Isko Moreno Slams Establishments With Products Declaring Manila as Province of China

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno slammed the business establishment that described Manila as the “Province of China” on the packaging of one of its beauty products.

The city mayor immediately ordered the closure of the said store, and a few more doing the same.

"Hindi po natin papayagan na para bang inaangkin ang ating malayang bansa o ang Lungsod ng Maynila.

Ang Binondo ay bahagi ng Maynila. Ang Maynila ay bahagi ng Pilipinas. Ang Maynila ang kapitolyo ng bansa. Hindi ito probinsya ng China, at hindi kailanman naging bahagi ng China.

Hindi po ako governor ng China. Mayor po ako ng Maynila, Pilipinas. No way na harap-harapan niyong aalipustahin ang aming lungsod. Hangga't ako ang Mayor ng lungsod, you have no place here.

Big check, Yorme! Inangkin na nga nila karagatan natin tapos pati ba naman sarili nating lupa maghari-harian pa sila! Ayaw ninyo sumunod sa batas, layas at doon kayo sa bansa ninyo! Yorme to Chinese nationals in the Philippines: Follow our laws or face deportation.

But I hate to break it to you, Yorme, pero yung mamang bastos sa Malacanang ang nangunang magsabi na Province of China tayo. Watchuganado about it Yorme? I like you so much but it's about time you cut ties with the madman in Malacanang.

Yorme Isko Moreno and Vico Sotto: two mayors of their respective cities are the real leaders of our country. We are so proud of them!

The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) is now calling for submissions for Sine Wikain: Sandaang Pagpapaalala, an online challenge celebrating the ‘Buwan ng Wika’ and the closing of ‘Sine Sandaan: The One Hundred Years of Philippine Cinema. Spotlighting the interpretation of ‘salawikain’ into vertical short films, #SineWikainChallenge is a social media challenge meant to remind Filipinos about childhood teachings while also providing positive content and values that could uplift us amid the pandemic.

The online short film challenge is an endeavor and vision shared by renowned actor Leo Martinez with FDCP. Under the challenge, participants may select any of the 100 salawikain in the list provided by FDCP and creatively interpret it into a short film shot on their mobile phones in portrait mode. Each short film must contain a maximum running time of two minutes. The various salawikain tackle a broad number of topics about life, love, family, friendship, and character development. It was partly inspired by the Good Moral and Right Conduct (GMRC) Law, which institutionalized GMRC and Character Development as part of the K-12 curriculum.

There will be two categories available depending on the participant’s age, an adult category and a youth category for those aged 17 and below. Any individual may place their entry online by simply posting on social media, either through Facebook, Twitter, and/or TikTok. Participants may likewise form groups with their friends with a maximum of three people under each submission. Each individual or group is limited to one entry for the challenge.

Participants of the #SineWikainChallenge will have the chance to win cash prizes, with a maximum of PHP 15,000 for the 1st place winners in both adult and youth categories, PHP 10,000 for the 2nd place winners, and PHP 5,000 for third place. In addition, FDCP will select 20 participants in each category to receive PHP 2,000. The winners will be announced on September 23, through FDCP’s Facebook and Twitter pages as well as on the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino and Sine Sandaan pages.

With the easy-to-join mechanics, FDCP urges the Filipino youth and our many users of social media to find creative ways of using their phones and social media platforms, and discover them as a source of filmmaking and promoter of positive values.

CJ Cansino Leaving the UST Growling Tigers

Wazzup Pilipinas!

The UST Growling Tigers and Season 82 team captain CJ Cansino have agreed to part ways.

Cj Cansino, a former UAAP Juniors MVP, super rookie, double-double machine, triple-double player, monster rebounder and scorer. Surely, he's gonna be a gem for his next team.

Once seen as a future cornerstone of the Tigers side, Cansino has decided to leave the school.

A proper explanation is yet to be given about those personal reasons, but what is certain is that the 6-foot-2, 20-year-old guard is said to be hopeful about continuing his career in the UAAP.

CJ Cansino leaving UST is very 2020. UST Tigers will never be the same without him.

His next destination is unknown as of the moment. I guess he couldn't handle playing 4th fiddle behind Abando, Nonoy and Chabi Yo.

Going UP? For "academic reasons" because he needs to have a career after basketball and through UP he can achieve it. But the downside is his minutes and role in the team.

They are loaded as well. Dami ng recruited guards. Siguro sa UAAP or NCAA na mabibigyan sya ng opportunities as main or second guy.

Sabagay, me Abadiano na.

Will he sacrifice his minutes to win the UAAP Men's Basketball Title. UP is in win now mode because of the quality of players that they have. All they need is to replace the coach just as I've said a couple of times in the last UAAP season.

NU - He will be the face of the team, the offense will run through him, depending on who will be their next head coach. He has no competition unlike in UST. But the pressure is on him, can he lead that team to a final 4 berth in his last 2 playing seasons in UAAP.

Letran - he wants to go to a school that has the same feeling as to UST because they are sister schools. The Letran crowd is also same to the UST crowd, they are die hard fans. He will still have his UST fans supporting him.

SMC connection because he might play on a SMC team in the PBA after he finishes his Collegiate career.

DLSU - it might be a long shot but who knows. The team is also in a win now situation and will maximize the 2 remaining years of Cansino's eligibility.

All I know is this will be a hard decision for @cjcansino, he loves the Thomasian Community and vice versa. I hope him for the best in his next move as a player.

I also wish that the current UST coach didn't make a huge mistake by letting him leave the team.

Can you still remember when Ricci Rivero left DLSU and now CJ Cansino will be leaving UST. Can you imagine what will Brent Paraiso feel after CJ Cansino and Ricci Rivero left him?

I know CJ Cansino’s departure is heartbreaking but please don’t drag other Tigers down. I was watching Brent since his DLSU days, he didn’t have much playing time back then since La Salle is loaded with A LOT of talented players(Ricci, Ben, Aljun, J. TENG, etc).
