collaborate to discuss social matters affecting the youth sector… aboard the luxury ship Nippon Maru for over 40 days. SIGA, on the other hand, is an annual grand reunion of all SSEAYP alumni, held in different ASEAN countries every year.

Being a SSEAYP delegate back in the year 2000 is one of the biggest milestones in my life. At the age of 21, I travelled abroad for the first time… and as a part of an international youth program!

Traveling, as they say, is food for the soul. I could not agree more with that statement. As a youth advocate and a motivational speaker, I have been to more than 50 provinces in the Philippines and 30 countries around the world. Going places helps me grow as an individual. I have gained more wisdom through traveling than anything else I have ever done in my life.

I encourage everyone to go out and S.E.E. the world, and here are the 3 reasons why:

Send More Love to Your Mom this Mother’s Day

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Every day people are in a rush – and sadly on Mother’s Day this is no different. Some of us are squeezing the time to buy the perfect gift for our moms into our hectic work schedule, while the others have to seek the help of other people to buy the gift for them. And the challenge comes not only in the purchasing stage – it also occurs on the day itself, when people find it difficult to give their purchased present to their mom in person on her special day.

If you ever find yourself caught up in this situation, then you’ll be glad to know that Zyllem – one of the fastest growing logistics innovators in the Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore – is happy to give you a hand in sending your parcels, sealing them with love and care.

According to Quito San Agustin, country managing director of Zyllem Philippines, most people in the workforce are able to buy their gifts for their moms but fail to give that to them personally because of time and distance constraints: “We all face the hurdle of finding a fantastic gift idea that’s as unique as our mother. But sometimes, we fail to send it to them right away because work impedes us from doing so, let alone the distance that separates us from our moms,” San Agustin said.

“Knowing this is true for many people around the Philippines — this Mother’s Day, we want to make sure that everyone will be able to show how much their mom means to them through our same day services. We will be open the entire Mother’s Day weekend so that we can help individuals in their surprise delivery. With our same day services, your mom is sure to receive her special Mother’s Day gift pack in good time," he said.

Rodrigo Duterte Shows BPI Bank Balances

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Rodrigo Duterte showed one BPI peso and one BPI dollar account at the Philippine Star press conference earlier today. Ipapakain daw niya kay Mar Roxas yung isa dahil sa paratang. Ganoon din kaya kay Sonny Trillanes? Abangan!

"Trillanes, asked by Rappler if he was satisfied with the March 31, 2014 certification, said, “No, definitely not. We are asking for the transaction history.”" - Rappler
The BPI Bank certification that Duterte showed to the Philstar press conference says he only has 1 account at BPI as of March 31, 2014 However, he showed 11 passbooks which could mean he has been very active in depositing and/or withdrawing, or he has been with the bank for a long time. What happened? We should see his bank transactions from the start and until the announcement of Trillanes. Not the current balance as of March 31, 2014. A lot could happen within two years from 2014 to the present.

Duterte also showed that his BPI dollar account has been stagnant since 2013. Why the need to show his dollar account when we know that is not what Trillanes is asking from him? Oh, it was Mar Roxas who claimed Duterte has large amounts in his dollar account? Let Duterte also show us all his peso accounts, not just one..or does he have only one?

The show features two buddies, Aaron and Lee, who have no other culinary qualifications other than being food lovers and passionate home cooks. They are regular guys who have full-time nine to five jobs and who go through the grind of everyday life just like everyone else, but are still able to find time to cook themselves, and occasionally friends and family, a good meal.

In each episode, they will teach the viewers to cook two to three dishes for a particular occasion. The occasions are made to mirror real life situations and range from cooking a meal for a new girlfriend to meeting the prospective in-laws to making a meal for football night with the boys.

The result – simple yet impressive food and lots of fun! 2 Dudes & a Kitchen premieres May 23, airing Mondays at 9PM on TLC.

