Close Encounters with the Mike Unson of Stand-Up Comedy

Wazzup Pilipinas!

I never laughed this hard ever during a live stand up comedy session, seriously. Well It was a Saturday night, me and my gal pals had nothing to do. Then an invite for Wazzup Pilipinas, was an opportunity to be able to witness an English stand up comedy session with the sense of Filipino humor from the best stand up comedians in the country, who are part of the #ComedyCartelPH.

To be honest, English humor doesn’t really get to me quick but hell yeah how they delivered their spiels really got my attention. There was never a dull moment listening to them. My girls and I laughed so much because the jokes are really what we call, “Yeah we’ve been there kinda situation”, meaning that the spiels are relatable to the things that happens nowadays.

Mike Unson (@mikeunson) , have been in the stand up comedy biz for years and he is really passionate about it ever since. And he is celebrating his anniversary! He already made a name in stand up comedy and he is really funny guys! He really cracked me up with his spiels on “#CANDY’SROADTOFITNESS” (My girls and I can’t really forget about it). I guess you guys better catch him up with one of his show for you to get what I’m saying. We got the chance to meet him personally, he was accommodating and very down to earth fella.

I asked some stuff about him, what It feels like to be in the industry that long, how is the competition nowadays, we know a lot of stand up comedians getting popular nowadays- really tough competition out there. ( Making people laugh is a gift and talent, I say.) His source of inspiration and ritual she usually do before a show. His words of inspiration to those who plans to go with same path, he is in.

Schick Offers Smooth Moves to Achieve Good Grooming

Wazzup Pilipinas!

At the same day when the country is celebrating Mother's Day, many other events took the opportunity to get the attention of the potentially huge crowd that will frequent the malls to celebrate the special occasion. Of course, the celebration usually has he entire family members in tow which includes the fathers and big brothers who are the primary targets of men's good grooming products from many different brands.

With its longstanding commitment to promote good grooming among Filipino men, Schick also launched its ‘Smoothism Temple's Shave to Save: A Sharing Event for a Cause’ last May 10, 2015 at the Trinoma Activity Center.

Shaving is actually not limited to men since women also shave other parts of their bodies. The launch of the new shaver product for sensitive skin allows for a safer and more comfortable shaving experience even for women.

Present during the event was Rico Robles, a disc jockey for Monster Radio TX 93.1, who hosted the Smoothism Temple's Shave to Save event, plus other facilitators who personally went out to the crowd, availing of the freebies like shavers and haircut services, and interviewed them.

During the event, the brand icon's Smooth Lee made a stunt to fight Lumpy Bumps and Knick the Knife, who both represented the effects of a badly shaved skin. This is part of Schick's Smoothism campaign, way of life that highlights the importance of de-stressing, looking good, feeling good, and doing good.

Worst Ten Bloggers in the Philippines

Wazzup Pilipinas!

As a blogger, I've been called so many names already that it's actually horribly disappointing that you are being judged completely for a few unverified accusations coming from obvious detractors who just wants to ruin your reputation so they could fulfill their own devilish desires of dominating the blogging community.

Those few bloggers who call themselves top, elite or authority don't even have the guts to say it directly to my face. They are the ones who are actually ruining the essence of blogging by creating factions and groups that are limited to only the few "chosen" ones.

I do understand that we should have some form of quality control But even trash deserves some filtering to segregate the "recyclables" and put them into good use later.

I believe everyone, especially the "newbies" deserve the time, patience and guidance from the "veterans" to straighten them out. But what I really hate is when a few "feeling entitled" bloggers dictate their perception of what a "professional" and ethical blogger should be.

I've written down a few undesirable traits of bloggers that I've personally witnessed throughout my couple of years as a blogger. It's how I see the blogging community based on the bloggers I've seen at events, and communicated with online. I know I'm still young in the world of online media but I'm betting I would be seeing more surprising acts as the years go by.
