Hospitals Waiting for DOH Signal to Start Using Japanese Avigan for Clinical Trials

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Some hospitals are just waiting for the 'go signal' of DOH to start the trial of using the Japanese anti-flu drug Avigan in treating the Sars-nCov or Corona virus disease we are all familiar with as Covid.

"Favipiravir" was donated to DOH and will be allotted to patients who are part of the Avigan clinical trial.

It is really difficult for to us to understand the mindset of our government officials in dealing with the Corona Virus pandemic. Despite the Avigan drug was abandoned in Japan, the drug was brought in our country  to be tested on the Filipino people while they flatly rejected the application of the Fabunan antiviral injection whose potential is so great as the combination of drug used were long been used and safe. They should have done what the Indonesian government had done with the FAI whose success will be announced anytime soon.

WHO is funded by Bill Gates.

Sad story that DOH is leaning on failed medicine because its Japanese-made, while rejected the Fabunan Anti-viral because it's locally produced!

Not Avigan but Dexamethasone is actually the Approved drug by Japanese Health Ministry aside from Remdesivir for Covid-19 treatment.

Rampant Overpricing on Plants, Pots And Gardening Accessories, Sellers Taking Advantage of the Hype

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Wow $15 is ₱750 only if converted to peso! Iniimport pa yan from tropical countries to USA kasi siyempre tropical plant ang Monstera Delisciosa. Yung price dito satin masyado na yatang garapalan!

It's disappointing how plants that are so common here can get so pricey just because predominantly white people/westerners are so entranced by them at puro ganun yung mga nakikita online ng mga tao. Like sobrang hype sa kanila. It's marketing din.

Or next plant nalang dami naman dyan iba.

Lahat naman tumaas like Nintendo Switch and other consoles basta libangan.

A lot of these people try to bring in nature into their urban abodes and they genuinely get excited over new finds. A lot of people say din na "madali lang" alagaan mga ganito, mga ganyang halaman when each plant kind of has its own personality and quirks. Parang makahiya natin, pati mangga, pandan.

I mean nung una, sooobrang common ng mga halaman na 'to. Now, gets ko naman na may mga ok na seller that sell really established plants at ineffort talaga nila yung pag-alaga, but meron talagang mga OA eh hindi naman maganda yung medium na ginamit, kakarepot nila, may disease, etc. Yung iba nga mislabel pa. Jusko talaga.

May time nasa physical plant store may nakita ako kuha lang ng kuha ng pic and then ipopost online. I heard someone asked the name of her online shop, so out of curiosity I checked out her online shop grabe 4 to 5x na ang price niya. Sayang kasi nawalan ng gana yung iba to start gardening kasi ang mahal mag start.

Ang purpose sana nang pagstastart nang gardening at indoor planting ay to relax and help everybody to cope up on what is happening pero ang nangyayari ay naging sobrang garapalan at hindi na accessible sa karamihan. Yun ang nakakalungkot. Plants are supposed to help us regulate our stress level and keep us all sane in this trying times.

Sinasamantala na ng sellers ang hype, in the first place kaya nagkaroon ng ganitong hype with gardening is because people are coping with everything that is going on. Samahan naman sana my konting puso kapag mag presyo. liit tubo = dami benta = laki kita

Anyway, at least may mga ok na community ngayon where people can check if justifiable ang 30k na halaman. I mean, kung afford mo, ok, but if it has to come down between a plant or pambayad sa tuition, etc. gurl... choices.

DOTr sends two reefer vans to Romblon as part of ongoing ‘Palamigan ng Bayan’ project amid COVID-19 pandemic

Wazzup Pilipinas!

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) sent two refrigerated container vans (reefer vans) to Romblon as part of its ongoing “Palamigan ng Bayan” project which aims to help local government units store perishable goods and farm produce amid the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

The two reefer vans, donated by Maersk Line, were repaired and delivered to the DOTr through the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) by the Association of International Shipping Lines Inc. (AISL) on 3 July 2020.

On 24 July 2020, the two reefer vans were sent by the DOTr, with the assistance of Starhorse Shipping Lines, Inc. and Certified Customs Brokerage Inc., to the towns of San Agustin, and Romblon, in Romblon province.

An initiative by Transport Secretary Arthur Tugade, the “Palamigan ng Bayan” project aims to help the agriculture sector preserve the quality of their farm produce and gain better market access, as well as further strengthen and boost the government's response efforts amid the current economic crisis brought about by the (COVID-19) pandemic.

“It has always been my goal for our provinces, especially those that rely heavily on agriculture, to have access to reefer container vans or what we call as "Palamigan ng Bayan,” said Secretary Tugade.

“Now that we are facing an unprecedented crisis, we can clearly see how crucial it is to support the agriculture sector. It is high time to boost our initiative and reach areas that are in dire need of help,” Secretary Tugade added.

The two reefer vans add to the initial eleven (11) “Palamigan” donated reefers that have been deployed to various municipalities and cities across the country. The first refrigerated container van was sent to Bohol in 2018.

On April 13, two reefer container vans were deployed to the One Bataan Center in Orani, Bataan to help preserve the supply of perishable goods, including fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, and fish products in the province. This was followed by another five refrigerated containers being sent to Dingalan, Aurora; Tubigon, Bohol; Claveria, Cagayan; Iloilo Province; and Ormoc City, Leyte.

On May 4, the Cebu Port Authority (CPA) reported to the DOTr that the three reefer container vans intended for Cebu Province were turned over to its Provincial Government. The CPA assisted in the turn-over. The agency also reported that one of the three units was already deployed to the Municipality of San Remigio Fish Port, while the remaining two were delivered to Cebu South Bus terminal to be used for the Provincial Bagsakan Central.

For his part, DOTr Assistant Secretary for Maritime Transport VADM Narciso Vingson Jr. affirmed that these reefer vans are already being used by the respective municipalities.

“Following the mandate of DOTr Secretary Tugade, we are monitoring these reefers vans and assessing to ensure that they are being used. So far, reports received from the ground confirm that they are serving their purpose,” Asec Vingson said.

PPA General Manager Jay Daniel Santiago also stressed the importance of the initiative, especially during this period that the country is grappling with a health crisis.