BeamAndGo Leads Socio-Civic Groups in Empowering OFW Children

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Financial technology startup BeamAndGo, in partnership with the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) and the Villar SIPAG Foundation staged a interactive workshop dubbed LearnAndGo: My Ticket to an Empowered Life on April 23, 2016. The seminar focused on the needs and challenges of one of the most vulnerable groups in society – Overseas Filipino Workers and their children.

Senator Cynthia Villar stressed the extreme irony of the OFW situation: A person leaves the country in a move to better financially establish the family but this act often results in tearing that same family apart due to the distance between members.

“The main problem is that the OFWs leave their children and the family has a hard time coping. It’s so ironic that they earn money for their children yet their families can end up broken. May pera pero wala yung guidance ng magulang.”

It is for this reason that the CBCP through the Episcopal Commission for the Pastoral Care for Migrants and Itinerant People (ECMI), Villar SIPAG Foundation, and BeamAndGo crafted the program for the children as they are most affected by such separations. There are numerous stories of how such children end up dropping out of school or getting involved in not very productive activities because at least one parent is missing and cannot provide correct guidance.

Rising Internet Use In Emerging Markets: A Business Opportunity

Wazzup Pilipinas!

The internet is increasingly integrated in everyday life in emerging countries, yet the rate of web connectivity in these regions still lags significantly behind more developed markets.

On a global scale, the number of Internet users worldwide hit an estimated 3.2 billion in 2015 - that’s about 43 percent of the world’s population who now have access to the web. Of these, two billion web users are based in the emerging markets, according to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).

This means that for every Internet user in the developed world, there are two in developing countries. Yet significant disparities in access remain. Figures from the ITU show that 34 percent of households in developing countries have Internet access. In developed countries, 80 percent of households have an Internet connection.

However, while Internet usage in the developed world significantly outstrips that in the emerging markets, the fast-growing internet penetration rate outside of the west presents an opportunity for online businesses operating in Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa. Moreover, while shopping for clothes or searching for property online have been common practice in developed markets for some time, these tasks are now catching on in emerging countries.

Dennis Quaid and Kate Bosworth Set to Sizzle on The Art of More at Sony Channel

Wazzup Pilipinas!

A gripping new drama series stars is set to premiere this May 24 on Sony Channel. "The Art of More" is an original Sony production, which exposes the secretive, exclusive and corrupt world of auction houses.

The critically acclaimed original series is a winning combination of thrilling storylines and outstanding casting. Delving into the business of art collectors who employ modern day treasure hunters to pursue priceless artefacts at any cost, it is hard to tell collector from criminal. This outwardly glamourous occupation is layered in deceit, fraud and racketeers.

Graham Connor (Christian Cooke) is a new executive at Parke-Mason working for Arthur Davenport (Cary Elwes), a shrewd and eccentric world-class collector of art and illegal antiquities. Utilizing Connor's connections with a smuggling ring he encountered during his tour in Iraq, they procure priceless artifacts for his clients who don't care how their objects of desire are acquired.

Dennis Quaid, also an executive producer, stars as charismatic real estate shark Samuel Brukner, who has a penchant for ill-gotten art, and Kate Bosworth as Roxanna Whitman, daughter of the CEO of one of the two warring auction houses.

Whether buyer, seller or something in between, everyone in "The Art of More" is chasing something they covet and struggling with the extent they will go when unchecked by morality.

Sony's first one-hour scripted drama series from its U.S based streaming service Crackle.com, will air from May 24, Tuesday at 8.50pm, first and exclusively on Sony Channel.

Sony Channel is seen on SKYCable Channel 35, Cignal Digital TV Channel 60, Destiny Cable Channel 62, Cable Link Channel 39.

James Reid and Nadine Lustre Tandem Fails to Impress at This Time Movie

Wazzup Pilipinas!

There is a growing disappointment of Pinoy movies. Until today, we have not even reached a point that is even close to a good story-telling. You want to know why? It's all about having good-looking stars who couldn't even act appropriately. Puro porma at pa-cute lang pero walang talent. Ang problema kasi ay yung may mga totoong talent ay nakaka-ta-kyut.

