Color Manila Apology Letter to Cosplayers

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Color Manila, fun run organizer, has issued a letter of apology to the cosplayers they invited to participate for free at their recent Marvel Run held at the Mall of Asia complex last Saturday, July 7, 2018.

Apparently, cosplayers were disgrubtked over how they were mistreated or given lesser importance as they were left behind, with not even water, before, during, and after the rain even somehow ruined the fun run.

The cosplayers were there dressed up as popular Marvel superheroes to give more color to the fun run, and to cheer up the runners as they go through the task of completing the track.

However, from the moment they were picked up using a closed door truck to get to their post, thirsty with no water to quench, until they were drenched soaking wet in the rain, there were no Color Manila peeps to assist them.

The cosplayers went into social media to air their rants against Color Manila.

Now they have an apology.

"Hi [Name of head cosplayer withheld upon request],

First of all, I would like to express our deepest gratitute to you and the cosplay community for supporting the very first Marvel Run Philippines. We have stressed this message on how important this partnerhip with the community during our cosplayer night and the same message still stands today.

The event wasn’t perfect and has a lot of room for improvement but nevertheless, together we were able to execute this momentous event. The eyes of the cosplayer community in Asian region (and the world) are on us right now and this is a big win for the cosplay community of the Philippines.
If there’s a major area we admit we need to take care of, its the Cosplayer Program. The involvement of the cosplayers is what made this event different from any other Color Manila events. The cosplayers’ contribution make this event unique and fun for everyone. The cosplayers made a lot of kids-at-heart and Marvel fanatics see their dreams become a reality even for just a few hours. We apologise that some of them made the cosplayers feel like mascots but in spite of long lines of runners asking for photos I saw most cosplayers took this role to heart and gladly obliged to their fans’ request. I too was one of of those people who fell in line to ask for a photo with Vision (w/ an Infinity Gauntlet + payong)

We apologize that most cosplayers got wet due to heavy rain during the event and that no tent was available at the race route; some had to go to Petron (Macapagal cor Seaside) to take cover and with weight of the costume, a 500 meter walk must have felt like a travel to Asgard.
We apologize that food & drinks wasn’t given during the event. Its always part of our SOP (standard operating procedure) to provide food & drink to our event partners unless our partners assume that responsibility. I will take a closer look into this issue. I believe Edward (Cosplayer Coordinator)[Edward Limjap, Color Manila Business Development Manager] had a chance to celebrate with most of the cosplayers at Savory Restaurant, but I still wished everyone got a chance to at least spend time with us so we can show them our appreciation.

To correct these shortcomings, Toy Kingdom GC giveaway which was supposed to be given to the winners of our cosplay station, but due to rain, no station was set-up properly, we will simply recognise the efforts of all cospayers and give everyone equal amount of Toy Kingdom gift certificates.

Also, since we have cosplayers who didn’t get a chance to join the post event breakfast, we ask that we schedule another dinner to those who got involve at Marvel Run Philippines- our way of saying “Thank You”

From the bottom of my heart and in behalf of Color Manila we would like to say “Sorry” if we made any of you feel less valued. Rest assured that we treat our partners well and this is a slip.
We would like to hold a Thanksgiving dinner together with the cosplayers. This is our way of asking for a restart, I wish we can just use the Time Stone to alter the outcome but I can’t. I’m not Thanos.
So, I ask you guys to be super heroes once again and accept this sincere apology letter and help me bring order and unity to our worlds.

Attached is a photo from China News."

With much hope,

Piip Mobile App: The Future of Messaging and Promotion

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Piipsters, Vloggers, and Bloggers gathered together for the exclusive first day screening of Marvel's Ant-Man and The Wasp!

Bloggers/vloggers were initially asked to go to Novotel Araneta Center, 6th floor beside pool area for some food and refreshments courtesy of Piip. It was also an opportunity to learn more about Piip at the short Open Forum and Q and A provided for everyone. You may check our official Facebook page for the videos containing our interviews, the talks or messages of the Piip executives, namely Hildegarde Maea Atger – Chief Investor, VP Business Development for Asia Pacific; Andrei Garlan – Business Development Director for Philippines and Ian Atienza – Strategic Advisor for Philippines, plus more videos of our personal experience during the event. Photos are also available.

Everyone were treated to free snacks before entering the cinema so they would have something to much and drink while watching the latest Marvel movie starring Paul  Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, and Michael Douglas, plus Michelle Pfeiffer, Hannah John-Kamen, Michael Pena, Laurence Fishburne, Walton Goggins, and a lot more.

Piip merchandise were also given away as raffle and contest prizes before the movie started. I would have joined the contests but there were so many kids among us so we let them have the fun. After all, it's their moment as the movie is more for them to enjoy. Who wouldn't love superhero movies as they inspire everyone to become a hero themselves, with superpowers or none. It is a great thing that these movies continue to add characters without superpowers to let people know we could contribute to the cause, or assist the superheroes, in our own special little way.

That is also why many loves taking photo ops, groupfies or selfies with these superheroes, cosplayer or even the actual heroes if ever they come to our reality. We love wearing shirts, caps, jackets, hoodies, or anything with superhero designs, because for me, they are not only with attractive designs but also somehow imbues the heroic quality of the character to the wearer.

