With the given theme, this battle of the bands induces performances ranging from the craziest, most enlivened to the smoothest and sentimental crooning acts to gain the favor of audience.

After two days of progressive drills and scrimmages, six boys and two girls topped the first Regional Selection Camp of the Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA Philippines 2016 presented by Alaska held February 20-21 at Benguet State University.

Jan Zyrus de Ayre, of Berkeley School, 14; Ric Ozner Joshua Gatuz of Cherished Moments School, 13; Vincent Mabiwo of University of Cordilleras, 13; Emmanuel James Macaranasn of Bayambang National High School, 13; Sergz Quitaleg of St. Louis University – Laboratory High School, 14; and Wrench Mason Roquid of University of Perpetual Help System- Laguna, 13 ruled the boys division while Katreena Areola, 13, also from Berkeley School; and Rae Jemima Caba, 13, of St. Louis University – Laboratory Elementary School are the girls who will represent North Luzon to the Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA Philippines National Training Camp this April.

These eight young ballers stood out from among the 667 Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA participants from the Cordillera Administrative Region and young players from Batangas and Laguna in South Luzon who travelled to Benguet for the opportunity to be selected for advancement to the next stages of the NBA’s global youth basketball participation program.

The finalists excelled in the skills stations and scrimmages and exemplified the Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA core S.T.A.R. values of Sportsmanship, Teamwork, a positive Attitude and Respect throughout the camp. The Jr. NBA committee headed by Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA Coach Craig Brown evaluated the regional finalists.

The Junior Executive Society (JES) is an academic organization in the University of the Philippines Los Baños under the College of Economics and Management. Founded in 1995, it is dedicated to the pursuit of academic excellence and the promotion of entrepreneurship as a vital form of boosting rural and urban development.

The “Tiger of Economics and Management” roars as it celebrates its 21st year of existence. To share their success, they will be holding a thanksgiving dance party entitled “ROGUE”, the grandest and most daring (electronic dance music) rave party you will ever experience where part of the event’s proceeds will go to the foundation, A Liter Of Light. UPJES is known to throw the biggest parties in UP Los Banos-UPLB with more than 1200 attendees so we are expecting approximately 3500 this year.

But instead of it being a rave party in Los Baños, they will be having a VIP club scene instead where in they will be bringing the crowd of Los Baños to Metro Manila.

Thus, this year as part of the celebration of the 21st year of existence of the organization, they will be holding their thanksgiving party on February 26, 2016 at Chaos Nightclub, City of Dreams Manila.

While teachers recognize technology will play a bigger role in improving pedagogy, challenges include shortage of training, inadequate budgets, and lack of curriculum integration

Microsoft today released the findings from its inaugural Microsoft Asia EduTech Survey 2016 which polled close to 200 educators in the Asia Pacific region. According to the study, educators acknowledged that technology will continue to play an integral role in improving pedagogy, but flagged that the top challenge faced in optimizing technology was a lack of training to do so.

According to the survey respondents, educators in the region (95%) recognize the importance of technology’s role in transforming education and inspiring students. The top three uses cited were to enhance classroom learning experiences; to improve efficiency in their role; and to better communicate with students.

While almost all educators (96%) are already influencing technology decisions in their work, nearly all of them (97%) wish to do more. In fact, they unanimously (100%) agree that technology will play a bigger role in transforming and improving education systems in the future.

Tony Fernandes, co-founder and Group Chief Executive Officer of AirAsia has been recognised by the US-ASEAN Business Council with the Fourth Pillar Award for his extraordinary contribution towards the growth of Asean and the U.S.-ASEAN relationship.

The award was presented by Mr. Keith Williams, President & CEO, UL LLC and Chairman, U.S.-ASEAN Business Council to Tony Fernandes, making him the second recipient after the Administration of U.S. President Barack Obama. Presidential aspirants Miriam Defensor-Santiago and Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte embraced each other before the start of the ‪#‎PiliPinasDebates‬2016. Duterte later kissed Miriam's hand and also took her hand and escorted her towards the front of the stage during the group photo ops when the debate ended.

The show of mutual respect and admiration between feisty leaders Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago and Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte was very apparent. I like the way they respect and credit each other!

PiliPinas Debates 2016: Knowing Our Presidential Candidates

From the first Presidential Debate of 2016 elections in Cagayan de Oro City dubbed as PiliPinas Debates 2016, we witnessed how all the presidential candidates are full of flowery words. But it's not HOW you talk about a problem. It's all about HOW you deal with it. At the end of the day, all these proposed projects are nothing but words without the necessary resources.

Grace Poe is in Pia Wurtzbach mode. Girl came prepared. I'm a little bit impressed. If she was applying for a job in a company; she would be great at the interview but the company may hesitate to hire her because of her thin portfolio. Free lunch everyday in public schools? You don't even have enough books and classrooms. Heller, Sen. Poe?!? She would have sealed the deal if she told us where the funding for all her planned programs will come from.

Jejomar Binay was emphasizing on UNDERSPENDING of the Government. He's clearly justifying his corruption of OVERPRICING for his Makati projects. Also, the definition of Political Dynasty is very clear to everyone. Why is he is trying to insinuate that there is a confusion? As per Santiago's statement, the anti-dynasty provision can be found most of all in our Constitution.

Mar Roxas is lot less like the Wharton graduate he claims and had the dirtiest mouth of them all. He may be the most qualified, but he just doesn't leave you impressed. What he said during the debate makes me wonder if he is still qualified for the position. There is truth in what he said about the two kinds of Makati, one that was made prosperous by the Ayalas, and the other one that is still poor and drug-infested. However, on his closing statement, he seems to be implying that we should vote him if we want to be like him. He has been consistent in being narcissistic. Excessively preoccupied with personal adequacy, power, prestige and vanity.

No one won the debate. The only awards are Best Speaker, Best Friendship Goals, Best in Advertising, & Best in Drama. That wasn't a debate, that was speed dating. Tell me your dreams, hopes and aspirations and let me see if I like you. It's a fishbowl questions, randomly selected, they prioritize in general need of all people.

It would've been a better debate if there weren't commercial breaks. Extended talk time + better debatable topics. Why are commercials longer than the debate itself?! More time for debate, less time for ads.

We should've had a drinking game while watching:take a shot everytime "daang matuwid" or "decisiveness" is mentioned. "I want to be Pres. because I want Filipinos to be free to dream. I want them to have the kind of life I lead." says Mar Roxas

Rodrigo Duterte asserts his 3 to 6 months promise to clean up Philippines by saying "I will stop drugs, crime and corruption in 3-6 months. There is so much corruption & drugs but nobody is minding this problem." Miriam Defensor-Santiago closes with "there should be academic excellence, head of class, professional excellence, walang bahid rin."

The historic presidential debate for 2016 election is PiliPinas Debates 2016 live from Capitol University in Cagayan de Oro, the promised land of Mindanao! The stage is set. A must-see as presidential race in the Philippines gets into full swing.

We are witnessing the first Presidential Debate with the five candidates. A first of three COMELEC-initiated presidential debate for the 2016 National elections. This will have 4 rounds of questions covering topics of national interest, development and poverty, peace and order and the Constitution. The two-hour presidential debates are patterned after the US Republican debates and candidates will be given one minute time cap both for their opening and closing statements.

I encourage everyone,especially the youth and first time voters, to watch critically because this debate will tell so much about the candidates, including their stand with important societal issues. It's a historic moment and a make or break moment for candidates.