The best example is the latest movie entitled This Time featuring the JaDine love team, James Reid and Nadine Lustre, in lead roles.

"On the first few scenes of THIS TIME, in the utmost attempt to be funny, its characters poke fun at the corpse of the dead and at the sanctity of praying. It then becomes a running joke that borders offense." says a movie critic.

The movie critic continues to praise only the supporting actors in their effort to be funny, but still implying the fact that their presence were only significant because of their iconic image from yesteryears when they were still popular.

He goes on to say "As for James Reid and Nadine Lustre, it's so hard to understand where those feelings are coming from. While the kilig factor might always be there for the sake of its growing fandom, and so it can take a good stand on its genre, way past the smiles and giggles is a blurred image, a muddled reflection that defeats the beauty of good storytelling. At the end of it all, you get nothing."

Fishackathon 2016 Manila: Leveraging Technology to Save and Protect Fisheries and Marine Resources

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Over 10 percent of the world’s population depends on fisheries and agriculture for their livelihood and for many people, fish is a major source of protein in their diet. Yet, these vital resources are continuously threatened by overfishing, illegal fishing, climate change, water pollution, and other dangers to marine life.

This situation prompted the US government to come out with Fishackathon in 2014 to tap the expertise of tech-savvy individuals through a two-day coding marathon aimed at developing apps that could benefit sustainable fisheries and the communities that they support.

From just a handful of US cities during its first year, Fishackathon 2016 has expanded to 42 cities in six continents which included Manila given that the issue is very relevant to an island nation like the Philippines.

“The fish that the people rely on for food, the coastal areas which are so vulnerable to typhoons and water surges, eco-tourism, climate change, effects of pollution to coral reefs -- these are extremely important to the Philippines and that’s why we want to use your talent to help address these concerns. We know firsthand the efficiency and innovation that the tech sector can bring to the table in approaching one of the world’s biggest problems,” US Ambassador to the Philippines Philip Goldberg told the participants during his opening remarks at Fishackathon Manila hosted by Globe Telecom over the weekend.

On the other hand, Glenn Estrella, Globe Vice President for Digital Ventures rallied everyone to make a difference both for the Philippines and the world even as he noted that Globe strongly supports the use of technology in saving and preserving the environment.

Contractualization and Casualization: Understanding the Real Issues

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Now this will be an interesting event to attend, as it tackles about the very controversial issue of contractualization - something all presidential candidates are promising to end when they get elected. It's happening today, May 4, 2016 at St. Luke's Auditorium at Bonifacio Global City.

Is ending contractualization possible when most companies, especially the huge ones, have been doing it for years. It defnitely saves them a lot because they do not need to offer extra benefits and privileges and it will be easier for them to replace or renew their manpower, as per the need, on a regular basis. However, the labor force gets very little assurance of their job as they could never predict how long they would have a source of income. Workers do not get that enough motivation to plan their future as it will be very unpredictable.

Below is their official announcement of the event:

"During the last presidential debate in Pangasinan seen on nationwide TV, there were very strong statements of denunciations and calling for the abrogation of DO 18-A, as well as promises of ending the practice of contractualization by presidential candidates once they are elected.

The labor front is now rejoicing as practically all presidential aspirants swear that they shall end the practice of CONTRACTUALIZATION soon as they take their seat as president. But can it really be done? Are you aware that all companies operating in our country, one way or the other, employ contractual employees? or find value in OUTSOURCING?

Ironically, the next president of the Philippines swear to high heaven that he/she will stop this practice?

Listen toTHE EIGHT (8) INEVITABLE REASONS WHY LEGITIMATE JOB CONTRACTING CANNOT AND SHOULD NOT BE STOPPED!!!

Latest Survey Says Mar Rohas is Now Leading the Presidential Race

Wazzup Pilipinas!

D' Stratworks Research & Strategies, Inc. has just released a survey showing how Mar Rohas has gained the lead in the presidential race. The bet of the current administration has finally made it to the top of the surveys.