These are so much additional perks given to the moviegoers as the actual price of the movie thru Piip was only P150 ... it's actually very very low already compared to other movie block screenings so you would have regretted it if you knew about this but missed the opportunity to avail of this special promo via Piip mobile app.

Developed in Switzerland as a messenger app in 2011, Piip has gone into the direction as a mobile app that allows you to connect to the merchant stores and place orders, reservations or product inquiries. They started public testing in Serbia in 2016 and then soft-launched only last February 2017 in the Philippines.  But the eal noise was during the December 2017 tree lighting at Araneta. Piip mobile developed a close relationship with the Araneta Group as a merchant partner, that is why the merchants of the app are Araneta Group companies such as Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Novotel etc.

However, the next move is to reach out more to a wider market by targeting more around Metro Manila merchants (mostly food, probably because Filipinos love to eat, and it's basically one of our necessities that we could do without.) You can't go wrong with food businesses so either franchise a known and popular brand or come up with a new unique and tasty product to capture a great portion of the market.

The best thing is that it won't flood your phone with unwanted message ads because you get notices only from those merchants that you like and follow.  Piip integrates instant messaging and business promotion, providing our end users a seamless, safe and easy way to get in touch with the shops they frequently visit, receive promotions from the merchants they love, and discover new ones based on their current location (geo-targeting) and their likings. Through the Piip Billboard, consumers can browse the best offers from different merchants around them. They directly message merchants for the best deals of the day. You can also stay in touch with your friends and at the same time have an opportunity to discover merchants and their promotions based on your location.

The mobile app also gives all its merchants fair exposure to its customers as everyone is encouraged to talk about concerns outside the mobile app. Everyone is open to give suggestions, complaints, follow-ups, feedback, etc., directly to the involved merchants rather than openly airing the discussion within the mobile app.

Just as Ant-Man can increase in size, the Piip mobile app has the potential to grow big especially that Filipinos love promos, discounts, perks and freebies. We love to get our money's worth so getting the opportunity to find out about special deals are always welcomed. If the merchants will invest on promotions as an investment to get more attention, customers will surely flock the app and use it regularly. Since everyone is online, this is the next big thing instead of the traditional way of advertising.

Join the revolution NOW! Download the Piip app for FREE now to get the best and hottest offers around you!!

#WalangPasok: Class Cancellations or Suspensions Due to Typhoons, Transport Strikes, Etc.,

Wazzup Pilipinas!

We are all looking for the announcements for the class suspensions, as declared by the Department of Education (DepEd) or the Local Government Units (LGUs) due to #TyphoonXXX.

Who should really give it and we believe the most important question is " When should they give it to be fair and useful enough to our fellow men?"

There's just so many cases of class suspensions being announced LATE ....when every student has already gone to school and then they let the kids suffer in the rain or transport / traffic problem.

Do we need to have a central agency to announce class suspensions other than on a per LGU?  So that people will only refer to a single point person or agency, rather than getting information from their lowly LGU leaders who also rely on PAGASA to be able to decide?

Better safe than sorry should be the case, and whether it rains, floods, ...or not,...the most important is we are all dry and in the comforts of our own homes rather than stranded in the streets.

#WalangPasok Monday, July 9, 2018, due to bad weather.

Ovation Productions Presents John Ford Coley Live in Sta. Rosa Laguna

Wazzup Pilipinas!

American singer John Ford Coley will be performing at the Santa Rosa Sports Coliseum is Santa Rosa, Laguna on August 11, 2018 produced by Ovation Productions.  John is a classically trained pianist, guitarist, actor and author most known for his partnership in the musical duo England Dan & John Ford Coley.

John is not new to Filipinos as he has frequently visited the Philippines due to the massive popularity here of England Dan & John Ford Coley music.  His first visit to Manila was via a three night Valentines weekend concert at the Folk Arts Theater in 2000  where he appeared with the late Jimi Jamison of Survivor, David Pack, and Ambrosia. Rupert Holmes who was initially in the bill was a no-show. Working together in Manila enabled John and Ambrosia to do more frequent appearances and collaborations together in the U.S. on many occasions.  The Valentines concerts were produced by Ovation Productions who brought them back together after a few years to open for the band America at the Araneta Coliseum.

At 16, Coley, along with schoolmate Dan Seals formed an acoustic act simply named England Dan & John Ford Coley. The duo was signed by A&M Records. In 1971, the two moved from Dallas, Texas to Los Angeles where they opened for numerous bands. Their first break came in 1972 with the song Simone. It became a number one hit in Japan and was popular in France. However, Simone did not fare as well in the United States, and the two were released from their contract with A&M after three albums.

Two years later, they acquired another record deal from Atlantic Records and released the song I'd Really Love to See You Tonight. Overall they had four top-ten hits and two top-twenty hits. They were nominated for a Grammy Award and received triple-platinum and gold records and released eight albums; additionally, other recordings were released abroad.

