Chicharrones de Pollo with Tostones from Poyo: Coming Soon at Robinsons Galleria

Wazzup Pilipinas!

We are excited to share to you another excellent food find.

Featuring for the first time is the Chicharrones de Pollo from Poyo

Wazzup Pilipinas recently joined the Pop-Up Menu Launch held at The Bottle Shop BGC to taste the dish for the first time before they set-up their actual store at Robinson's Galleria in Ortigas area.

The chicken delicacy is undoubtedly good with the Fuller's India Pale Ale beer, but the owner said they'll be serving their own kind of non-alcoholic drink at the actual store.

Maybe you've already seen our interview with Allan Locke earlier where he explains more about POYO World.

The Poyo chicken dish was available only that night at The Bottle Shop, BGC but who knows, maybe they'll consider having it permanently since it was a best-seller that night. The entire stock was gone in maybe just a couple of hours. I actually lost track of time while enjoying 8 pieces of the Chicaronnes de Pollo together with the Tostones. The dish comes with two choices of dips (a special secret sauce and the tomato salsa) but I think they'll be serving both.

The dish is very affordable at only P200 per order.

Open and Close Letter to Our Dearest Delusional and Dirty Detractor

Wazzup Pilipinas!

One of the main reasons why we can't leave the online or blogging community is because of corrupt entities like #WhineInManila

We need to put them in their rightful place, and we feel obligated to lead so we can make this world a better place.

Sites like them only exists to earn and do not care about the welfare of their readers. They publish junk to get views, and play dirty against their competitors.

Nakakahiya sila!

We've already reported them to the authorities and they will be held accountable for all the dirty deeds they've done.

They are indirectly blackmailing brands and events by backing out of the media partnership in an effort to demean other publications. They are reporting us as not belonging to the Top 100, or, as reported by this recent event organizer,  sending over damaging links to stories created by our bashers.

The companies do not require their media partners to be top of the line.  The more media partners,  the better.  But since #WhineInManila arrogantly boasts that they belong to the top 100, they are implying that companies should kick out the other media (which is mostly us) if the event organizer wants to keep #WhineInManila as media partner.

Some brands let them go, but some brands let us go by cancelling the media partnership with us in order to keep them.

For your information, here's the (un)official statement (or Open and Close Letter) from the Editor-in-Chief and the rest of the Wazzup Pilipinas team:

"There will always be folks who would throw dirt on our name. Many have tried but we came out cleaner than ever. Rumors or hearsay don’t define our credibility, our work ethics does.

However, how we work is clearly not available for everyone's eyes. So all you could do is guess or lurk in the shadows hoping you catch us doing something wrong.

Thus, all we could say to the ones who try to put us down "You're just boosting us up even higher than ever!"

Why? Because now we know you have really gone so low by playing dirty. So low that you're now in deep shit and stinks with a pungent smell that I'm puking everytime I hear your name.

You're trying to take us out of the picture, but sorry because we are here to stay. We are making a lasting mark and will forever be written in history as the one who dared kick your ass. Well, maybe not now, but soon! So get your ass ready for a lot of crazy and wild kicking!

The better influencer in the online industry should not be defined by who gets the most number of Views, Likes, Shares or Comments (we believe you market these engagement as impressions), but by who exerts extra effort to put social responsibility and significance above all the click-baits and other stuffs that are making the Internet a garbage dump.

We would rather grow slowly but honorably, than kiss asses, connive with misfit brands, play dirty and prey on unsuspecting victims. How about learning to pray instead to lessen your sins?

We cannot boast as much numbers as you, but we are proud of the many opportunities we declined because we believe they are dishonest and not beneficial to the greater good. While you on the other hand should confess your dirty deeds as soon as possible otherwise it will consume you down to a point of no return.

We know you are a coward to even answer this open letter but that does not surprise us. You've always been taking the easy way out!

Did we mention you play dirty?

Oh, yeah we did!"

PS:

Below are just some of the memories of how they praised me when I was just starting to write for them, but I immediately grew disenchanted after realizing they just run a smoke and mirrors operation.

Sadly, you won't find my article at their site anymore because they put everything down including those of the other writers that were allied with me.

My only regrets is, I never made copies of the write-ups including the photos. All the effort that went through the articles got wasted....including the supposedly feature stories about the many establishments and events that I visited.

Our difference? I moved on and went to establish Wazzup Pilipinas. I only react whenever I receive reports of their dirty deeds against us. I just pray that they mind their own business and let me do my work. Let the brands and events that I collaborate with get to know the real me on their own without being bad-mouthed or anything similar to that effect.

They may try to say that they only arrogantly uplifted themselves, but who are they fooling to think that many cannot read between the lines.

But wait, there's more!

So much more that you have to wait for this "bloggerserye" to conclude.

However, will it ever find closure if they continue with their dirty deeds?

I guess they won't because they are just too dirty.

