Caffe Bene: The Coffee That's Just Right For Me

Wazzup Pilipinas !

Coffee was meant to be enjoyed as it is and not by the use of so much sweeteners and many other tidbits of add-ins. I was actually worried back then when coffee shops or cafes became a destination for whipped creamed and chocolate syrup-ed coffees. The real goodness of coffee was destroyed because its now being masked by sweets.

You can't really blame the fad or trend or whatever it is called because life is so complex it becomes so interestingly wonderful. I often would say to myself that they should bring back coffee the way it was meant to be. But I guess people also come for the sweets, and the desserts, and the ambiance, and the company of social media mania peeps who loves to hang out at places where's there wifi and a comfortable seat to spend the rest of their time. Well, I'm one of those peeps who felt the need to be one among the individuals that's making coffee shops rich, just because everyone else that I know is there - and quite often than not, its where we meet, converse, bond and share ideas.

So when I heard about this cafe which originated from Seoul, South Korea that takes pride in announcing a coffee that's medium roasted thus making it better tasting like a medium rare grilled steak and requires less sugar and creamer to improve the taste, then I was willing to try it out for a change. Maybe there's hope for coffee after all.

Caffe Bene is a leading coffee label of Korea. Just like what it said on their website, Caffé Bene stores has a Vintage European Interior Accentuated by Cute Korean Designs. True to its name, which means "good or well," all of Caffe Bene's outlets feature the use of wood and earth tones for a friendly, warm and cozy ambiance, giving it a distinct European feel with subtle Korean touches. You can definitely smell the aroma of coffee and waffles filling the place. Caffe Bene is comparatively more spacious than the typical coffee shops that we are used to.

Caffe Bene was founded in May 2008 by Sun-Kwon Kim, current CEO of Caffe Bene. Caffe Bene is the largest coffeehouse in South Korea in terms of the number of stores.

I think Caffe Bene is the only coffee shop that serves Italian Gelato.

Are they coffee potions? Is there an antidote for all that coffee addiction or mania? I can't stop drinking tyhe amazing coffee from Korea.

The huge watch with roman numerals is only for display. The hands do not move even an inch. Its merely a decor in the coffee shop.

It doesn't have a menu yet so people will have to look on the menu wall.

Caffe Bene roasts its own coffee beans to achieve their distinct Medium Roast Espressos, giving it a less bitter and richer, creamier flavor as compared to the regular blends of other brands. The exclusive party intended for some cupping session with selected bloggers educated us to some coffee tasting experience. We were introduced to three types of coffee preparations, with two of them from different brands.

Three types of coffee were put to the test by undergoing a smell and taste activity.

Caffe Bene launched its first international store in New York, USA, on February 1st, 2012. It is located in Times Square in Manhattan and boasts its size of 600 m² (equivalent to 6458 ft²), one of the biggest coffee shops in the area. . Caffe Bene just doesn't serve coffee. Caffe Bene also specializes in Belgian waffles, including savory varieties with bacon and Parmesan in the dough. It is a trend-setting multi-cultural space that offers an ideal combination of coffee, waffle, and gelato. They have many great desserts that goes well with coffee - especially Caffe Bene coffee!

Caffe Bene's rich, medium roast Americano was served in their signature "kiss" cups. Served without sugar and cream, one can still taste a subtle sweetness and almost chocolatey note, a full flavored coffee without the usual bitter taste. A cool caffeine fix without the usual bitterness, Caffe Bene's medium roast provides a significant difference in flavor. To ensure consistency in quality, Caffe Bene only gets 2% of the world's best coffee beans sourced mainly from Brazil, Colombia and Kenya.

The Blue Berry Cream Cheese Waffle gets my vote. I am such a lover of pancakes and waffles, and likewise with blueberry so the combination of the two was more than enough for me.

Its specialty Liege Waffles, a Belgian-type waffle that is richer, sweeter, more dense and chewier than the usual light and fluffy waffle. The use of pearl sugar which caramelizes on the outside when baked adds to the flavor and texture of Caffe Bene's Liege Waffles. Each Liege Waffle is made fresh upon ordering, and no waffles are pre-made and stocked, so you get your waffles fresh off the waffle iron.

The Garlic and Cheeze Honeybread was heavenly soft and yummy - and wow! Such a huge serving!

The Banana cream waffle was a best seller among us. We enjoyed every last bite of this sumptuous dessert.

The Strawberry Bingsu seems familiar, and I'm betting you know it already.

Meet our newest discovery from Caffe Bene. We just couldn't help but ask her to pose with the Cafe Bene's version of our Halo-Halo.

I went back to the store a few days after and tried out their Caramel Cinnamon Honey Bread. It was as huge as the Garlic and Cheeze Honeybread, and so equally great-tasting too. The combination of Caramel and Cinnamon is a real winner to the taste!

Caffe Bene is located at Eastwood City Walk 2, Libis, Quezon City.