Rohas has been way below the other two candidates who previously fought a tight lead so many supporters were surprised of this sudden change of momentum. Who would have thought Rohas would be able to catch up.

Followed by Grace Pole in second place, the lead of Mar Rohas is noticeably not that high and that the small percentage could very well become a tie soon if they conduct another survey before the election on May 9, 2016.

Grace Pole still maintains her love for the Filipino people even though she was formerly an American citizen by oath. We are still not sure if her husband and son already did the same return as Filipino citizens but we are sure they would be welcomed as contestants for That's My Foreignoy talent search. We've seen how her son can dance really well, and I'm sure her husband could match it up with a song number.

It was apparent that the third placer, Rodrigo Dudirty has lost the confidence of the masses due to his unapologetic behavior on his joke about an Austrian vape victim. It looks like the ultimate burden caused by his malicious behavior has put a heavy toll on the mayor of Dabao. The people's original perception towards him as a savior from hell has obviously weakened to his disadvantage.

Jojo Binat, regardless of his continued decline to explain his side regarding the overpriced skin whitening soaps and lotions he has purchased for his constituents monthly town hall meetings, has amassed enough points to reach the fourth position which is not so far from Dudirty.

Many are saying the two are best of friends that is why there is now a case against Trillanes from his son as a form of vengeance against Trillanes discovery of Dudirty's hidden accounts and properties. Until now, the public has not been given the pleasure of examining the accounts of Dudirty at the COC Julia Vargas town hall,

Meanwhile, Miriam Saintako is still at the lowest percentage of the survey inspite of her courage to persist in curing her sickly state. It was reported that she has been taking special medicines not even available yet commercially in the supermarket, groceries or drug stores all over the world. She said she will reveal the cure as soon as she confirms its effectiveness by surviving her dreaded disease of old age.

We would like to remind all the voters out there to be extra careful in selecting your candidates for the different positions in the land. Please do not do the lazy vote by only voting for the most popular candidate or those that made the extra effort of handing you some transportation and snack allowance contained inside an envelope.

Please be wary of the deceivers and false prophets that has tried to make themselves look like your saviour. Only you can save yourself by making the right choice and not the lazy choice.

Wazzup With All These Duterte v Trillanes Hullabaloo?

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Now with regards to the secret bank account at BPI Julia Vargas of Mayor Rodrigo Duterte that was exposed by Senator Antonio Trillanes, the fastest solution to all these hullabaloo is to allow the public to see Duterte's bank account...then criticize and humiliate Trillanes for being wrong.

If Duterte was there, right there and then ay pwede na niyang ipakita ang kanyang bank account. Tapos na sana ang hiwaga if he was willing to show it publicly.

Now the public will never know the truth until after the election.

Chatri Sityodtong Brings MMA to the Mainstream in Asia

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) is considered by some to be the fastest growing sport in the world. Just in the past decade alone, viewership has increased from the hundreds of thousands to the millions. Though the allure and excitement of martial arts in a safe and competitive environment has drawn fans from all corners of the globe, the sport’s popularity in Asia can be attributed to one Thai entrepreneur from humble beginnings.

Meet Chatri Sityodtong, the 45-year-old businessman who spearheaded MMA’s success in Asia as one of the co-founders of the Singapore-based ONE Championship, today the largest sports media property in the region.

In 2011, ONE Championship was built with the aim of unifying all of Asia’s martial arts talent under one global MMA powerhouse. It began with a small fanbase of hardcore MMA fans excited at the possibilities of what would become a global phenomenon. Five years later, ONE Championship is broadcast to a potential 1 billion homes in over 70 countries worldwide. The organization is also working with various blue-chip sponsors to sign the top MMA talent and world champions in Asia to exclusive contracts.

“My passion and love for martial arts gave me the drive to bring ONE Championship to fans in Asia who yearned for exciting live MMA events in their own backyard. I have trained in Muay Thai and various other martial arts my entire life, and I felt compelled to showcase the sport’s beauty not just to Asia, but to the entire world,” said Sityodtong.