Air Supply’s All Out of Love the Musical

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Resorts World Manila (RWM) remains adamant in bringing world-class productions to Filipino audiences this year as it sets to host the stage premier of Air Supply’s All Out of Love the Musical at the award-winning Newport Performing Arts Theater in October.

In the new musical, music producer Tommy King tries to convince struggling rock star Jamie Crimson to go on a world tour to promote his new album and save King’s record company despite Jamie’s current dilemma, having left behind his songwriting partner and the love of his life Rayne.

All this as Tommy deals with his own loss: that of his wife and his distant relationship with his daughter.

“We are excited to partner with Musical Management Asia Pacific All Out Of Love the Musical. It is a great source of pride to be the first to host a world-class production such as this, and it is a big step towards our goal of making the Philippines the “Broadway of Asia”, says Kingson Sian, President and CEO of RWM. “We can’t wait for you to hear what may arguably be the greatest love songs ever written, set to what may be one of the greatest love stories to grace the stage,” he adds.

The move to stage the world premiere of a musical anthology comprising Air Supply’s biggest hits in the country was the logical choice considering the wide fan-base of the Australian Soft Rock Duo consisting of Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock.

“We have always had such great support from our Filipino fans, Manila is definitely the right city to launch the show! We’re very excited,” shared Graham Russell in an interview.
The musical is a contemporary romantic-comedy written by award-winning Canadian playwright Jim Millan, set against the backdrop of Air Supply’s timeless classics.

The musical is said to be on a strictly limited season with 12 guaranteed shows starting October 18.

Air Supply fans and theatregoers are encouraged to join the waitlist via ticketworld.com.ph early to secure sure tickets to the performances.

Binondo: A Tsinoy Musical

Wazzup Pilipinas!

‘BINONDO: a Tsinoy Musical’ tells the story of how LILY, a Filipina night club singer in pre-Martial Law Manila, and AH TIONG, a mainland Chinese scholar returning to Cultural Revolution-era Beijing, embark on a journey of great love and heartbreak that begins one fated, moon-lit night during the Mid-Autumn Festival of 1971 in the heart of Manila’s Chinatown.

LILY, a hopeless romantic, finally finds her unlikely great love in AH TIONG, a cynic about destiny, during this night of one of the fullest moons ever recorded and on the birthdate of Ge Lao, the Old Man Under the Moon or the Chinese Deity of Love. Vying for LILY’s heart as well is CARLOS, a local Chinese childhood friend of hers who is finally pushed to confront his feelings for her with the arrival of this stranger set on stealing her heart. A triangle centered on different ways of loving and receiving love forms the crux of this story.

Spanning two decades and two countries, the musical explores how love overcomes even times of racial prejudice and political turmoil and endures years of waiting and absence, only to grow deeper and change the lives of everyone who dares to put their hearts on the line.

BINONDO, A TSINOY MUSICAL opens June 29 - 8 pm
at The Theatre at Solaire.

Other performance dates are as follows:
June 30 - 3 pm and 8 pm
July 1 - 3 pm and 8 pm
July 6 - 8 pm

Manila Wrestling Federation Aims to Break New Ground in Live Entertainment with MWF1: Kasaysayan on April 8

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Colorful and eye-catching characters in exciting and relatable stories doing impressive athletic feats. This is what the new Pinoy-flavored professional wrestling is all about.

After last month’s highly successful preview and re-launch event MWF Open House: Level UP, the Manila Wrestling Federation (MWF) promises to deliver a full package of sports-entertainment with its first major offering titled MWF 1: Kasaysayan.

The spectacle will be held at Elements at Centris, EDSA Quezon Avenue in Quezon City, on April 8, Sunday, 7 PM.

MWF’s roster of physically gifted entertainers is set to pack the show with family-friendly fun and action, headlined by a main event match of international proportions featuring Kenneth ‘The Eurasian Dragon’ Thexeira from Singapore Pro Wrestling going against former WWE and NXT competitor Ho Ho Lun of Hong Kong Wrestling Federation, with MWF flag-bearers Mr. Lucha and Robin Sane as their respective tag team partners.

Embellishing the larger-than-life personas of MWF standouts such as the trash-talking Fabio Makisig, the tortured-soul artist Frankie Thurteen and the dangerous prizefighter Rex Lawin, another highlight to watch out for is the Federation’s sleek live event and multimedia productions,
steadily steered by a creative team of professionals from the country’s TV, film and theatre industries.

"At Level UP, we gave our 'Kapa-feds' just a piece of what fans can expect this coming April at Kasaysayan,” says MWF Co-founder and Commissioner Mike Shannon. “On April 8, we will provide fans- casual and hardcore alike- with a product that every Filipino wrestling fan can enjoy. If you're looking for great wrestling and family-friendly entertainment, MWF Kasaysayan is going to be the show for you- And then some!"