The duo disbanded in 1980. After the passing of England Dan (Danny Seals, brother of Jim Seals of 1970s soft rock duo Seals and Crofts), John’s solo performances have gotten more attention and have given John renewed purpose to continue performing the hits that the duo have been known for (John fondly referred to their act as ‘Mutt & Jeff’ due to their height difference). One major issue for the disbanding of England Dan and John Ford Coley was change of musical direction as England Dan wanted to pursue country music.

England Dan and John Coley classic hits which John continues to perform in his solo concerts include It's Sad To Belong,Soldier In The RainGone Too FarLove Is The Answer, What's Forever For, Broken Hearted Me, I’d Really Like to See You Tonight, Nights are Forever Without You, We’ll Never Have to Say Goodbye Again, What Can I Do With this Broken Heart, Just Tell Me You Love Me. John also does great covers of The Bread’sMake It With You, Dan Fogelberg’sLonger and Leader of the Band, Dan Hill’s Sometimes When We Touch, among many others. In his Santa Rosa Laguna concert, John Ford Coley will have popular OPM singer-songwriter Noel Cabangon as front act.

(John Ford Coley concert tickets are available at SM and online throughwww.smtickets.com. Ticket prices are P3300, 2800, 1800, 800 plus ticketing charges. For info call 02-4702222 or 0917-1495950, 0956-0922765, 049-5113376.)

What You Need to Know Before Buying a Mattress Such as Allswell

Wazzup Pilipinas!

A couple of years back, I had problems with my back and shoulders. For a long time, I depended on painkillers not knowing what the culprit was. It took consultations and research to find the problem and its solution finally. All along my bedding had been the issue.

The reality is, a lot of individuals struggle with aches because they are not sleeping on the right bed. Before settling on a mattress, ensure that it complements your sleep habits and needs.

When shopping for foam mattresses such as Allswell, there are a couple of things you need to know, it’s best to follow a guide or what I have discussed in detail below. They include:

How Hot or Cold Does It Sleep
Although the introduction of memory foam mattresses into the market changed sleep forever, it wasn't without its shortcomings. Traditionally, the viscoelastic foam tends to sleep very hot. The high temperatures will disrupt the quality of your rest.

Therefore, when buying foam such as Allswell, ensure that it’s fitted with features that enhance the cooling effect. You’ll find the top foam brands use gel infused memory foam and covers that will wick the heat away.

Some foam beds are used together with spring hybrids which sleeper cooler. Also look for the foam quality as the best sleep cool, and don’t pose a threat to the environment or your health.

Your Preferred Comfort Feel
Before settling on a mattress with multiple firmness options like Allswell, it's essential to establish your preferred feel. It makes it easier to decide on a bed.

The sleeping position we take at night determines what firmness level is suitable for you. There are three options – Firm, medium-firm and soft mattresses.

The majority of us are comfortable on a mattress with an average firmness rating. However, some back and stomach sleepers will love a firmer surface, while other stomach and side sleepers will enjoy a soft mattress.

Are You Sharing The Bed?
There are aspects that those sharing the bed must consider other than the firmness, and they are:

Edge support
Motion transfer

Edge support is crucial if you're planning on utilizing the entire the bed surface. Foam beds tend to fall short on this feature. You'll find that as you move from the center to the sides of the mattress, the level of support weakens. Identify what the companies have done to enhance the comfort at the sides. It will also prevent you from falling while sleeping.

Motion transfer is important because you don't want to have your sleep interrupted by moving your partner continually. Ensure the bedding has limited motion transfer. Foam performs well on this aspect. You can check out the Allswell review on details of how it performs on motion transfer and edge support.

Does It Have a Warranty Period?
The best brands on the market have a warranty period. They understand that a mattress is a long-term investment and as such ensures that the consumers are protected. Majority of beds have a 10 – 20 years guarantee period.

Although most bedding has been made affordable, they are still costly, and you need protection. Check out the warranty before buying your mattress regardless of whether it's foam, spring or latex.

Sleep Trials and Returns
What I love about the sleep industry is the return policies and sleep trials. When you buy a quality mattress such as Allswell, it comes with a sleep trial period for you to try it out. In case it doesn't complement your sleep needs, you can have it returned and get your money back. Go for companies that offer such perks.

So, your sleep needs, preferences, the warranty, return policy, sleep trial periods and firmness rating are among the key things that you need to know before settling on a mattress such as Allswell.

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Aside from receiving their respective awards, each awardee has the opportunity to mingle with fellow awardees to network for more collaborations. We've met many business owners whom we learned also share the same commitment to our customers to provide them with the best products and services by eagerly listening to their feedback and desires. After all, we exist because of our customers so it is but proper that we work on their "Likes" and we should "Pusuan" their comments and suggestions, even how negative they are, since it is our way to find out how we could improve on our craft. There may be some rude and aggressive remarks, but still we should be grateful that they are voicing out their concerns. We believe that it is a healthy exchange of thoughts and sentiments to help us grow and evolve to our best version of ourselves.

Now that we have received our awards, the journey doesn't end there because we still have to sustain our momentum towards the top. We believe that as long as there are more new businesses coming in or reinventing themselves, we should also keep ourselves updated in order to catch up or not be left behind by what's trending or the latest.
