OMG! The ink gods heard our prayers – and we are tremendously grateful. The wait is finally over and we are celebrating big time for the coming of the most spectacular and grandest tattoo convention in the Philippines.

This much-awaited event will surely be a crowd-pleaser as it is the most popular and powerful gathering of tattoo experts combined with fabulous performances and very naughty and exhilarating competitions every tattoo art lover would appreciate.

I can't wait to step into the doors of the World Trade Center this September 27 and 28, along with my equally excited friends to witness Dutdutan Trece, the thirteenth run of the world-famous Dutdutan!

Good things come from small beginnings. We must learn to walk baby steps until we finally learn to run. I suppose our section Copernicus can attest to that.

To be honest, we weren't off to a great start. There were a couple of misunderstandings along the way but fortunately, we managed to surpass them and build a bond among us. During the aerodance competition last month, we were given a chance to show off our talents.

At first, we were being complimented by Sir Gabby, our MAPEH teacher but a few days before the aerodance, we were quite confused regarding our abilities. We had last minute practices -- four days before the competition -- and last minute steps -- the Whoops Kirri. We also had a small problem about our props. But we didn't raise the white flag just yet.

The "kontrabida" queens are doing it "bold and beautiful" proving they are indeed televisions most glamorous antagonists.

Last month's cover for September was Ruffa Guttierez and my golly - Ruffa was totally working it in Italy with two covers for Metro Magazine!!! It was so hot that it made it to Yahoo's hottest magazine covers for September!

You have to admit you somehow hate her for that! Lol!

Mark Joseph Solis, an alumnus of the University of the Philippines - the country's premier state university - admitted to passing off as his own a photograph that won the Smiles for the World Calidad Humana contest sponsored by Roberto Mayorga, Ambassador to Manila of the Chilean Embassy.

Solis is a political science alumnus of UP and is currently taking up his Masters in Public Administration at the National College of Public Administration and Governance. The website of the International Association of Political Science Students said Solis is a legislative staff of Senator Pia Cayetano but Senator Pia already tweeted that Solis was just a probationary staff employed for just three months and is no longer connecetd with her office.

Solis was awarded $1,000 and round trip tickets to Chile and Brazil last September 18, Chile's National Day celebration, at the Cultural Center of the Philippines.

Social Entrepreneur Gregory John Smith, the real owner of the photograph, revealed how "an impostor... abused my copyright." The photo belonged to the Children at Risk Foundation, which he founded.

What is more shocking was that this was not the first time that Solis entered contests using photos he doesn't own.

The Digital Influencers Marketing Summit 2013 was an awesome gathering of digital influencers and social media experts sharing their profound knowledge and vast experience to a huge crowd all eager to be the best in their chosen profession.

It was even bigger and better than the previous summit. I was amazed at the turn-out of attendees and never imagined it will still be that big despite the fact that another social media event, The Social Good Summit organized by Maria Ressa's Rappler, was happening the very same day.

I attended the first Digital Influencers Marketing Summit last year, as well as the Social Good Summit, and another one - the Laguna Blogging Summit (scheduled sometime November this year). All of them have scheduled a second run.

It was unfortunate that the Social Good Summit was held at the same time as the Digital Influencers Marketing Summit because I wanted to attend both events. I attended all those events last year and learned a lot from the speakers that were all very popular and inspirational.

However, I needed to make a choice. Choose only one because I couldn't possibly attend both events.

My parents remember RJ Ledesma fondly as the kid endorser of a softdrink brand, but I got to know him more popularly as a host cheering up his audience with his wild and crazy antics but with a class and sophistication above the other comedians that usually just use street jokes. His jokes are way above the usual stand-up comedies.

"He has gone a long way from those Sunflower biscuits and Ebisen crackers ads.....and Royal Tru-Orange!"

This guy must be smart and a literary genius for being the Editor-in-Chief of UNO Magazine, and an expert businessman/entrepreneur for coming up with a remarkable series of seasonally available night food markets (among many other things I'm sure because he did mention he was a Real Estate Developer during the book launch) that has most probably done well because of it frequent occurrence all over the Metro.

He now has a handful of books (5 to be exact) available to continue with what he does best : make people laugh with naughty yet classy humor. The latest book is entitled "Playing with Pink Parts : RJ Ledesma’s Guide to Gayumas Aphrodisiacs and Love Spells" and was recently launched last September 20 at the National Bookstore Glorietta 1 branch.

There was so much stuff at the Collecticon 2013 "bazaarista" event held at the Robinsons Place Manila Midtown Atrium last September 20 to 21!

It was supposed to be a three-day event with a third day scheduled on Sunday September 22, 2013 but was cancelled due to unavoidable circumstances to give way to an in-house mall event. The organizers have shared their deepest apologies for the very short notice of cancellation.

Regardless of the cancelled third day, many were lusting for those Gundam kits and those little pink Zakus. Many also checked out those Manic Panic jars!

Several toy items were available for bidding for as low as a few pesos too low to be called lunch money. Thousands of toys were all over the venue with various price ranges. If you are truly a collector, you will be able to identify which among the toys are real "collectibles".

They say that we write our own life's story. That we are the only ones who can travel our own journey, make our own path, and achieve our own goals. But we, PaScian journalists of the year 2013 decided to take one path together : the path towards triumph.

Last August 19 , the Division Secondary Schools Press Conference (DSSPC) officially opened for the schools, private or public, with the aspiring student journalists. And of course , for our dearest Alma Matter, we did not allow that to pass. The hand picked students from grade seven to fourth year by Miss Riza Zuniga were united to represent the school for the said competition.
